Welcome to this meditation using the Awe Method.
I'm Jen Alio from Guided Being brought to you through the Connection Effect.
As you find your meditation posture,
This may be seated with your feet flat on the ground,
With your seat connected to the surface beneath it,
And your spine in a long and dignified yet relaxed hold.
Your chin could be slightly tucked with the crown of your head reaching skywards.
You may even like to do this meditation while lying down,
With your feet naturally falling away from each other,
Allowing the muscles within your body to sink into the surface beneath them,
Softening your facial features,
And in either position,
Allowing your breath to flow.
And as your breath flows with a natural rhythm,
With the cadence of being present,
The presence that arises from the natural process of living,
With the breath moving into the body,
And the breath moving away from the body.
There's nothing to do to influence the breath.
You're simply resting your awareness on this natural phenomenon,
The breath,
That is with us from the moment we are born,
In all the spaces in between,
To the moment that we cease existence.
And there's comfort that lies in this,
Knowing that there is a life-preserving,
Life-holding,
Life-sustaining process that's outside of your conscious awareness,
Simply there to support you,
To hold you in this vast space that's known as life.
And as you continue to flow through your breath,
You might become aware of what's moving through your being this morning,
Or indeed this evening,
Or at any point of your day.
Knowing that sensations,
Emotions,
And thoughts are a natural occurrence of being human.
Sometimes our attention gets caught on a sensation,
An emotion,
Or a thought,
And our breath is a reminder to allow this to move through the vast awareness of our sky.
Just like clouds moving in the endless boundary of the atmosphere above us.
No need to hold,
No need to grasp or attach.
Simply watching with curiosity,
Like one might do when they're laying in a beautiful,
Safe field,
Gazing up at the sky that seems to go on and on and on.
Watching the shifting shapes of the various clouds that move through,
Perhaps some higher,
Perhaps some lower than others.
Some with quite structured shapes,
Others that seem to be moving constantly.
And you are the observer,
The one who watches with curiosity,
With this open awareness,
For all that may arise is welcome.
Just like the sky doesn't prioritize one type of cloud or another,
Knowing that weather systems certainly influence,
However,
They too are temporary,
Constantly moving in flow with the rhythm of the earth.
And as you continue to allow your breath to move your lungs in a way that enables this flow of breath,
You may become aware of the sixth sense of awareness,
This meta awareness,
Being aware of being aware.
Watching this,
Softening your outlook with kindness and compassion for allowing yourself this space and this time to be here.
Almost taking an equanimous view to all that may arise in the landscape of your being.
There's not a preference.
There's no need to categorize.
Simply allowing all that moves through your sky of awareness to do so.
And as you continue to practice this awareness,
This watching,
This equanimous view,
You may become aware of heartfeltness that arises when the mind and the heart mingle.
And they mingle in this space that you have created in practicing and trusting yourself,
Making yourself welcome where you are.
If you notice worrying or ruminating,
A sense of being out of balance by a certain situation,
Try to pause just for a moment.
So you can refocus your attention on the experience in the present moment.
Using your awareness of being aware,
Can you let this feeling be?
Can you let this thought that perhaps you have become aware of,
Simply be there without following it,
Adding to it,
Shifting it,
Trying to change it.
Instead,
Becoming aware of the cycle,
Perhaps of thoughts,
Related sensations and emotions,
And shifting your relationship to each one of these very important elements of being human.
Moving into the seat of the conscious observer,
Allowing yourself this concept that we are not our thoughts,
Nor our sensations,
Or our emotions.
They are certainly experiences that are moved through.
And when we rest our attention on the flow of our breath,
Opening our field of awareness to be like the vast boundless sky,
Watching with a balanced view,
An equanimous view,
Not good,
Not bad,
Simply is.
Building this intuitive trust in yourself,
Knowing that you can hold it all without the grasping,
The aversion,
The suppression,
Simply being with what is.
Or it's here anyway.
And there's a sense of knowing that arises when you apply this all meditation model.
This sense that you're being held by the process itself,
Being held by the modality itself.
Similar to when a mother or a father holds a child,
Not trying to take away the experience of the child,
But simply holding,
Allowing the child to move through what they're moving through,
Knowing that they have a safe and secure adult,
Supporting them,
Allowing,
Acknowledging.
Unconditionally,
This presence of unconditional love that you hold towards yourself.
You may become aware of cycles or clouds that return to your sky of awareness,
And that's natural.
They'll simply continue to move through.
As you shift your relationship once more to being the witness of your experience in the present moment,
Of now,
With your breath holding you,
Reserving any judgment,
And accepting all that is.
And you can continue to flow through this breath cycle,
This or cycle of awareness,
Of watching,
And being a quantum for as long as you choose.
You might sense,
Become aware or notice small shifts,
Perhaps not.
Just being with what is.
And as you allow yourself the space,
This time,
Giving deep gratitude for simply experiencing this present moment as it is.
Know that you can rest here,
Or you can return to post-meditation,
Otherwise known as life.
Any time that you choose,
You may even find that this open,
Aware field of acceptance comes with you.
And when you're ready,
And only when you're ready,
You can return to a seated position or blink your eyes open,
Acknowledging where you are in this time,
In this place,
And this space,
With deep gratitude.
