Welcome to this short breathing practice to release stress and find a sense of calm and ease in this moment.

Right now you may be feeling triggered,

Fearful,

Overwhelmed and just really stressed out.

You want to feel better,

More at peace.

You don't want to react and do or say something that you know you will regret later.

So let's take 5 minutes here to just be present and breathe.

It is up to you whether you want to close your eyes and sit down.

Or you may want to be standing or lying down and have a soft gaze looking out at something in your environment.

Whatever is best for you right now in your situation.

So when you are ready I invite you to place both hands on your belly.

On or just below the navel.

And just take a moment to notice how the pressure of your hands feel against your body.

I invite you to begin to breathe slowly and deeply.

In through the nose and out through the mouth.

As you inhale feel your belly expanding and inflating as the air gets pushed down into your stomach.

And as you exhale feel the belly as it contracts and the breath flows up and out through your mouth.

For the next few minutes at your own pace take some deep belly breaths.

Being conscious of your belly and the breath as it rises and falls.

Bring your full presence to it and allow any stress and tension to simply surrender and release.

Allow yourself to soften,

Relax and feel the effects of this calming and cleansing process.

Beautiful,

Well done.

Take a final few deep belly breaths here and then allow the breath to ease back to its natural regulated rhythm.

Notice how you feel now on all levels of your being.

You can remove your hands from your belly and place them on your heart as you give thanks to yourself for taking this time just for you.

And when you feel ready you can open your eyes and bring this new state of being forward into your day.

Feeling connected,

More balanced and more at ease no matter the situation.
