Yoga Nidra - Through The Body Into The Soul
Awaken your awareness at the cellular level of your body. Rest your attention deep into the cellular matrix of your body. Feel the subtleness of your cells. Feel the warmth of your cells. Feel the movement of your cells independent of the rhythm formed by the beat of your heart and cadence of the lungs. Feel the pulse of life taking place throughout the whole body. Be open to perceiving the sensation of your cells breathing as they naturally are.
Transcript
Yoga Nidra is a practice that holds the potential for deep states of relaxation.
It's a journey offering gateways to dimensions of rest that our previous existence may not have known possible.
Like a key,
It unlocks the door of our innermost remembering,
Guiding us deeper into the mysteries of the unknown.
The essential ingredient to experiencing these realms lies in the ability to maintain the space between wakefulness and sleep.
The mystical slumber where our beliefs and habits are quiet and our subconscious and even unconscious mind is fully open and receptive.
The body is still and in a deep state of rest while the mind is an active participant in the guidance being offered.
The practice of Yoga Nidra begins now.
Resting comfortably on your back,
Eyes closed,
Gazed focused at the back of your lids,
Allow your inner peripheral vision to go wide and soft.
Notice any concentrated efforts and encourage these spaces to soften into the canvas of your body where they can be absorbed and assimilated.
Observe this slowly with your breath.
Notice your arms resting alongside your body,
Legs a comfortable distance apart.
Give permission to adjust the support of your body if needed in any way.
Align your attention with the natural movement of your breath.
Just how the ocean patiently waits for the tide.
Pause and feel the tide of the breath and merge it with the ocean of your body.
Witness the breath into your chest,
Into your abdomen,
Drifting into your arms and legs and as far away as your fingers and toes.
Witness the breath travel all the way into your face and into your head,
Wrapping into the back landscape of your mind.
Watch the breath flow in and out,
Round and round.
Trace even the rebound of your breath.
And now feel into the places where the breath feels shallow.
Areas that seem dark and difficult to contact.
Infuse your unconditional love into these spaces.
Welcome your whole self into the practice.
Start to move deeper within your body.
Deeper into your body.
Into the stillness beneath the movement within.
Deepen your attention into the cells of your matrix.
Land here.
Pause and feel.
Encourage yourself to embody the pause more fully.
That which you are is the resonance of all that you have ever been.
And it is now time to welcome and invite in your sankalpa.
Your individual vow to your utmost truth.
See the energy of your sankalpa.
Now fully embody your sankalpa.
Believe it deeply on all levels of being as you repeat it now three times with everything that you are.
Allow a lingering moment of integration.
Begin to merge into the space where your sankalpa simultaneously knows and feels itself.
And every other sankalpa past,
Present,
And future.
I will now take you on a journey in your physical body.
As I guide you through specific map points,
Infuse your whole presence into that space and become the consciousness of those cells.
Feel your body rather than think your body.
Deeply relax.
Your body remains still,
But your inner sensitivity increases.
Move your awareness in sync with my voice and begin to create new and intelligent body-mind pathways.
Stay engaged and awake as you consciously explore the physical sheath.
Begin with the right side of the body.
Bring your awareness into the right hand thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Small finger,
Palm of the hand,
Back of the hand,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
Armpit,
Right side of the ribcage,
Thigh,
Kneecap,
Shin,
Ankle,
Top of the right foot,
Sole of the foot,
Big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe,
The whole right side of your body in strong presence.
Float your awareness to the left hand thumb,
Left index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Small finger,
Palm of the hand,
Back of the hand,
Wrist,
Forearm,
Elbow,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
Armpit,
Left side ribcage,
Thigh,
Kneecap,
Shin,
Ankle,
Top of the left foot,
Sole of the foot,
The big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe,
Feel the entire left side of your body.
Stay present and awake.
Come to settle at the soles of the feet.
Gently move your focus from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head using the back body circuit.
Simultaneously feel both sides as you ascend from the soles of both feet.
Travel into the back of the heels,
The back side of your ankles,
Calves,
Back of the knees,
Hamstrings,
Buttocks,
Low back,
Mid back,
Right and left shoulder blades,
Back of the neck,
Back of the head,
Crown of the head.
Hold the entire back body in your attention.
Stay present and awake.
Come to the forehead,
The right eyebrow,
Left eyebrow,
Center of the eyebrows.
The right eyeball,
Left eyeball,
Right cheek,
Left cheek,
Right ear,
Left ear,
Right nostril,
Left nostril,
Nose,
Tip of the nose,
Upper lip,
Lower lip,
Both lips together.
Chin,
The whole face,
Throat,
Right and left sides of the chest,
Belly,
Pelvis,
Pelvic floor,
The entire right leg from the crease of the hip to the furthest edge of the toes.
Whole left leg,
Hip to toes,
Whole right arm,
Shoulders to fingers,
Whole left arm,
Shoulder to fingers.
Now feel your whole spine from the tip of the tailbone,
Trace up through each vertebrae,
Lumbar,
Thoracic,
Cervical,
Until making contact with the brain inside of the skull.
Feel the wholeness of your body,
Legs,
Arms,
Torso,
Face,
Head.
Feel your whole body,
Your whole body,
Your whole body.
Resonate back into your sweet life-giving breath.
Witness your body being breathed by the inherent life force that acquaints us all.
Now begin to trace your breath cycles backwards from 21 to 1.
Both sides of the breath will receive the same count,
And you will be fully aware and connected to this breath and this count the entire time.
I will do the first few with you.
Inhale 21.
Exhale 21.
Inhale 20.
Exhale 20.
Inhale 19.
Exhale 19.
Continue with this counting of breath.
If you get lost,
Go back to 21 and begin again.
Anchor back into my voice.
Know that you are practicing yoga nidra.
Begin to recede away from breath awareness and bring to the forefront the kosha of mind and emotion.
Feel your body becoming very heavy.
Go into your body and feel your heaviness as your bones ground.
The weight of your muscles peels them away from your bones and anchors them into the earth.
Allow all liquid sensations to pool and thicken.
Your whole body is heavy.
Whole body heavy.
Your whole body is heavy.
Now acquaint yourself with the sensations of lightness.
Sense the change in pressure as you begin to conjure the sensations of lightness.
Witness your water-like substances rising up like steam from a river.
Feel your muscles as supple and smooth.
Your whole body is light.
Your whole body is light.
Your whole body is light.
Now release into a neutral state.
Move into the experience of pain.
Feel pain in your body.
Where is pain showing up in your body?
Is it physical pain or emotional pain?
What is your response?
Your reaction to feeling pain?
Now let go of pain and move into pleasure.
Allow pleasure to wash over your entire body.
Emotional pleasure or physical pleasure.
Where do you feel pleasure the most within you?
Stay with the experience of pleasure in your body.
Now shift your attention to the space between the eyebrows.
The space known as the heart space of the mind.
And as you linger here in Chidakash,
Feel as though someone you love is applying a gentle pressure to this point.
We will now move into rapid visualization.
Allow yourself to be free and simply witness what does or does not arise.
And allow it all to fall away.
The star center of an apple.
The picture of earth from space.
The eye of your own heart.
The whole world in his hands.
The iris of a flower.
A wide open sky.
A black spot on a lung.
An oil soaked ocean.
A faded beauty mark.
A glorious sunset.
The billions of cells that make up your body.
Stay focused on the cells that make up your body.
Awaken now your awareness at the cellular level of your body.
Rest your attention deep into the cellular matrix of your body.
Feel the subtleness of your cells.
Feel the warmth of your cells.
Feel the movement of your cells independent from the rhythm of the heart or the cadence of your lungs.
With your focused intent,
Infuse your gentle breath into your cells.
Gradually drawing them into a more heightened state of consciousness.
Journey deeper.
Land your attention into one individual cell.
Wholehearted attention into one cell.
Feel the pulse of the cell.
The movement of its own process.
Its own rhythm even within the deepest levels of stillness within the body.
Feel your cell breathing.
Minutely expanding and contracting.
Invite your sensations to travel further into the cell.
Traveling into the area where creation began.
The point of consciousness from which the universe originates.
The geometric center of the cell.
Allow the self to land here.
Feel so worthy to be in this space.
You are the guru.
The yoda of yourself.
Witness yourself coalesce with this unified field in a celebrational way.
San kelpa.
San kelpa.
San kelpa.
From the formlessness.
The unmanifest.
Dream your san kelpa into reality.
Repeat your san kelpa mentally three times now.
Very gently begin to draw your energetic cords back into your body.
Just until you feel the point where you reach your physical layer.
Receive these energetic cords by lengthening your breath.
Allow your breath to prepare your body for the eventual movement that will come.
Offer your next exhale to extend to the boundaries of your body.
Fingertips and toes.
As the exhale is received,
Gentle response by folding and opening your fingertips and toes.
The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.

Absolute magic. I can’t quite comprehend where I traveled to on this one but I want to go again. An early stage of the cell visualisation brought in conflict and, while dealing with this I encountered such space then bliss. Thank you Heather.

Great meditation. Deep peace. Disappear into something else at times. Very in touch with my body and my need to rest. One intuition and some views of my unknowns.
