Welcome to this guided meditation to support you in advocating for yourself.
In this practice you will acknowledge your need for self-advocation,
Bring awareness to what may be holding you back from doing it and become empowered to stand up for your wants and needs in life moving forward.
So whether you wish to cultivate more self-advocacy to enhance your relationships,
Accomplish your goals or purely as an act of self-love and self-care for your overall well-being,
This meditation is for you.
To begin,
I invite you to find a comfortable seated position and close your eyes.
Bring your awareness to the natural rhythm of the breath,
Feel the breath moving through your body with ease and grace,
Feeling a softening and relaxation within you,
Feeling supported and unconditionally accepted and loved by each breath.
In life we need to be able to advocate for ourselves and not wait for another person to do it for us.
It's not for us to place an expectation upon another person to understand our needs or desires and to hold them accountable for making sure that we are happy and thriving in life.
Sure,
It is great when others do have the capacity to be so attuned to us,
To what we need and to be our biggest supporter and defender in life,
But we must not solely rely on others for this.
We must become empowered advocates for ourselves and our life.
We are the ones that know ourselves best and throughout our life we must learn to listen to our inner guidance and know what loving decision or action to make and advocate for ourselves when needed.
We must have enough self-awareness,
Self-respect and self-love to keep aligning with our hearts desires and needs.
And it is through clear communication,
Aligned decisions and action taking that we regain our power that we may have denied ourselves previously.
So as you sit here breathing and being present with yourself,
I invite you to contemplate what it is that has been holding you back from advocating for yourself in the past.
Do you feel guilty or like you are a burden somehow?
Do you want to please others?
Do you feel unworthy?
Do you feel like you don't know yourself enough to know what it is you truly want or need?
Take a few minutes here to bring to light whatever it is that has been holding you back.
Be honest and non-judgmental towards yourself as you do this.
Simply be open and curious and allow truth to arise.
Now that you can see what beliefs,
Thoughts or ways of being may need your presence,
Love or wisdom,
Be with it,
Listen to what it needs,
Speak to it,
Bring resolution to it and allow yourself to shift into a more empowered state of consciousness that knows of your innate worthiness so that it is no longer a barrier to self-advocation but instead supports you in it.
Beautiful.
Thank you for taking the time to develop a closer connection to this part of you.
Self-advocacy will allow you to make decisions in your life that feel in alignment with who you are and where you want to go.
It will shift you from a state of victimhood to creatorhood,
Knowing you have the ability to create positive change in your life through your energy,
Words,
Actions and decisions.
To advocate for ourselves we need to become self-aware.
We need to take time to tune in and discover who we are and what we want to do with this precious life of ours,
Or perhaps just what we need in this moment to be healthy and well mentally,
Emotionally,
Physically and spiritually.
We also need to use our voice to express our authentic self,
To speak our truth and to also take action along with the inspiration we receive that will bring us happiness,
Connection or whatever it is that we need.
So take some time now to bring about some self-awareness.
Perhaps ask yourself,
Who are you?
What do you need?
What do you want?
What are your values?
Where are you going?
Release any pressure to receive all the answers to all the things right now.
Just tune in and with a genuine heart want to know yourself and want to know how you can best support you.
And take a final moment here before we begin to end this meditation.
When we meet our needs,
Offer ourselves love and respect and provide care and nourishment on all levels of our being,
We can live a life feeling fulfilled,
Empowered and at peace with who we are and what we are doing in this life.
We know that what we need to feel more balanced,
Well and healthy and we do that.
We know when we feel depleted,
Unhappy and aren't following our joy,
So we shift that.
It is an act of self-love to advocate for yourself.
You may be so selfless and give so much to others,
But it is so important to give love and care to yourself too.
In turn you can then be of even greater service to others through the increase in your energy levels,
In your happiness and in your authentic embodiment of who you are.
So don't be afraid of knowing what you want or need and creating the space and time to do it.
Use your voice assertively to communicate what you need to.
Be creative in creating space in your day to put towards things that fill your cup.
Ask for help from others if you need support in a certain area of your life.
Tune in and listen to your own inner guidance to bring to light inspiration or the next step to take.
So I invite you here to take 3 final deep conscious breaths.
Breathing into the new empowered state of being within you now.
Breathing into the source of self-advocacy.
And when you feel ready you can open your eyes.
Go forth feeling more connected to who you are,
Knowing your worthiness and being confident in your ability to communicate and stand up for your rights,
Wants and needs.
