Okay so hi and welcome to your springtime meditation,
This is for the follicular phase of your cycle.
So during this phase we may feel an emergence of energy within us,
Like the blooming of a flower bud.
We use this meditation to release anything old and stagnant that is no longer serving us so that we can make space for what is ready to come through us as we allow new energy to rise,
We remain grounded in truth and in integrity.
So find a comfortable seat,
Spine tall,
Shoulders relaxed and feel your body heavy and grounded like a tree rooted in the earth,
Make any adjustments so that you feel supported and held and then take a moment to really feel the support of the earth beneath you,
Feel the stability of your pelvis holding you and feel or sense yourself rooting down,
Held in supported in your seat.
You can start to deepen your breath and as we move through this meditation we will release any stagnation left over in our bodies from our inner winter in order to make space for new life,
New thoughts,
New energy and so noticing your breath and feel how the breath moves in and out slowly and effortlessly just through the nose and feeling the natural pause that occurs at the top of the inhale and at the bottom of the exhale.
Notice the space between one breath and another,
Notice the space between one thought and another,
And the space between one moment and another.
Now feeling your body grounded in the earth and with your breath feel how each inhale travels from the base of your spine up into your heart and there is a subtle pause in the heart and then as you exhale,
Exhaling from the heart up and out the crown of your head.
So as the body remains heavy and grounded,
Feel how your breath lifts you up and allows you to bloom up and out through the crown.
Feeling your breath inhaling from root to heart,
Exhaling from heart to crown,
Inhaling from root to heart,
Little pause,
Exhaling from heart to crown.
Exhale,
Feel the energy draw up from the root to your heart,
Exhale from the heart up and out the crown and continue like this on your own and following the rhythm of your breath,
Feeling your body heavy and the energy drawing up from the earth like a tree in springtime.
Feeling how your breath supports you and feeling how your body holds you in integrity and feeling each inhale,
Sense of drawing the energy up,
Gathering in your heart center and exhaling a sense of releasing anything that is no longer serving you.
So you are making space,
You are releasing,
You are letting go and in the process of creating space you allow time and energy for new things to bloom,
New experiences,
New life,
New pattern.
Continuing like this,
Inhaling from root to heart,
Exhaling from heart to crown,
Release and bloom.
As you sit with this awareness feel that central line,
The channel of energy being drawn up,
Feel how your spine is tall but your outer shell can be really soft and you are following the rhythm of your breath allowing it to lead,
Allowing it to take you a little higher and placing your body as the perfect fertile ground for you to begin again.
Keep focusing on your breathing for these last few moments here,
Inhaling from root to heart,
Exhaling from heart to crown,
Growing and emerging.
And then when you are ready releasing the technique and just breathing naturally,
Noticing now how stable your body feels,
Noticing the lightness of the breath as it moves gently in and out,
No effort.
Do you feel lighter and yet heavier at the same time?
Can you experience these polarities existing simultaneously within you?
Very gently place your left hand on your heart and place your right hand over it and very gently press your hands into your skin so that you feel the impression of the boundary.
Taking a few deep breaths into your lungs,
Feeling how your lungs expand and press against your hands,
Sensitive to the life force that exists within you.
Continue breathing deeply here.
And then when you are ready releasing your hands to meet at your heart center and from here gently bow your chin to your chest,
Your head to your heart for growth and new beginnings,
And the knowledge that life cannot exist without death,
Light cannot exist without dark,
And yin cannot exist without yang.
To all that exists within you,
Together we bow.
Thank you.
