Then there is always something inside us,

Kind of hollowness is there,

Oh,

What I'm doing,

Why I'm doing meditation,

In what way I should succeed.

So these fourfold practices that I have been talking,

And I will continue for a couple of weeks,

Once you are clear about these fourfold practices,

Which I said,

Nine practices,

Primary,

Most of them based on the knowledge,

Three hidden practices,

And then comes the secondary practices,

That okay,

Close your eyes,

Sit comfortably,

Breathe in and out,

And do the mantra,

They are secondary practices.

So once we have a right knowledge,

I was just talking to Stephen,

And Stephen was saying that,

Stephen and Sam,

They both were contemplating and reflecting on these principles.

You listen,

Close your eyes,

And then you ask questions.

So when you start asking the questions,

Your intellect is ready.

And when the intellect is ready,

You can take over the mind.

The entire journey of the Eastern wisdom is to completely take over the mind.

Why?

So that now we know how to work on the mind rather than mind working on us.

So these four practices will guide us those small tips.

Here comes another friend of mine.

So these small tips of these fourfold practices,

Which I say nine primary practice,

Then three hidden practice,

And then the secondary practices will give you a deeper insight about yourself are to prevent and avoid lamenting,

You know,

Worries all the time,

You know,

Worries all the time,

Blaming and complaining all the time.

It gives you such a deeper insight.

The mind says,

Mind,

I don't,

You say to the mind,

I don't want these things.

No lamenting,

No worries,

No worries,

No likes and dislikes.

I will do what is right and good.

So once the mind is settled into that,

You become a great seeker.

And once you are a seeker,

50% of the journey is done.

So you see that that needs to be understood clearly.

So in,

You know,

When I talk about there are 3000 texts,

And then you have the commentaries on those texts,

Then you have sub commentaries on those texts.

But if you take those main texts,

It may be Gita,

It may be Patanjali,

You'll see,

Right,

Maybe any text,

The original text.

They talk indirectly and directly about these practices to make you,

You know,

Last time we had,

You know,

Sometime I talk and people start crying.

I don't mean by that,

But it is good.

They are releasing their inbuilt inhibitions.

So we have to,

You know,

That is why I entitled this series as Become a Seeker.

So we are going slowly,

But today's,

From today's session,

It's very important that you pick up every aspect of it,

So that you have a clarity.

Also,

We have been talking about the hidden practices.

First hidden practice is listening and learning until you become a thinker.

That is the job of the first hidden practice,

Which is known as Satsang.

Normally,

Satsang is known as company of the crazy masters who is going to guide you.

But now I become a thinker.

Yesterday,

My mind is filled with the reaction against a person living near me or with me or a friend,

But now I become a thinker.

That intellect says,

Oh,

Drop this reaction.

Come on,

I have to take care of myself.

I have to become a good person to myself.

So what happens?

That thinker changes your reaction to a response.

I meet,

You know,

I receive lot of emails,

You know.

So one girl was attending this session,

And I said,

Okay,

Even if you are not paying or paying,

I continued to send the invitation,

And she became very upset on me.

Why you are sending invitation?

I said,

I'm extremely sorry,

And I deleted her email.

You see,

I can understand those things,

But there is a,

So thinker leads to the right action.

And the third practice,

Then you emotionalize these principles.

Why you emotionalize?

Because you get motivation,

Self-motivation,

Self-inspiration,

Self-inspiration to change your entire perspective of life,

Three hidden practices.

And then comes the viveka,

The discernment,

The first of the nine primary practice.

You are doing five hours of daily practice,

But you don't have these basics in your intellect.

I can tell you nothing is happening.

No change will take place,

Unless you contemplate and reflect.

Until you contemplate and reflect on these.

What I'm speaking,

I told you that I don't speak anything from my own.

It is my own expression of these principles.

I'm passing on this wisdom to you.

Now start thinking.

You love peace?

Because you love peace,

It is your nature.

Why don't you recognize it?

Keep a smile on the face,

You know I'm not talking of jet science.

Do you love happiness?

Yes,

That is my nature.

Do you love stress?

It's not my nature.

Do you love worries?

It's not my nature.

You see that how the masters passes on this knowledge.

It is my own expression.

Do you love knowledge?

It's my nature.

No,

No,

No.

You know,

If someone says you,

I was talking about you.

Okay,

What you're talking about me?

I want knowledge.

I love knowledge.

It's my nature.

Do you see that?

Do you love to survive?

I love to survive.

So it means I love existence.

Just pick up.

I have to think of it again.

Do you love stress,

Anxiety,

Fear,

Insecurities?

No and never,

Because they are not my nature.

In short,

That is what we are looking for.

Because we love that is our nature.

So the masters out of the 64 attributes,

They have reduced it to three.

They say you are absolute existence,

Consciousness,

Bliss.

That is my essential nature.

That is real self,

But how to get there?

We know we love peace.

Why?

Because it is my nature,

Essential nature.

You cannot say stress is my essential nature.

Pain is my essential nature.

Sun is sun because of light.

Fire is fire because of heat.

Sugar is sugar because of sweetness.

Fill in the blanks now.

What you are because of?

Stress?

Anxiety?

Worries?

If fear,

Insecurities?

See the beauty of these masters,

The way they teach.

What exactly if sun is sun because of the light,

What I am because of?

How many times you forget this?

The moment you forget,

You're gone.

Then go to a psychiatrist,

Fail,

And then come back to me.

You see that?

See that?

I am because of my essential nature and that essential nature is absolute existence,

Consciousness,

Bliss.

Again,

You know,

Only the three attributes consist of 64.

See that?

So now next question comes,

Then it is extremely important that I should discover who am I?

I got the message from the master that I'm the real self.

Now it is important that I must discover my real self.

That is the journey of meditation,

Yoga,

Mantra,

Kundalini,

Everything.

The goal of kundalini is not to see the petal,

Lotus I saw in the Himalayas,

The white lotus.

It is better to see in the Himalayas rather than seeing in any.

Be very clear,

Straight.

Now see the third point.

Still I have understood you,

I have understood the teaching,

But still I'm living in worries,

Anxiety,

Fear,

And insecurities.

Why we all are seeking freedom.

We all are seeking freedom.

Is it true?

Now see that.

See the point you need to contemplate and reflect and the mind will become so clear.

The mind will follow the intellect.

Intellect contains the knowledge of this Eastern wisdom and you are on the path of it seeker.

Third point.

Or I would say next point,

I forgot how many points I talked about.

We all are seeking freedom.

You have to think again and again.

I'm going to ask a beautiful question.

Am I seeking peace by seeking an object outside?

Well,

I'm giving a private lesson to one on every Monday.

So he was telling,

He has a friend,

He's a friend,

Not a girlfriend.

So she called him and she said,

I'm going to commit suicide because if my boyfriend does not call me in two days.

So ultimately,

You know,

He talked to her and at least he stopped committing suicide.

Am I seeking happiness from a person outside or am I seeking to remove unhappiness in my life?

Now we have to go a little deeper.

Which one should I follow?

Am I seeking security in the money,

Which is an object outside or do I want to remove the insecurities from my life?

Are you understanding?

Have to go a little deeper and deeper.

Ask yourself.

For the sake of peace,

Happiness,

Love,

Wisdom,

Knowledge,

That is my nature,

That is within me.

So,

But I'm unhappy.

So should I remove unhappiness or should I seek happiness from a person,

From an object,

From a thing outside?

You all are seekers.

Simple answer is that I don't need any object for peace,

Happiness,

Love,

Wisdom.

It is within me.

But I have a sense of unhappiness.

I have a sense of insecurities.

I have a sense of fear.

So I have to remove it.

Let me focus there.

Are you getting it?

Do you have that thought in your mind?

What will happen?

You sit in meditation.

Your mind stops wandering because it wanders only because of the objects I'm seeking outside.

For the sake of security,

For the sake of fearlessness,

For the sake of love,

For the sake of happiness.

Are you getting it?

No.

Yes.

See that that is the way the Eastern wisdom.

Now we have started a little direct,

Little serious journey to become a seeker.

What is the next question?

Who am I?

You have to find out.

So it's a self-inquiry.

That is a self-inquiry.

So how many types of inquiries are there?

So that I become very clear how to make a self-inquiry.

How many types of inquiry?

How do,

How I should inquire?

How should I discover myself?

So our master says that there are only two types of inquiry.

Inquiry,

There are two types of inquiry.

I don't know anything about Stephen,

Say for example.

I'm sitting beside David,

Who is Stephen?

I don't know anything.

So I have no doubt.

I have no fear.

So I simply ask who is Stephen?

So David gives me the knowledge about Stephen.

That is known as a self-inquiry.

Simple inquiry,

Not self-inquiry.

That is known as simple inquiry.

Where is your house?

Can I come to?

Yes.

What is your address?

So I don't have doubt.

Do you see?

I don't have any confusion.

Clear?

That is a simple inquiry.

I do not know because it is the first time.

I want to know about an object,

About a person.

So,

So it is a simple inquiry.

We are talking of the first principle out of the nine primary practice.

What is that known as?

We wake our discernment.

So I will come back to that.

Now there is a second type of inquiry.

That is known as the self-inquiry.

Do I know myself?

I know myself.

According to the mind,

I am the body.

When there is a pain in the body,

Then I say that I have a pain.

When I'm emotionally upset,

Then I say,

I hate this guy.

So it means I become emotion.

So first time I become body,

I become emotion.

I say,

I have a jealousy.

So I dislike that person.

I become the mind.

So what is the second type of self-inquiry?

I know something.

Something is known to me and something is unknown to me.

I don't know my real self,

But still my mind claims that I am the body.

When there is a pain in the body,

Then I don't say my head has a pain,

But I say I have a headache as if it is head is me.

Do you see that there is a confusion?

There is a confusion.

I have a mixed knowledge of stress and silence,

Pain and pleasure.

One thing is clear,

I love peace.

Peace is my nature.

You know how peace is not my nature,

You know,

Because I have lot of stress,

You know.

So there's a mixed knowledge.

Do you see that?

I love happiness,

But I worry.

I cry,

I lament.

I have lot of worries.

So do you see that there is a mixed knowledge?

Mixed knowledge about me.

Right?

Did you understand this point?

So second type of the self-inquiry,

Demands viveka.

Viveka is known as power of discernment.

Literally viveka means to separate.

So I have to separate.

I am 100% sure.

I love peace.

Peace is my nature,

But why I have stress?

So in my intellect,

I have to separate this stress from the peace.

The moment I separate,

The stress is gone.

I'm already in peace.

That is the first primary practice.

It has to be done in the intellect.

Are you getting it?

I'll talk couple of sessions on this.

Viveka means to separate.

First inquiry does not need any separation.

Who is Stephen?

I don't know.

David told me.

So there is no confusion.

But here,

Who am I?

I have a lot of confusion.

And that I express in my thought,

In my speech,

And in my action.

Honey,

How are you?

Very good.

We smile.

And within few minutes,

Honey,

I'm upset with you.

There's a mixed knowledge.

Do you see the mixed information?

I have a mixture in me.

Do you see that?

I'm stressing this.

So when you see that,

Then I have to separate it.

Why I have to separate?

I love peace.

Peace is my nature.

I love happiness.

Happiness is my nature.

I love knowledge.

Knowledge is my nature.

But from where these crazy stuff has entered into my mind,

I need to separate.

So who separates?

First practice,

Viveka.

Viveka means discernment.

Literally,

It means to separate.

So if you have a headache,

Do you use the knife to separate?

No,

You have to use the knowledge.

You have to use the intellect to separate it.

The way you separate water in the mirage does not exist.

The way you separate,

The sky is not blue.

Still you see blueness.

You continue to see it.

Are you getting it?

You may see that today's previous sessions are just preparing the foundation,

But now we are directly hitting it.

We're directly hitting it.

Now tell me,

Is the earth moving?

Is sun moving?

Moving?

Science tells us.

But have you seen it?

Earth is moving.

Have you ever seen it?

No,

I didn't see it.

But the science proves it.

So if you believe the science proves it,

Eastern wisdom proves it that we have a real self.

Your nature is not the stress,

Anxiety,

Worries,

Fear.

They do not belong to you.

After all,

You believe in the words of the scientists that earth is moving.

Is it not true?

So believe these masters also Eastern wisdom,

You know,

3000 masters.

That's why I repeated 3000 masters,

6000 years old tradition.

They have been doing it again.

They have validated this knowledge.

So let us have a belief that this is the real self.

If you don't have a belief,

Find out you'd love peace.

Peace is your nature.

That is what the master is saying.

But I'm in stress,

So there is a mixture.

And the power to separate these two is known as viveka.

Viveka means discernment,

Literal meaning to separate,

To separate it.

So once you separate it,

Then what happens?

Then you become a great seeker.

It is not the teacher who declares that you are a seeker.

It is you.

You know inside that now I am a seeker.

I'm a seeker of peace,

Happiness,

Love and wisdom.

I'm not a seeker of peace through an object or a person.

Are you getting it?

If my honey loves me,

Then I will find love.

But your honey does not have a love.

How he or she can love you.

He or she is already in stress.

I should not talk too much about loveless life of our friend.

Now Bill Gates spoke.

I read him that he lived loveless life for 27 years.

He's a great guy.

He lived loveless life for 27 years.

You see the wrong perception,

So you have to separate it.

Separate it.

So let us start our practice.

We will continue this journey.

Again,

Eyes are closed and the body is steady and mind is looking inside.

Mind is looking inside.

We keep a side of our ego now.

Steady body,

Mind is facing within.

Mentally we are holding the hands.

So symbolically we are asking the mind to do Namaste mentally.

Bringing as if visualizing both your hands in Namaste Madra.

Touching the sternum,

The center of the rib cage.

And you are looking into the space in between both the palms.

You know there are five sense organs represents the five fingers of the right hand.

Five motor organs representing the left hand.

And then we directly reach to the mind.

That is a symbolic significance.

It is the mind that says I am,

I am,

I am,

I am.

Now there is only a space.

So that is the first indication that our real self is self-evident,

Self-luminous.

This is what is the essence and meaning of.

Then allow the intellect.

You have a lot of thoughts,

No problem.

You introduce another thought process.

That is why we recite.

It is very popular in our country in every yoga studio.

Asatoma,

Satyagamaya.

Now see the clarity.

Let me move my mind from the false notion after separating to the truth.

And that truth is the real self.

Tamaso ma jyotiragamaya.

Let me move my mind from ignorance,

From confusion.

Who am I?

Sometime I am stressed.

Sometime I am jealous.

And sometime I am in peace.

So I have to separate the two through knowledge.

I have to settle in this knowledge.

You are settled in this knowledge,

Earth is moving.

Why don't you settle in this knowledge?

Mṛtyurama amritangamayo.

Mṛtyu,

Death.

So there is always a fear of death.

Mind,

Let me move you from the fear of death to the beauty of freedom from the death.

I am the real self.

It is pure consciousness.

It neither takes birth nor it dies.

That is the beauty of.

So we should.

Now we move to the same step but little deeper.

Now with clarity.

I love peace.

Yes.

I love calmness.

Yes.

Why?

It is my nature.

I love being comfortable.

Yes.

It is my nature.

So your mind is not fighting with the thoughts that is entering into.

Let it happen.

Why?

That is not your exit.

You are on a highway to be comfortable looking at the neck joint,

Being there,

Feelings,

Sensation,

Comfort and steadiness.

And then the space.

Then go back to namaste.

Not me.

Are you separating?

See that.

Not me.

Look at the shoulder joint.

Joints feeling.

Sensation,

Being comfortable in steadiness.

Space mentally feel you are still in namaste mudra.

In the space.

So what is going to happen?

The intellect will settle in the snollies.

It will one day experience that I am not the body.

I know it 100%.

The entire body from the top of the head to the toes.

All the joints of the body.

Being there.

Feeling.

Sensation,

Comfort and steadiness.

Space.

Namaste.

So here the knowledge should work.

What is that knowledge?

Not me.

Keeping aside our ego that causes the lot.

That causes all the problems.

Not me.

And in that state you are being carefree.

Let any thought,

Feelings,

Sensation come.

I gave you one example that,

One example that this mind is a sales man,

Sales person always wants us to go to an object for peace,

Happiness,

Love,

Wisdom.

And which is not there.

And you see it in your intellect.

Then what happens?

Then let the thought come and go.

Let the feeling come and go.

Let the past memories return,

Stay,

Leave,

Go.

That is the meaning of being carefree.

I believe you are getting it.

I don't say in a session but I always say that when you are regular step by step you know the process.

A single session you miss,

You miss lot of things.

But intellect claims,

I know it.

The mind says I know you are in stress.

Look at it.

So once we are comfortable and carefree,

It is my,

I love both of them and they are my nature.

It has to settle in the mind by separating.

So we are applying Viveka.

And now comes the three secondary practices.

You know secondary practices,

We will continue to do it until we reach to that state.

So looking inside the rib cage and start breathing.

Take short and gentle breaths through both the nostrils into the rib cage.

Don't allow the mind to start thinking in a negative way.

Just continue,

Pay attention to the breathing,

Expansion,

Contraction of the rib cage and the steadiness in the body.

And continue.

Listen.

Continuous the mind will object to it I know why because they're confusing what will happen to me continue quick short gentle breath focus inside the rib cage expansion of the expansion and contraction of the rib cage body is steady continue quick short gentle breath the mind will object to it but even you continue and stop this we did it for five minutes only so separating do you still remember and if you remember that practice will give you the sense of calmness and quietness look at the tip of the nose and check if the flow is equal so we keep checking in the secondary practice so we'll go for another secondary practice start breathing little deep silent and slow not very deep we'll use the same mantra that we have done many weeks together and then you will see through the viveka what is the essence so we will do we will inhale for 10 seconds and then we retain the breath for 15 seconds and during the retention we will use the mantra Om Sarvesham Swasthirbhavtu let everyone be Swasthirbhavtu let everyone be auspicious there are many meanings of it so auspiciousness well-being is my nature that is why I chase it Sarvesham Santhirbhavtu peace is my nature that is why I love peace I feel I love sense of completeness wholeness so now we have changed the meaning and the essence with that meaning we will do it so let us start inhale deep silent slow continue to inhale inhale retain the breath inside looking into the rib cage Sarvesham Swasthirbhavtu Sarvesham Swasthirbhavtu Sarvesham Swasthirbhavtu release the breath allow the breath to be normal and see if the mind lives into the space and moves to let there be well-being for all why it is the nature of every human being it is the nature of the existence confusion gone thoughts may come let it come inhale deep silent in slow continue to inhale inhale retain the breath Sarvesham Swasthirbhavtu and check when you release the breath the breath remains very perfectly normal if it is not it will happen after few more practices and when it remains normal the mind is absorbed deeper with it you will see that it will be your experience let us do the third time inhale deeply into through the nostrils into the belly and the rib cage continue to inhale inhale retain the breath Sarvesham Swasthirbhavtu release the breath and just live into that state can you recall Sun is Sun because of light fire is fire because of heat water is water because of coolness what I am because of inhale deep silent and slow continue to inhale 10 seconds done retain the breath Sarvesham Swasthirbhavtu release the breath and absorb yourself into the infinite space there is not inside and outside there is only an infinite space the good space is known as shanti now you see the very subtle layer of Viveka discernment separating after knowing that I love peace is my nature inhale deep silent and slow continue to inhale and retain the breath Sarvesham Swasthirbhavtu release the breath live into that good space now third time inhale deep silent and slow continue to inhale but a tender breath Sarvesham Swasthirbhavtu good space Sarvesham Swasthirbhavtu release the breath so you are checking when you release the breath goes out so calmly that is the beauty we'll have third mantra Sarvesham when I feel the sense of completeness the wholeness there is no fear there is no insecurity a real self is whole inhale deep silent and slow continue to inhale deep silent and slow and retain the breath Sarvesham Purnam Bhavattu release the breath Purnam sense of completeness why the sense of incompleteness because mind is seeking some object some person something some event outside in order to be complete nothing will happen ever it has never happened in our life inhale deeply ten seconds continue to inhale deep silent and slow routine the breath Sarvesham Purnam Bhavattu release the breath you know the meaning completeness inhale deep silent and slow routine the breath Sarvesham Purnam Bhavattu release the breath yeah the last one Sarvesham Purnam Bhavattu so all well-being peace and completeness merges here inhale deep silent and slow continue to inhale and retain the rest Sarvesham Purnam Bhavattu release the breath inhale deep silent and slow so retain the breath Sarvesham Purnam Bhavattu release the breath last time inhale deep silent and slow retain the breath Sarvesham Purnam Bhavattu release the breath doing nothing well if you forget mine takes you somewhere you may say to yourself I love peace peace is my nature done so that you see a contrast where the mind is taking you to so you apply the viveka in meditation if you don't apply the viveka in meditation that's one of the very important step if you don't apply the viveka in meditation then nothing happens we don't apply we fall into hallucination I'm aware you may still have doubts it means Kundalini is also coming from eastern wisdom we should not do it why you are against it no I'm not I'm not against anyone you have to understand differently where you are so so where we are viveka we have understood it clearly I love peace peace is my nature so whatever else enters into the mind that causes the confusion and you leave it aside shanti shanti shanti shanti shanti shanti shanti shanti shanti bring your awareness on the right hand your awareness on the left hand lift your both the palms place it on your eyes open the eyes inside know your experiences bring the hands down how are you Stephen uh that was great uh very very very fast meditation um actually was shocked of how quick that went um the the visualization of the hands during uh namaste was my focus um I was just drawn to that um and every time you make reference to to visualize that I felt this this heat in my chest uh and then this fluttering in my in my actual physical heart um more than anything and then after that it was just all pure blankness and blankness very good thank you very good uh you see that we're normally the namaste mudra is done when you both the thumb should touch the sternal notch at a very primary level and we give a gentle pressure we close the eyes we feel the pressure there and then we move the mind inside the center of the chest in this space that is actually that is the real practice of namaste mudra uh but that is okay everything is okay so how are you having injury um very similar to Stephen's um when the gong went off it was like I literally couldn't believe it um and I I really had no like I told my where I had no awareness of anything um with the breathing in the beginning it was I struggled just a little bit and all of a sudden I noticed just before we came out of the deep breathing I was breathing really deep and strong and then that's the last thing I remember until the gong beautiful the mind has left that mind has let which causes the confusion duality beautiful how are you jerry sorry I'm good I I um the body felt cold at the extremities and then warm in the center which was interesting and the space was just good space good space and no resistance from the mind that is beautiful no resistance from the mind we will talk about this warmth in the cold simultaneously how are you my friend laura I I as soon as we closed our eyes and we brought our we brought the energy and I had a lot of pulsation in the center of my body beautiful and it was like almost like I was kind of thinking like this is a great divide right now happening and there's this duality um and as we went on with this quick breathing I really love that I like that a lot um and I started to get into my chest into the heart um and then we were doing the mantra I had a lot of really hard time holding my breath today so um that was just challenging and kind of noticed that and then I kind of tried trying to play with it for within my own body a little bit too um and uh that was just empty emptiness yes that is beautiful yeah beautiful how are you christina very still that was beautiful thank you for guiding us to that and it's just there it's a very very beautiful you and put these practices these practices and it looks like someone before and well that's good I can get the message because even if I did not hear you clearly because of the connection but I can get the masses of the load as if you are sitting there in that lotus pose and absorbed wonderful how are you terry let us open how are you barbara I feel very good and very very peaceful and the meditation seemed to me also to go very very quickly and I just wanted to stay there and I
