Hey everyone,
Let's take a few minutes today and do a subtle moving meditation focused on empathy,
Love,
Compassion,
Kindness.
So we're going to have focus on the heart chakra today.
And I have two stones here with me to support us.
I have a rose quartz here and malachite,
Which is a beautiful crystal.
And it is green,
Which is the color associated with the heart chakra.
So take a minute to get comfortable in a nice seated position.
Or to just settle in and relax the body,
The weight of the body into the earth.
Relax the shoulders down.
Either soften the gaze or close the eyes.
Sit up nice and tall.
And slowly start to deepen the breath.
Inhale through the nose.
Inhale through the mouth.
You can keep your hands on your knees.
Or you can come into Padma Mudra with me by bringing first the palms together at the heart.
Keep the bottom of the palms together and bring your fingers apart except for the pinky and the thumb.
Keep your shoulders relaxing down.
A nice opening lotus shape through the hands.
The Padma Mudra represents the lotus and is often used when working with the heart chakra.
Can also be associated with Ahimsa,
Which is a practice of non-violence,
Non-harm.
Very loving,
Empathetic,
And compassionate mudra.
So if your hands are in this mudra,
Just keep deepening the breath.
Inhale and exhale.
We feel that we're called upon to really turn inwards lately and really consider how we can show compassion for others.
People that we know,
People that we don't know,
People near and far.
The unifying of humanities done through love and compassion and empathy.
So as you're breathing,
Start to think about ways that you can show empathy towards others as well as yourself.
Just repeat either quietly out loud or silently in your mind.
I am loving kindness.
I am loving kindness.
I care for others.
I care for others no matter how near or far they are to my life.
I see the light in all beings.
I see the light in all beings.
I see the light in myself.
I see the light in myself.
I'm going to slowly start to bring the hands around the back of your body.
Release the fingertips out so that the inner forearms are facing your back and lift the chest to the sky.
You can even lift the chin just a bit.
Don't straighten the neck.
Keep breathing.
Make sure that you only go as far as the breath allows.
Inhale love in and exhale love out.
Shine the heart out and feel empathy and compassion for others,
All others and all of yourself.
Maybe lift the chest just a little bit more.
Couple more inhales and exhales on your own.
On your next exhale bring the palms to the heart,
Anjali Mudra.
Slowly start to rub the palms of the hands together.
Keep the eyes closed or keep the soft gaze.
A pick up speed,
Create some friction in the hands.
Little bit faster,
Little bit faster,
Really create some friction there.
Little bit faster and exhale bring the palms to the chest,
To the heart,
Feel the heat from the palms on your chest,
On your heart chakra.
Breathe,
I am loving kindness.
I care for others near and far in my life.
I am the light for others and I am the light for myself.
Let's return to that Padma Mudra,
Pinkies and thumbs connect on the palms,
Connect that nice lotus flower shape.
Sit up nice and tall and take three more inhales and exhales.
On your last inhale really imagine inhaling empathy,
Love and compassion in and exhale radiate it out.
Unifying yourself to humanity,
Bring the palms together at the heart,
Anjali Mudra.
Just take a couple more inhales and exhales.
Maybe turn the corners of the mouth up a bit and feel that rush of love through the body.
Honor yourself and others by taking this love through the rest of your day to everybody that you meet and talk to and know that you can return to this meditation whenever you feel fatigued or burnt out,
That you're struggling to understand one another.
Thumbs up to the third eye,
Thank you so much for breathing with me,
Much love to you.
Namaste.
