Forgiveness is the act of letting go of feelings of resentment, anger, or the desire for revenge toward someone who has harmed you, whether intentionally or unintentionally. It involves releasing negative emotions and choosing to pardon or absolve the person or situation that caused pain or hurt. I hope this meditation will open your heart so you can feel ready to forgive.

Hello dear friend,

I know your heart feels heavy because you wished you could have forgiven that person who did you wrong a long time ago.

But somehow you never felt ready to do it.

And that's okay.

It wasn't probably the time to do it.

You needed more time to process what happened.

Because you are here now,

I feel that you are more than ready to let go and release the feelings of resentment and grudge.

Just the fact that you have taken the time to forgive the other person releases some tension within you.

So let's begin by finding yourself a comfortable posture.

Sitting with your spine tall and free,

Relax your shoulders,

Drop them slightly,

Make sure the lower back is well supported.

Your feet kissing the ground,

Your hands free and easy,

Resting in your lap,

Palms facing up.

Rest your head in the middle of your shoulders.

Rest your gaze on a still point in front of you or close your eyes and become aware of your inner landscape.

Keep adjusting your body until it feels good for you.

Gathering your awareness and bring it in the here and now.

You can do it.

Feel how all your senses are activated and it feels like a team effort to anchor your awareness into this present moment.

Well done,

You have arrived.

Take a moment to just be.

Rest your awareness in the here and now.

Slowly connect to your breath,

Breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth.

Follow your breath in and out.

In and out.

Notice how the whole process is effortless,

Easy and satisfying.

Breathe a little bit more and focus your awareness on the inhale,

Your in-breath and exhale,

Your out-breath.

Pausing slightly after each inhale and each exhale.

Dance with your breath,

Feel its rhythm and quality.

You are in the here and now,

The now moment,

The most precious moment we all have.

Perhaps you feel your mind is getting in the way,

Worrying,

Solving problems,

Interacting with that person,

Simply just being active.

Because that's what the mind does and that's okay.

No need to feel frustrated.

Instead,

Imagine having a beautiful colorful box right in front of you.

Every time a thought arises,

Drop it into the colorful box.

You don't have to engage with each and every thought right now.

Just place it in the box.

That's absolutely fine.

Let's practice breathing in for a count of three and breathing out for a count of four.

Again,

Pausing after each inhale and exhale.

With each breath,

Fill your whole body up with nourishing energy.

Expand this energy to your mind and your soul.

Feel your body growing in size energetically.

Take a moment to acknowledge what you feel in your body.

Just notice without judgment or attachment.

With every conscious breath you take,

Feel your body relaxing even more.

Invite your breath to go deeper and deeper.

Invite your awareness to go deeper and deeper,

Scanning for old memories.

It's okay.

Take it easy.

There is no need to go there if you don't feel ready to do so.

Begin to notice that the closer you get to the depths of your being,

There is this lightness,

A feeling of acceptance,

A notion that there is nothing that needs changing,

That there is a perfection in all the imperfections.

Allow yourself to feel what you're feeling.

All your feelings are valid.

In the healing arts,

Feeling is healing.

As you are going deeper and deeper,

See if you can notice an aspect of yourself that's asking for your attention.

Take a breath and relax.

You haven't done anything wrong.

You are just a human being going through life and learning from your experiences.

Can you learn without making mistakes?

Let me tell you something.

You can't,

And that's okay.

You are not alone in this.

All humans go through the same or similar hurdles.

You did what you knew best at that time with the awareness and knowledge that you had.

Take a breath and rest your awareness in your heart space.

Which aspect of you is asking for your forgiveness?

Perhaps your emotional body or your shadow body?

What are you open to forgive yourself for?

Imagine how it would feel like not carrying the weight anymore and give yourself permission to drop it.

Notice if you experience any resistance and where in your body do you sense the resistance.

If you probably wish you could forgive yourself but don't know how,

Just imagine your higher self taking over.

The higher self is that part of you that knows everything about you and is here to support and guide you.

Take a deep breath and visualize in your mind's eye a beautiful white light hovering above your head.

Take another deep breath and as you exhale,

Sense the white light coming in through the top of your head and seeping in through your body,

Moving through every cell and atom of your being and then dropping into the ground.

In your imagination,

Run this white light as many times as you wish through your body.

The purpose of this white light is to clear and cleanse the body of any guilt and shame.

Notice how your body and mind feels right now.

Feel the openness and spaciousness created in your physical body.

Take a deep breath in and let out a big sigh.

You are doing great.

Sense the gratitude in your emotional,

Mental,

Physical and spiritual body.

Every atom,

Cell and molecule in your body feels much lighter.

Sense how your whole body vibrates in sync with your breath.

Now bring your attention back to the top of your head.

Imagine a beautiful white light hovering above your head,

This time bringing you love and compassion.

Gently guide this white light through your whole physical body.

Breathing in love and breathing out compassion.

Breathing in love,

Breathing out compassion.

Breathing in love and breathing out compassion.

Allow this new energy to settle into your heart space.

You are welcome to remain in this space for as long as it feels good and right for you.

And when you're ready,

Just gently open your eyes.
