Welcome to this guided meditation on the Kabbalistic Sphira,
The divine aspect of Gvura.
Gvura can be translated as strength or judgment or boundaries or restriction.
And in this practice,
We will go into our internal world,
Into our direct experience to relate to this Sphira,
To this divine aspect together.
So go ahead and find a comfortable place to sit.
If you're holding anything in your hands,
You can simply let them go.
Just gently close the eyes.
And first,
We return to the breath.
The breath is guiding us back into presence.
So we simply allow the inhale and the exhale to connect us to this moment of now.
And as we are sinking into presence,
We invite the wisdom of this Kabbalistic Sphira of Gvura to shine a light in our internal world.
There are many teachings on this aspect.
Some relate to it as the form or the boundaries,
The shape that creates existence.
So just like a river has the water that flows through it,
It actually also has the river banks that contain and hold the water.
And it's because of this containment that the river is formed.
So Gvura is this aspect of containment,
Of drawing the lines,
Of feeling the shapes and the form of creation.
Because it's related to holding the line,
Sometimes people think of it as boundaries.
Boundaries are what allow for the life force to come in and to fill up creation.
Without boundaries,
We would not know who we are or who another is.
So go ahead and see in your internal state,
Your relationship to this aspect of containment of boundaries.
In Kabbalah,
We say that there is the light and there's a vessel.
And there's this relationship between the light and the vessel.
The light is our soul and the vessel is our bodies.
So just as a vessel holds the light,
Our bodies hold our soul.
And Gvura is this aspect of the vessel.
It receives the light of creation and contains it.
So I want you to imagine that around your body,
There's this container,
Perhaps an energetic bubble that is holding you.
You can actually surrender your light into that container.
And first,
We just want to check what is this container like?
What is the texture of this container?
What is the shape of it?
You can imagine it around two to three inches outside of your body,
Creating this beautiful energetic bubble.
The stronger that we know our form,
The easier it gets to fill up that form.
So we're just going to take this moment to experiment with the form we take up.
What energetic structure is holding us?
So take a moment and play around with this vessel of you.
Is this shape of the field that's holding you,
Is it working for you?
Or perhaps,
Do you want to play with another shape?
And you can see,
Perhaps at first it starts being like a circle and then it forms into a square or a diamond,
Or perhaps it's permeable or less permeable.
Perhaps there's different colors that come with it.
Just allow for your mind's eye,
For your consciousness.
Without getting into the mind,
You don't need to think about it.
Just letting consciousness on its own play with the form.
As you're doing that,
Notice if there's any leaks or holes in the container.
When there's a leak or a hole in the container,
That means that our light or our soul is escaping our field and perhaps other things that we might not want are coming in.
So we want to tend to our container.
This is the practice of gvura.
This is why sometimes gvura is translated to strength or power or discipline because it is that which gifts us this capacity to tend to our form.
And sometimes we need a lot of strength to do that.
So go ahead and just feel your own strength and your own power to really create the container that would allow for your soul essence to come through more fully.
What sort of container or vessel or field is your soul desiring?
How could you imagine that holding you in this moment?
And then these last moments,
Just notice what the impact,
Being aware of our container of our vessel,
How it shapes us,
How it impacts us.
Perhaps this is a practice we want to keep on returning to,
To tend to our field,
To tend to the container that holds us.
So when we get scattered at times,
We know to return back to this power that we have to reshape what our souls might be needing,
To tend to our vessels.
So just take one last moment here to complete this practice.
Gently you can return to the breath,
To this here now,
Slowly and gently opening the eyes,
Looking around and stretching the body.
And thank you so much for joining me for this practice of gvura,
This practice of tending to our fields,
To our vessels,
Playing with shapes and forms.
I hope it nourished you.
I hope it nourished you.
