Hi,
You're listening to Ambie from Gospel Talk and this will be the first in a series of meditations,
Christian meditations,
Where we will reflect upon a passage of the Bible and we'll go into a deep meditative state and find a source of real peace and joy in the Spirit.
I thought I'd begin with on praying on the matter,
On the passage from Ephesians 4.
31,
And that is,
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamour and slander be put away from you along with all malice.
Now we've got to wonder sometimes in life we feel angry and wrathful and bitter and we can even be drawn into situations that will try and bring out fear and anger in the situation.
But we're already forgiven in Christ,
So how do we do this?
Well of course we're going to feel angry sometimes,
That's only natural and there's no need to repress that anger.
But what the passage I believe really is,
What the passage I believe really refers to is that when these things arise that we take time to reflect,
Pray,
Meditate,
Spend time with Christ and forgive ourselves so we can forgive others.
And any bitterness and wrath or anger,
Clamour or slander we may feel,
We wrap ourselves up,
Our hearts up,
As it says in Proverbs,
Above all else,
Guard your heart for it is the wellspring of life.
It's important to guard our hearts,
Not to put a solid wall between us and the world or people,
But to guard our hearts in a way that we realise we're precious children in Christ.
God loves us,
The Holy Spirit fills us,
Therefore we need to guard our hearts.
There's plenty of spiritual attack around and you'll find that you're not really fighting people,
Probably spirits and principalities,
So it's important to be with people that can pray with you,
Christian brothers and sisters that can support you.
And also to meditate,
So we will meditate on Ephesians 4.
31.
Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamour and slander be put away from you along with all malice.
We will begin by getting ourselves into a meditative state and find yourself somewhere peaceful and comfortable to lie down or sit down.
If it's cool,
Cover yourself with a blanket and if it's warm,
Make sure that you're in a cool,
Cool space.
We will begin by breathing in and breathing out and as we breathe in,
We are reminded of the Holy Spirit within us.
Breathe out any,
Any form of malice or bitterness or wrath or anger that may be residing in our spirits or our hearts or our minds and bodies.
And breathe in again.
Breathe in Christ God,
Holy Spirit.
We will be filled with your peace and joy.
You love us.
Hold our hearts.
We are your children and we are dearly loved.
We are not worthy but you love us anyway.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
God,
Your heart.
Imagine yourself as a little child holding your heart,
Holding your little child and just looking into the eyes of her little soul or his little soul,
Sweet little cheeks and knowing you're a precious child of God.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
You will protect this child from any form of wrath or anger or bitterness.
If things come in your way that provoke,
You will be there to love and nurture that child.
If the child becomes scared or worried,
Anxious,
Angry,
You are there to comfort that child because you are a child of Christ and you have the greatest tools and the greatest love ever for the whole of eternity for this child.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Before you were made,
When you were being knitted inside your mother's womb,
God knew every tiny little detail about you.
He knows every speck,
Every cell,
Every hair on your head,
Every thought,
Every desire,
Every feeling and he is there for you.
Breathe in.
Hold and breathe out.
Tell this child how much it is loved.
Stroke its cheeks and hair.
Lanch its rocket gently whispering,
You are loved,
You are loved.
We would never hold up to any expectation other than that Christ died for our sins and as he said,
It is done.
We need not do anything further other than love him and follow his ways because his ways are best.
That brings peace into our spirits.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
This body which is the temple of our soul,
May we look after it and nurture it through prayer,
Through meditation,
Through healing work,
Through good relationships,
Through wise choices,
Discernment and wisdom.
To be around healthy individuals and know that you are worthy of these things,
To receive the blessings that you have been given.
For we already know the blessings are there.
It is up to us to receive them.
Open your hands wide and praise the Lord and breathe in.
Breathe out.
Receive the blessings that you have been freely given.
For God loves you so much.
You are loved,
You are loved.
Just be still and know that he is God,
The most high God,
Creator.
His wisdom is infinite,
His word forever.
Whatever we try and do will always be limited compared to if we let God be.
Think of fear and of hell and faith in our trust in God.
God is in us.
He is God.
He is God.
He is God.
He is God.
God is God.
God is God.
God is God.
God is precious.
The joy of Christ entering into you,
Cleaning out any parts of you that are filled with old bitterness,
Old grievances,
Any anger.
Forgive yourself and you can forgive others.
He is a good,
Good God.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Rest in him.
Hand your heavy burdens and take his yoke of light.
Light in every sense,
Physically,
Mentally,
Spiritually.
These gifts are for us.
How amazing.
Hold that child in your heart and you are loved.
Breathe in and out.
Allow any tension in your body to drift and melt away.
Drift and melt away.
And take yourself into the infinite creation of our God.
It is vast.
It is mighty.
He is wonderful.
Our one God.
So as we finish this meditation,
Take a deep breath in and another out.
Another in.
And on the count of three,
You will slowly start to be aware of the sounds around you.
Come back into the present moment as you are on this earth,
So it be in heaven.
Open your eyes and God bless you always.
Amen.
God bless you.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
Amen.
