Love
Cultivate a deeper presence of love with this practice. Allow any story or object you may be associating to the understanding of love fall away and land in a state of love - a place that exists when everything else falls away.
Transcript
Welcome to your yoga nidra practice.
With so much love and attention to yourself,
Prepare by laying your body down to rest on your back.
Add an extra layer of warmth to your body with a blanket if needed.
Consciously surrendering into a position that provides a willingness to be still and receptive.
As you begin to settle,
Feel free to place the back of your head on a pillow.
Your knees can also be supported with a pillow or a bolster so that you are cradling your physical body more fully.
Now offer your arms to surrender alongside your body,
Palms facing upwards,
Legs lengthening out from the hips with a comfortable distance apart.
Ensure that your surrounding area is safe so that you can release your attention away from it.
With the deepest of love and care to yourself,
Make very conscious decision points on any final movements if need be.
As though you are tenderly,
Meticulously placing each part of your body into a more comfortable mold.
Allow these movements to be a reflection of your commitment to self-love and self-care.
Now position your mind where there is less involvement,
More allowance,
And begin to draw your attention towards your breath.
Give a slow,
Deep inhale.
Pause and hold momentarily at the peak and gradually release out the mouth.
Repeat this slowly a few more times.
When everything is lined up and gathered into awareness,
Make a choice to rest in stillness and allow the outer body to grow steady and quiet.
Gather your attention into a deeper relationship with your breath.
Sense its ability to draw you inwards into deeper receivership.
Trace the line of warm air as it enters in and out,
Very gentle and steady.
Using your breath as a guiding force into deeper realms of restfulness.
Allow your inner layers and all the intelligent systems of your body to start to calibrate with the life force of the universe.
Trust in my ability to guide you through your knee-jure experience.
Give yourself permission to feel safe and secure.
Feel into the earth that is holding you,
Supporting you.
And with your next exhale,
Offer your whole body to become more weighted towards the earth.
Feel into the atmosphere that's around you,
Supporting you,
Encasing you.
And now visualize both the earth and the atmosphere together,
Creating a beautiful dome of support.
Cloaking you in a blanket of love as we journey deeper into the unknown.
The place where the ego surrenders and we connect with our deeper level of self.
The practice of Yoga Nidra begins now.
We journey into practice not out of duty,
But rather because the practice guides us back home.
Back home into the remembrance of our wholeness.
Yoga Nidra offers an energetic massage from the physical body all the way through to the subtlest points.
Each time we sense the unclasping,
The unclinging,
Something we no longer need to let go.
Revealing deeper pockets of our highest self and space to receive something new.
Love is the ultimate state of receivership.
It is not just an emotion or an effect,
But rather a quality already embedded into the fabric of the universe.
Love is our natural state of being.
Bring your attention into the sensations of your heartbeat.
Journey deeper into your heart and settle in the geometric center.
As you feel into the eye of your heart,
Listen for the innermost voice of wisdom that resides here.
When the mind is quiet and the heart is open,
It provides an opportunity for our sankalpa to reveal itself naturally.
If the mind space remains quiet,
Honor this.
If your sankalpa is emerging,
Formulate your sankalpa into a positive present moment statement.
Some examples might be,
I am kind.
I am worthy.
I am willing and able to step into my light.
In the space of deep listening,
Call forth the tender seed-like statement of your sankalpa.
On the origins of your heart,
Repeat your sankalpa three times internally now.
I will now guide you through a rotation of consciousness using the map of your physical body.
See if you can feel rather than think the point of your body I draw your attention towards.
With each breath,
Infuse these points with a warmth and a kindness.
Feel into your right hand thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Pinky finger,
Warmth and kindness to the center of your palm,
The back of the right hand,
Wrist crease,
Forearm,
Inner elbow,
Back of the elbow,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
Underside of the right arm,
All twelve ribs,
The intercostal muscles of the ribs,
The right side waistline,
Hip,
Femur bone of the right leg,
Kneecap,
Shin,
Ankle,
Upper foot,
Arch of the foot,
Big toe,
Second,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth,
The whole right foot.
Now guide your warmth and kindness to the left side of your body.
Feel the warmth into your right hand thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger,
Pinky finger.
Feel the center of the palm of the left hand,
The back of the hand,
Wrist crease,
Forearm,
Inner elbow,
Back of the elbow,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
Warmth and kindness to the underside of the left arm,
Rib cage,
The intercostal muscles of the ribs,
Left side waistline,
Hip,
Femur bone,
Kneecap,
Shin,
Ankle,
Upper foot,
Arch of the foot,
Big toe,
Second toe,
Third toe,
Fourth toe,
Fifth toe,
Warmth and kindness to the whole left foot.
Now feel into the back line of your body.
Guide your warmth and kindness here.
Back of the heels,
The right calf,
The left calf,
Back of the right upper leg,
Back of the left upper leg,
Both legs together,
The bones of the pelvic calves.
Feel into the triangular shape of the sacrum in your low back,
Lordotic curve at the base of your spine,
Thoracic vertebrae,
12 pairs of ribs on your back body,
Cervical spine.
From the tip of the cervical spine enter into the brain stem.
Sense the back of the brain,
The left hemisphere of the brain,
The right hemisphere of the brain.
Now feel both hemispheres together.
The left temple,
The right temple,
The left eye,
The right eye,
The third eye,
All three eyes together.
Right cheek,
The right cheek,
Left nostril,
Right nostril,
Mouth,
Ridgy portion of the roof of the mouth,
Soft palate of the roof of your mouth,
Underside of the tongue,
The whole tongue from root to tip,
The right inner cheek of your mouth,
The left inner cheek of your mouth,
Front of the throat,
Collar bones,
Sternum,
Base of the sternum,
Diaphragm,
The whole soft portion of the belly,
The whole right leg,
Whole left leg,
The whole right arm,
The whole left arm,
The whole body,
The whole body.
Hold your whole body in deep warmth and loving kindness now.
Feel your physical layer brimming to its boundary.
With your next exhale,
Allow your physical body to spill into your energy layer.
Feel the energy of your body filling your entire being with life and vitality.
Invite your breath,
Your transporter of this life force,
To engage more fully with this energy.
Sense the energy that is carried into your body with each inhale.
Sense the energy that is released back out with each exhale.
Your breath is the gateway for the physical body to communicate with the soul.
Each inhale is an expression of the masculine yang energy within.
Each exhale is an expression of the feminine yin energy within.
Each breath to breath,
Moment to moment,
Is an absolute balance and synergy.
We will now count backwards from fourteen to one.
Allow both ends of the breath to complete one count.
I will do the first few with you.
Inhale fourteen.
Exhale fourteen.
Inhale thirteen.
Exhale thirteen.
Continue counting backwards.
If you lose your count,
Simply start again and remind yourself you are practicing yoga nidra.
You will stay awake and alert.
Warm hugs.
Anchor back into my voice.
Begin to recede away from breath awareness and bring to the forefront the kosha of mind and emotion,
Manamaya Kosha.
Feel your body becoming very heavy.
Go into your body and feel your heaviness as your bones ground,
The fluid of your body pooling like a thick molasses.
Your whole body is heavy.
Your whole body is heavy.
Your whole body is heavy.
Now acquaint yourself with the sensations of lightness.
Sense the change in pressure as you begin to conjure the sensations of lightness.
Your whole body is light.
Your whole body is light.
Your whole body is light.
Like an evolutionary leap that prior your body may not have thought possible.
Feel both light and heavy all at once.
Both light and heavy all at once.
Light and heavy all at once.
Resentment.
Resentment.
Resentment.
Witness the first flashes that arise.
Resentment.
Have full detachment and awaken to the sensation that resentment produces.
Let it fully express itself as you stay allowing.
Forgiving.
Forgiving.
What is the first thing that came up with forgiving?
Allow the vibrational tone of forgiving to be expressed and experienced in you at this time.
Forgiving.
Now release the sensory dance of opposites and come to rest in the center between your eyebrows.
Move beyond the surface awareness of the third eye and feel now the energetic center of this space.
Go deeper still behind the energy center and land into the space of consciousness.
Chittakash.
This is the mind screen of your awareness.
As I call out images and sensations,
Notice if anything arises and falls away from the place of Chittakash.
Bubble wrap popping.
Snow falling softly past the light of a street lamp.
An Anukshuk.
A cross marking a grave.
Clearly kissing a loved one's forehead.
Crickets chirping on a cool summer evening.
Rain rolling off the rim of an umbrella.
A windstorm moving through a desert.
An Egyptian Ankh.
A spinning vortex.
The scent of a child.
The sound of your own heartbeat.
Love love love.
Stay in the presence of love.
Allow any story or object you may be associating with the understanding of love to fall away and land in the state of love.
The place that exists when everything else falls away.
Enter deeper into the state of love.
Fill this with a brilliant white light.
Go into the brightest part of the light.
Mentally tell yourself,
I am worthy of this light.
I am a part of all that is.
Love completely into this light.
This state of love.
Now release the link of my voice and become what you inherently are.
The expression of the oneness of love.
Now release the link of my voice and become what you inherently are.
The expression of the oneness of love.
Now release the link of my voice and become what you inherently are.
The expression of the oneness of love.
Now release the link of my voice and become what you inherently are.
The expression of the oneness of love.
Now release the link of my voice and become what you inherently are.
San kalpa.
From the origins of love,
Watch as your san kalpa emerges.
Once again form your san kalpa into your positive present moment statement.
And from all of the love within you and all of the love that is and ever was,
Consciously repeat your san kalpa three times internally now.
Sense your own individual existence being formed again out of the oneness.
Your own essence begins to take shape.
The familiar form of your own body comes back into experience.
And you can once again feel your breath,
Your hands,
Your legs,
And your face.
Receive information on the immediate sensations,
Sounds,
Temperature,
Clothing pressure,
Taste in the mouth,
The smell in the room.
Become fully embodied again.
Feel whole,
Rested,
In harmony and in peace with the inner and outer worlds.
The practice of yoga nidra is now complete.
Hari om tatsa.

Such beauty…. In the words, in the voice, in the feelings and emotions that were generated. Whilst following the traditional path through the koshas, it took me on a unique journey that I can’t quite explain. I will be going back to this recording throughout the next week for I feel it has further to take me. Thank you Teacher
