Transcript

Welcome to your five-minute breathing meditation.

My name is Colette and it is an honor to be guiding this practice.

Before we begin,

Make sure you're comfortable and when you are ready,

Starting to find your chosen posture.

Begin to give yourself permission to come into stillness and softening any tension you may be holding on to in your upper body,

Any tension in your shoulders,

A go of your jaw,

Softening through your legs and toes.

And check in with your breathing,

Starting to notice a very natural rise and fall of your breath,

Noticing how your chest rises on the inhale and falls on the exhale.

And if you'd like to,

You can begin to deepen or lengthen your breathing,

Or you may choose to follow your natural breath.

As you continue to follow your breath,

Sensing the expansion and the contraction in your body,

Noticing where you're drawing your breath from,

Can you begin to deepen your breathing?

Imagining your breath is being drawn all the way up from the crown of your head as you inhale and as you exhale,

Visualizing your breath falling from the crown of your head all the way back down to your toes as you exhale.

One breath in and one breath out.

Taking the next few moments here,

Feeling the contact where your body meets your chair or the floor,

Inviting movement back into your body,

Bringing yourself back when you are ready.
