In this walking meditation, you will be guided in connecting deeper to the natural world around you. No matter if you are in the city or country, if you are somewhere new or familiar this meditation will help you enhance your relationship with nature. There is no background music in this track intentionally so that you are able to hear the sounds coming from your surroundings and appreciate them from a new perspective. This meditation is great for those new to forest bathing and does not require a forest to do so.

During this walking meditation,

I'd like for you to release any rules or boundaries you may have around how to meditate.

During our time together,

We are going to be connecting with a deep sense of gratitude for the natural world and the space around us.

And so whatever way you decide to move while connecting with this meditation is welcome.

You can walk methodically,

You can stop and take breaks,

You can look around,

You can hug a tree,

You can jump a stream,

Or climb up rocks.

Whatever your way may be is the way you should meditate.

First,

Let's fill our lungs,

Taking a deep,

Healing breath in,

Finding gratitude for that air.

And then as you release,

Release anything that no longer serves you.

Do this two more times.

Being conscious of your breath and conscious of what you're releasing.

Look around you.

What do you see?

Have you been on this path before or are you somewhere new?

Begin to notice the beautiful aspects of the macro.

What do you see on the horizon?

How tall are the trees?

What color is the sky today?

Begin to bring your scope a little closer.

What do you see on the path ahead?

Take a peek back and notice what's on the path behind you.

What's nearby?

Are there flowers or bushes?

Shrubs?

Smaller trees?

Birds?

Bugs?

Taking it all in.

I invite you to put on a new lens,

To take on a new perspective.

See it through the lens of wonder.

Notice details,

Colors,

Builds and makeups,

Connections and patterns.

Give yourself permission to take the time to reconnect with your curiosity.

What are the tones and the sounds of nature that you can hear right now?

What sensations do you feel on your skin?

Can you feel the sun or the wind?

Can you hear your own footsteps?

Something that's easily forgotten is that we aren't in nature,

We are nature.

Though it may seem like we have a choice when it comes to experiencing nature,

We are always nature,

We are always a part of nature.

But this connection is heightened and more vibrant when we are out in the natural world,

When we are connecting with other living things,

Other energy forces that are vibrating and radiating their beauty.

And just as a butterfly witnesses a flower and the flower witnesses the butterfly,

We witness nature and nature also witnesses us.

We used to be so interwoven and connected to nature and now most of us live disconnected.

Consider a time where an element,

An aspect of nature was absent from your life.

Maybe you live somewhere that can go many months without seeing rain.

Maybe you are in an area that experiences winter and you don't feel warmth.

Or maybe you've noticed certain animals that migrate away for a portion of the year but then eventually come back.

So too,

Does the natural world notice our absence and is happy when we return.

And happy simply because we were missed.

We are the lovers and the protectors and the warriors of the natural world.

We are the ones who are able to preserve it,

To help heal it,

To maintain it,

And to most importantly learn about it.

We have the capacity to create a deep relationship and spending time in nature as nature is what will strengthen that.

And so as you walk today,

Say hello.

Say hello to the plants and the animals.

Give gratitude for the sun and the trees.

Notice anything that does not belong and pick it up and take it to where it goes.

Don't let your relationship with Mother Nature be one-sided.

Create a synergy and a potent connection.

As we exhale,

The trees inhale.

As the trees exhale,

We inhale.

Take another deep breath in and release.

Connecting again with your heart space and with your mind.

Conjuring up that gratitude,

That love,

That appreciation,

And just sending it out in your energy field.

Taking the time to notice the beauty of Mother Earth,

Of Mother Nature,

To witness.

We are the ones that are able to witness,

That are able to appreciate,

That are able to be in deep reverence and gratitude.

And as you finish up your walk today,

Spend some time contemplating this relationship.

What you want to give to it and how you want to show up.

Thank you for letting me join you on your walk today.

Namaste.
