Namaste,
My name is Hannah.
Welcome to your yoga nidra practice.
You might want to grab a blanket and maybe a small pillow for underneath your head.
If you have any lower back tension you might want a soft pillow for underneath your knees.
Get as comfortable as you possibly can.
This yoga nidra practice is extremely powerful.
It may be that during the practice strong emotions rise to the surface to be released.
If this happens and it feels uncomfortable,
Simply breathe in deeply through the nose and breathe out the feeling,
The emotion through your heart.
Release it through your heart.
The heart is the gateway to all emotional healing.
Okay,
So getting ready now.
Getting ready to heal.
Lying down in shavasana,
Corpse pose.
Close your eyes.
Release all muscular tension from your body now.
Feel yourself noticing how deeply connected you are to the earth.
You are safe and you are supported here.
Allowing your thoughts to slow down and your body to become still.
Forget your worries for this short time.
Let them go.
This is time for you.
Just you.
There is nothing to know or do.
Simply be.
Have a final wriggle around now and adjust your blanket,
Your clothes or anything else so that you can enjoy this deeply healing practice in luxurious comfort.
Okay,
So now take a deep breath in through your nose.
Hold it.
Exhale and relax.
Take another deep breath in,
Feeling your belly and chest expand.
Hold it.
And as you exhale,
Letting go even further.
One last deep breath in.
Hold it.
And as you exhale,
You'll let go completely.
Releasing and letting go.
Now in your mind,
Say to yourself,
I will not sleep.
I will remain awake for the entire duration of this healing yoga nidra session.
Becoming aware of the sounds in the distance.
Allow your sense of hearing to operate as a light beam.
Searching out distance sounds and tracking them for a few seconds.
Listen to the pure quality of each sound.
As if you have never heard it before.
As if it were completely new to you.
Can you notice the silence behind each sound?
Vast.
Powerful.
Infinite.
Gradually bringing your awareness to the sounds closer to you.
The sounds outside your room.
Tune in to the nearest sound that you can hear.
Now notice your breath.
Gently rising and falling.
Resting deeply.
Effortless awareness.
Simply being.
Yoga nidra has now begun.
Now is the time for your sankalpa.
Your heartfelt resolve.
We can think of sankalpa,
Which is a Sanskrit word for the word.
As your intention for this practice.
It's always presented as a positive affirmation.
And it's always in the present tense.
An I am statement.
When you formulate a sankalpa for yourself.
You're planting a seed that will germinate and then grow and thrive.
And bloom within your life.
If you're not currently working with a sankalpa.
You might choose.
I am healing deeply.
At all levels of my mind.
Body and spirit.
Silently repeat your sankalpa.
Three times.
Feel the energy.
Of your sankalpa within you.
And all around you.
You can vividly feel the vibrations of your heartfelt resolve.
And the energy of your sankalpa.
And the energy of your sankalpa.
Within you.
And all around you.
The vibrations of your heartfelt resolve.
Resonating from your being.
And now let it go.
Now.
We're going to alter your conscious awareness.
By focusing on various parts of your body.
A series of energetic points will be named.
Allow your mind to jump from point to point.
As you hear it.
You might mentally repeat the name of each body parts after you hear it.
Begin by bringing your awareness to the right hand.
Your right hand thumb.
Second finger.
Third finger.
Fourth finger.
Little finger.
The palm of the hand.
The back of the hand.
Right wrist.
Lower arm.
Elbow.
Upper arm.
And shoulder.
The armpit.
The right side hip.
Thigh.
Back of the thigh.
Right kneecap.
Back of the knee.
Right shin.
Calf muscle.
Ankle.
The sole of the right foot.
Top of the foot.
The right big toe.
Second toe.
Third.
Fourth.
And the fifth toe.
Awareness of the whole right side of the body.

Now bring your awareness to the left hand side of the body.

The upper lip.

Now the major groups of body parts.
The whole right leg.

Abdomen and chest.
The whole of the front and back sides of the body.
Together.

Now bring your awareness to the natural flow of the breath.
Notice your belly gently rising up and down.
Effortless awareness of the breath.
Feel the breath moving within you.
Now feel the breath moving from the navel to the throat.
Inhale in a straight line from the navel up to the throat.
And exhale in a straight line back down from the throat to the navel.
Use your lungs fully.
Inhaling navel to throat.
And exhaling throat to navel.
Be completely aware of the breath.
Nothing else.
The mind is fully aware of the breath.
Not missing a single exhale.
Be with your breath fully now.
Enjoying your breath.
Now awaken to the feeling of heaviness in the body.
The body feels extremely heavy now.
You can feel gravity pulling your body down into the earth beneath you.
Experience the sensation that you are so heavy that you are sinking down further and further,
Deeper and deeper into the earth.
Intensify your awareness of the heaviness of the body.
Now awaken your senses to the feeling of lightness.
Your body has become light and airy and tingly.
It's so light that you can feel it rising up into the air above the floor beneath you.
You are weightless and you seem to be floating now.
You are hovering above the floor.
You seem to be floating on air.
Intensify your awareness of the lightness of the body.
Now experience the sensation of being bitterly cold.
Experience freezing cold all throughout your body.
Imagine your lips are going blue and your teeth are chattering.
Picture yourself in an icy winter landscape with powerful freezing winds.
You are shivering.
You feel frozen all over your body.
Freezing coldness all over your body.
Intensify your awareness of the cold.
Now experience the sensation of intense heat.
Your whole body is scorching hot.
You are sweating.
Imagine it's high summer and you are underneath the boiling sun.
You're burning red hot.
Your whole body,
As red and hot as the embers of a roaring fire.
Intensify your awareness of heat.
Now recreate the experience of pain.
Remember you are safe and supported here.
Feel the pain of the body.
The mental anguish.
The emotional distress.
All the pain you have experienced in your life.
Allow yourself to relive the intensity of those sensations here and now.
Intensify your awareness of pain.
Recreate the sweet exquisite sensations of pleasure.
Allow yourself to feel the deep pleasure of the body.
The comfort of a loving embrace.
The bliss of inner stillness.
The peace and enchantment found in the forest.
Amplify this sensation of pleasure as much as possible.
Intensify your awareness of pleasure.
Remaining awake.
Now see yourself in a beautiful botanical garden just before dawn.
The sun is about to rise and you are all alone.
It's so peaceful,
Calm and relaxing.
You listen to the birds sing and call to each other as they welcome the first moments of a new day.
Up ahead there's a large open meadow.
Wildflowers of every colour and variety are blossoming.
And eagerly waiting for the morning sun to feed them.
Everything is perfectly still and silent.
Not even the slightest breath of wind.
In the centre of the garden is a large water fountain.
But you walk away from the fountain down a rough path.
Which leads you to a clearing in an old forest.
In the centre of the clearing is a small stone temple.
You make your way towards it.
As you get closer you can see an aura of radiant bright light surrounding it.
The entrance to the temple is an open doorway which has a sign above it.
Your name is written on this sign.
The temple has been waiting for you.
You walk inside.
It is cool and dark.
There are intricate carvings on the walls of mythical creatures and saints,
Yogis and shamans.
Your nostrils are filled with a scent of exotic incense.
This temple is known by the wise ones as a sacred place for deep and profound healing.
You sit down on a woolen blanket in the middle of the floor.
You close your eyes and become still and perfectly silent.
You feel completely safe as you connect to the earth beneath you.
A deep sense of harmony spreads throughout your entire being and you are ready to receive healing now.
All sounds,
Lights and shadows fade further and further away from you.
You are healing deeply now.
Every cell of your body is being bathed in sacred medicine.
You can feel energetic blocks rising to the surface and being released.
Old traumas leave your body.
Past hurts leave your body.
Limiting beliefs leave your body.
You are healing.
You stay inside the temple,
Receiving your sacred medicine for many hours.
Releasing and healing.
Everything that needs to be released today is going.
Perfect peace and harmony pervade your entire being.
We will now observe five minutes of complete silence to integrate this profound healing.
Continue remaining still,
Relaxed and awake.
