Hello from Headlines and in this session we're going to be combining perhaps three different elements of meditation,

Color therapy and visualization.

We're going to concentrate on wellness and illness.

We always wish everyone well and health and unfortunately we all at some time seem to suffer from various ailments within our body and sometimes within our mind.

And this session is aimed at just listening to and simply observing the relationship between our mind and body.

We must be stressed that this is a subtle aspect of illness and is not a substitute for taking medication or anything like that,

But an accompaniment to this.

If for instance we've broken our leg there's no amount of meditation which you can do or visualization which is going to fix that leg.

You need to go to a hospital and have the leg straightened,

A plaster put on and in time the body will heal the wound.

There will always be a scar left.

So if you're sitting comfortably let's just begin by closing our eyes gently.

And we're borrowing an ancient visualization technique that I believe is from the Chinese tradition.

And we're going to imagine a trickle of water as we're breathing.

And we're going to imagine a well just like wellness deep within our tummy.

So as we breathe in we imagine a trigger of water coming out of our belly button,

Coming up the front of our chest,

Up over the back of our heads,

Down our backs and then into a big well in our back at our lower sacrum as we breathe out.

And then as we breathe in again we imagine this trickle of water going up our bodies over our head,

Down the back and then into the base of the spine into this well.

So just spend about two or three minutes breathing in,

Breathing out,

Visualizing this trickle of water as our breath calms and our breathing slows.

Now we're just going to pay attention to our bodies.

We're just going to scan our bodies as we're breathing in and breathing out.

And as we do this we're just going to feel any points of tension or disease from the inside,

Our inner experience of what this block or tension within us feels like.

Just observing without comment.

And as we breathe in we breathe in a color,

Let's say a golden color,

Into us.

And then as we exhale we just send this color to the area that we need attention,

Where we feel the tension or the disease.

There may be thoughts of how did this happen,

Am I responsible,

Etc etc.

But in truth we don't understand and of course we just let those thoughts be without paying any attention and slowly they will dissolve as we breathe in and just place this golden light within us wherever it needs to go.

If you have another color,

A blue or green or any other color,

Just go with the color that you're seeing in your inner eye.

Again this isn't a color that you will necessarily see when you open your eyes.

This is imagining a color inside of you.

So in the traditional system,

In the Indian system,

The colors signify a different part of your energy centers.

At the bottom of your spine,

Your solar plexus,

Your heart center,

Your throat center,

The middle of your third eye in between your forehead or the head center just above the head.

Each one of them has a different color.

Red,

Yellow,

Green,

Indigo,

Blue,

White,

Or golden.

But don't pay too much attention to that.

It's you with your color,

Breathing in and breathing out.

Just spending time with this watery connection from your mind to your body.

And you may ask yourself,

This is the self with the big S,

Which some people and I refer to as beyond mind or body.

Some quality that you need right now.

It could be love,

Could be touch,

Could be music,

Could be anything.

Just ask yourself what is the quality that you require or need right now.

And take the first image that comes.

And when you've received this image,

Just breathe it in and be with and receive that which you need.

Send it to the area that you find blocked cold with discomfort.

And we're going to finally use a sound.

This is a universal sound or vibration that is commonly used to bring the mind and body into unity or more peace.

So you,

If you like,

Can join me or just listen.

The choice is yours.

To the sound of Om.

The Om starts deep within the belly and rises up through the body,

Finishing with a Mm in the centre of the forehead.

The Mm.

The Mm.

The Mm.

The Mm.

The Om.

The Mm.

The Mm.

The Mm.

Shanti.

Shanti.

Shanti.

Peace.

Peace.

Peace.

And then just rest for a couple of moments.

Just with yourself,

Sending yourself gratitude,

Accepting yourself as you are.

Hopefully feeling just a little lighter,

A little lighter from carrying all of your burdens.

And if there was a bird,

It could carry away on its wings the suffering that you encountered so you can feel just a little freer and more at ease in your life.

So,

Thank you very much for being part of this session.

And from all of us at Headlines,

We wish you well.

Thank you.
