Close your eyes and get comfortable.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Through your mouth,
Sigh it out.
A second deep breath in through your nose and sigh out your day.
Last time,
Inhale and really release.
Begin now to breathe more fluidly and intentionally with full inhales that expand your belly and chest.
How smooth can you make the seams at the top and bottom of each breath?
How even can you make your inhales and exhales?
Notice for a moment where your sense of self is.
Perhaps it's in your head.
Maybe it's even floating somewhere above your head like a balloon attached by a string.
As you take each inhale deep into your belly,
Begin to draw that sense of self down with it.
Starting at the crown of your head,
Feel your sense of self moving under your eyes to your jaw line,
Relaxing each part of you as you go.
Your sense of self moving down into the throat,
To your collarbones,
To your rib cage,
Your heart space,
And all the way down into your belly.
Your mind may try to rebel here and if so,
Honor that.
Because when we have anxiety,
It doesn't feel safe to be in our body,
So we try to exist outside of it.
Compassionately practicing being in our bodies will remind us of the truth,
That we are safe there.
Keep returning to your breath and to the intention of keeping your sense of self in your belly,
In your power center,
In your magic,
Your fire.
Always returning to your breath.
Imagine now a grounding cord out your feet and the base of your spine,
Connecting down deep into the earth's core.
The earth is your provider,
Your protector,
Your first mother.
She who gives you the food and water to nourish you,
The air to sustain you,
The fire to warm you.
Feel her grounded and stable energy beginning at your feet and rising up through your body with each inhale.
At the crown of your head,
Imagine white light pouring in from above,
Filling your body with light.
As you expand on your inhales,
See the light filling every corner,
Every curve,
And radiating out,
Purifying you,
Cleansing you,
Removing injury,
Illness,
Negativity.
See your body as from the outside glowing with this white light.
Feel your body connected to the steady ground and also to the light above.
Let it act as an open vessel for calming energy,
For wisdom,
For inner peace.
Imagine now you're walking through safe and familiar woods at dusk.
You know these trees and rocks like they're your family.
You know the creatures around like old friends.
Keep navigating your way through,
Stepping left foot,
Right foot,
Left foot,
Right foot,
Stepping over fallen logs and ducking underneath branches.
Moving confidently as you reach the edge of the woods to an open field.
In the distance,
You see a gorgeous starry sky and below it,
A large bonfire.
You intuitively know that you are safe here and you start to approach the fire.
Left foot,
Right foot,
Left foot,
Right foot.
Next to the bonfire is a chair and you sit down,
Feeling the warm fires glow on your skin.
Watching the orange and yellow lights flicker and dance against the dark air.
You are weary from your walk and it feels good to sit down.
You take two deep breaths and you watch curiously as a figure appears.
It's a face you'd recognize anywhere because it's your own.
You understand that this is your higher self,
The self that you are striving to be day in and day out.
The all loving,
All knowing,
Compassionate,
Best version of you.
This higher self instructs you to roll out your shoulders and you notice that as you do all of your worries,
Stress,
And anxiety,
All your armor just cracks and slides off your back like a robe dropping off your shoulders.
You instantly notice the weight is gone.
Your higher self kneels before you and begins to untie little weights from your ankles and wrists.
Weights you didn't even know you were carrying around.
You feel cared for.
You feel light.
You feel free.
More weights come off as your higher self tosses them into the fire to be transmuted.
You feel so much gratitude and love for this self,
The one that you are becoming every day.
When the process is complete,
You stand up and embrace your higher self,
Taking a moment to say whatever you wish to say and then listening to whatever message is being delivered to you.
You turn away from the crackling fire and back towards the woods,
Back towards your home,
Right,
Left,
Right,
Left,
Back to the familiar,
Yet feeling different,
Lighter,
At ease,
Capable,
Steady,
Supported,
Not alone.
And with the sense that all you need is you.
Left foot,
Right foot,
Left foot,
Right foot.
And returning now to your body,
To your breath,
To your feet rooted into the earth,
To your crown open to the sky,
To your sense of self at your belly and all that weight just gone.
Carefully bring your awareness back to the room you're in,
The sounds around you,
The air's temperature on your skin,
And with great care,
Blink your eyes open.
