Your day is over and it's time to rest.

Regardless of how your day has been so far,

How much you got done,

How busy it was,

How happy it was,

How frustrating it was,

In this moment now,

It's time to let go of all of that and get ready to rest.

So take your time getting into a comfortable position and notice if you're rushing.

Notice if you're rushing to start this meditation.

Notice if you're rushing to slow down your breath or to get into a specific position.

Take your time.

You don't have to rush anymore.

Your day is over and it's time to rest.

So take your time getting into your comfortable position.

Start to notice your breath and take a deep breath in through your nose and let it go through your mouth.

One more like that,

Letting your exhale help you release any tension in your body and close your eyes if you haven't already.

Now come back to your natural breath as you take a second to focus on your face.

Soften the skin of your forehead.

Relax the space between your eyebrows.

Unclench your jaw.

Let your cheeks relax.

Let your whole face and your whole head soften.

Shift your attention to the rest of your body and notice if any areas are feeling tense.

Try to let that go on your next exhale.

Really allowing your body to be heavy and relaxed.

And if you realize as you're doing this that you're being distracted by thoughts that are popping up,

Don't worry.

It's normal to be thinking about your day or things that are going to happen tomorrow.

Just notice that those thoughts are occurring and then let them go by shifting your attention back to your body and your breath.

Remember that your day is over and it's time to rest.

If it helps,

You can silently repeat this to yourself in your head.

My day is over and it's time to rest.

Inhale with my day is over.

Exhale with it's time to rest.

And it's normal to be reflecting on the things that happen today or taking stock of the things that you need to do tomorrow.

But just trust that your future self will handle all of these things.

There will be things to do in the future and things that have happened in the past,

But dwelling on either of them now serves no purpose.

Give yourself permission to let it all go because in this moment there is nothing you can do to change those things.

The best thing you can do is allow yourself to rest so that you're recharged and feeling good tomorrow.

Your day is over.

It's time to rest.

Let go of any feelings of urgency or tension.

Let go of any need to control what is happening.

Allow your body to be heavy.

Allow your eyes to be heavy in your eye sockets.

Allow your face to relax.

Allow your shoulders to relax.

And enjoy the feeling of heaviness.

Because right now there is nothing for you to do.

Your day is over.

It's time to rest.

And know already that you will have a deep and restorative sleep.

Your day is over.

It's time to rest.

Good night.
