Warring is like a rocking chair.

It gives you something to do but it doesn't get you anyway.

Irma Bombeck.

What does warring actually accomplish?

Think back to any time in your life that the energy you spent on warring changed any outcome of a challenging situation for the positive.

Warring has never helped.

The only thing warring does is prevent joy.

Worry keeps us on this rocking chair believing that warring will somehow prevent stress,

Failure and discomfort.

Instead,

Warring robs you of your energy that you could use to do something that brings you joy.

By sitting on this rocking chair of worry you neglect your tasks and chores,

Only adding to your situation of stress and feeling of overwhelm.

You know warring does not help but yet you find comfort on this rocking chair of worry.

There is a way to move off this chair.

You have your breath.

Your conscious awareness of your breath is like a reset button to help stop the looping message of warring.

Please join me for a mindset reset.

I invite you to stand up physically getting off this rocking chair of worry.

Bring your feet about hip distance apart.

Lift your toes off the ground.

Spread your toes and then place them back onto the earth.

Feel your feet rooted into the earth.

Then please wrap your left hand around your right forearm.

Slide your hand down until your pinky finger touches the protruding part of your elbow,

Just above the wrist.

Gently press your fingers in the crease between the bone and the muscles in your forearm.

This is the HR7 acupressure point.

This pressure point may help bring you relief of your fluctuating emotions and feelings of anxiousness.

Stand like this and close your eyes or have a soft gaze.

Now bring your awareness to your breath.

Notice your breath.

Is your breath short and fast?

If it is,

Gently lengthen your inhale and your exhale.

A slow steady breath in and a slow steady breath out.

Stay here with me.

Inhale,

Exhale.

Inhale,

Exhale.

Inhale,

Exhale.

Inhale,

Exhale.

Bring your awareness to your feet on the ground and repeat the words,

I am safe.

Walk your awareness up to your hands supporting your wrist and repeat the words,

I am present.

Move your awareness to your gentle,

Slow,

Steady breath and repeat the words,

I am calm.

Bring your awareness back to your feet on the ground.

I am safe.

Walk your awareness to your hands supporting your wrist.

I am present.

Bring your awareness to your gentle,

Slow,

Steady breath.

I am calm.

I am safe.

I am present.

I am calm.

Take a moment to just notice how you feel.

There is no right or wrong way to feel.

This is a practice to help you come back to your center and listen to your inner wisdom.

What is your inner wisdom saying?

Slowly bring your awareness back to the texture of the ground beneath your feet.

Maybe move your toes.

Maybe you come onto the ball of your one foot and roll your ankle a few times.

Place your foot back down to the earth and do the same with the other foot.

Placing your foot back down to the earth,

These circles sweep your arms up to the sky as you take a big breath in through your nose and then bring your hands to pray to your heart center.

As you sigh your breath,

Open your eyes.

I now invite you to move forward and use your energy to create a beautiful and peaceful day.

Thank you for joining me.

Be well and namaste.

Great meditation! Love the visualization of worrying as a rocking chair and the invitation to physically get off of it! Needed this today. This meditation will definitely be listened to over and over again.
