Take a deep breath in and release.
Settle into your body and the space around you,
Noticing the sounds and the temperature,
The smell of the air,
Any sensations on your skin.
And next I invite you to turn your focus inward.
First let's check in.
How are you really doing?
The warmth of the season can feel so welcomed,
Especially being able to finally say that it's summertime.
But if there are other feelings present or showing up for you now,
That is okay.
The transition into the summer season happens no matter if we are ready or not.
And so it is normal to have residual emotions from seasons past trailing along behind you.
Maybe feelings of anxiety,
Fear,
Or worry.
Maybe feelings of sluggishness,
Avoidance,
Or anger.
Or maybe a little of all of it.
Right now,
Place your hand on your heart.
Take a moment to notice the space behind your hand,
Inside your chest.
The feeling inside.
What do you sense?
Can you identify what's in there right now?
Go ahead and sift through the feelings that are present and identify anything that no longer serves you.
These emotions,
Thoughts,
And memories have been enjoying a free ride into the summer,
But their journey ends right here.
Quietly to yourself,
Put a name to those feelings.
Sit with them and allow them to be welcomed.
Let them know you are grateful for the lessons they've taught you,
But they are no longer needed in order for you to feel protected.
In a moment,
We are going to release these feelings using our breath.
Right now,
You can drop your hand and place both of your hands,
Palms up,
On your knees,
Thighs,
Or just in your lap.
Begin to relax the shoulders and neck with deep intention.
Relax your jaw and eyebrows,
Your knees,
Calves,
Ankles,
And feet.
Sinking deeper and deeper into the surface beneath you and letting go of the past.
And gently coming back into your most authentic self,
The real you.
As you breathe,
Imagine every deep inhale as an active cleansing and every exhale as a removal of these feelings.
Take a deep breath in,
Filling your lungs as full as possible,
And then sigh it all out.
Another deep breath in and out.
One more,
Breathing in gratitude and breathing out all of those feelings that you defined earlier.
Releasing them into the air as they rise above you,
Dissipating,
Diluting,
And vanishing.
Now let's bring forward what you'll intentionally bring into the coming days with you.
Maybe it's a word,
A feeling,
Or intention.
Define it now.
Take a moment to see and understand it clearly.
This world is a magical place full of excitement and adventure,
Full of warm summer nights and waterfalls,
Fields of wildflowers and honeybees,
Backyard gardens,
Live music and playfulness.
And by taking the time to define the path you want to walk,
You are helping make your life even more purposeful.
When we are intentional,
We can truly experience presence.
We are able to deeply soak in that hike,
Run,
Trip,
Or ride.
We are unblocked and are able to feel a sense of wonder and gratitude.
We can appreciate the little things that are easily taken for granted.
And all of these things,
Curiosity,
Presence,
Wonder,
And gratefulness,
Are tools for us to use on our journey of embodying our highest selves and live out the season with purpose.
Take a few more moments to let this all sink in.
And now begin to breathe a little deeper.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
Begin to gently bat your eyes open,
Keeping your gaze soft when you are ready.
And going into the rest of your day and the rest of your week,
Make sure to bring along your intention with you.
Keep it close and continue to come back to it.
And if you need,
You can repeat this meditation to reconnect and sink back in.
Namaste.
