How Likes & Dislikes Causes Stress
by Girish Jha,
Eastern wisdom and masters say that we need to listen to the principles, reflects followed by specialized practices to become a seeker. The half the journey becomes complete when we become a seeker. It is important to know the principles as taught by great masters.
Transcript
Journey.
So you might have checked that I have and those who are not attending like Barbara on Monday's session.
So I'm already sending the audio files so you can listen to it.
So we have started.
I changed the title.
Did you see the enemies of the mind and self-inquiry is the method.
It is like before you go out in the sun,
You apply the sunscreen lotion.
So we apply the knowledge before we enter into the world of people,
Of situation,
Of time,
Of condition.
That is the approach.
Why we apply?
Because then these enemies which we discussed briefly last week,
Last session,
Do not create any problem,
Conflict and the confusion in our daily life.
What is Eastern wisdom?
First step,
That I should be curious to end suffering in my life.
So I listen to the teacher and I learn it.
What is the second step?
So after listening and learning,
Second step is discernment,
Dispassion and the six treasures I have already covered many times.
What is the third step?
Conventional methods.
You apply the conventional methods in your daily life and living.
You don't leave that.
You apply that conventional method.
What is the fourth step?
So once you follow the first three steps,
You have an intense desire to discover that permanent peace and happiness,
Love and truth and wisdom.
So you have an intense desire.
You are applying the conventional methods in your daily life.
You have a sense of emotional freedom that is always coming your way in every situation,
In every relationship.
So then what is the.
.
.
Someone wants to join.
Okay,
Let them join it again.
So the fifth step.
What is the fifth step?
The fifth step is Shravan Mananya Diddhihasan.
What it means?
Continuous listening and learning from a teacher,
Contemplation and reflection and ultimately going into a deeper state of the consciousness or we can say meditation.
So what is the sixth step?
Sixth step now,
That this mind settles into what is real self and the moment the mind settles into the real self,
You have an end of suffering.
Then you don't claim that,
You know,
Don't declare that I'm worthy of suffering.
Sometimes people say I'm very sensitive.
Really?
Lot of stuff.
Then the eighth step,
Seventh step end of suffering.
Eighth step is the realization.
What is the ninth step?
If you want to teach,
So you keep in touch with the books,
The way I am.
I follow the teachings of these great Masters already passed on to us by in different books.
Well,
If you don't want to teach,
Then live your life.
There is no suffering at all.
You have ten dollars or ten million dollars in both the cases you are having.
You are a Bill Gates or you are not a Bill Gates.
You don't say that I lived Love Life's life for 27 years.
That is what the Bill Gates.
Why didn't you leave before?
You waited for 27 years.
So now just a word and then we will go back to our enemies of the mind.
What exactly is when we say the realization?
Realization is not I will see the real self one day.
That one day will never come.
Realization is not I will become real self.
Realization is that now I am identifying.
I know I am the real self and what is the real self?
It is the pure consciousness of the nature of peace,
Love,
Truth,
Wisdom.
So in a summary,
These are the nine or the ten steps.
Three questions always comes to my mind after you have been attending this session for so long or you are intelligent in both the cases.
How do you find the journey?
What changes is taking place in your life in terms of your behavior,
Attitude,
Responses to yourself,
To the outer situation in relationship?
Now others are not listening in my relationship.
You have not taken even a single step in the journey.
You did not examine your mind that how that mind created a reaction,
A blame and a complaint in your head.
You did not take even a single step.
That is why I give a reference to about the Bill Gates,
I lived a loveless life for 27 years.
You created a storm in computing and you did not have a time even in these 27 years.
That is known as the emotional bondage.
Think of it.
So how many times you were upset,
Anxious,
Carefully busy since the last session?
How many times?
That's another way to check your life,
Your mind,
Your living.
So don't bring the signs,
Oh it's natural,
You know,
I have to react.
First learn Eastern wisdom.
After that we will compare how many times.
We have no right to die before we learn and study Eastern wisdom to discover who am I.
We have no right to die.
But we die every day.
We die every day.
Emotional bondage,
Reaction,
Ego,
Long list.
I know if you ask you to prepare a list,
You will prepare a list.
Now everything is okay but I was living,
I was expecting a good relationship but.
So there is always a but.
So that but represents the ignorance.
That is what the Eastern wisdom says.
We have to remove the ignorance.
Many people talk about the positive psychology.
It is much more than the positive psychology.
Psychology is still evolving.
I know Krishna,
I know Kedri,
She is a psychotherapist.
I also did my masters in modern psychology.
No,
No.
First get,
Receive the knowledge,
Understand it,
Apply it and then see what happens.
We were talking about two methods of purification of the mind.
The one method is the conventional method by thought,
Speech and action.
Living my personal,
Professional,
Social and family lives.
I will take up that in a very subtle way.
What is the root and the basis behind that?
So we have started with the self-inquiry.
We discussed about that if we remove the impurities of the mind we will live our life in peace and happiness.
So in a couple of sessions we only talked about these impurities of the mind.
We did not talk about what exactly are the impurities of the mind.
We started with the last session that likes and dislikes.
So don't make a decision in a hurry.
You know I like so many things,
You know.
You are talking about likes and dislikes or the impurities.
First understand it.
Go deeper,
Contemplate and reflect.
See the effect and after effect of these likes and dislikes.
That is the first pair.
Another pair,
Another trio is desire,
Anger and the greed.
Desire for seeking happiness outside.
Anger includes stress,
Suffering,
Hesitation and the greed.
Third pair is the ego and the selfishness pair.
So we will just talk about these three to five to seven aspects.
We will understand where to find them.
Do you still remember where to find them?
We find them only in a waking state.
We don't find them in a sleeping state at all.
When the mind is absorbed in deep sleep,
No likes and dislikes,
No ego,
No selfishness,
No anger,
No greed,
No hesitation.
So the master says,
I'm just bringing the teaching from this master.
The master says,
We don't find them.
We find them in the dream and the moment we wake up it is gone.
Can it happen in the same way in the waking state also?
In dream we have strong likes and dislikes,
We have a long fight,
We have a blame and complaint and the moment we wake up it dissolves,
It disappears.
Can it happen in the waking state all the time?
Can you imagine the state of the mind that you are living with?
Are you getting it?
The way we experience,
You know,
Dream with a lot of fears and anxiety and fighting and reaction.
The moment we wake up it is gone.
We realize it was a dream.
Can I recognize in a waking state that all these reaction,
Anxiety,
Duality and conflict is another dream in a waking state?
Why I said so?
That is not my nature.
Is hesitation,
Stress is your nature?
No.
But it doesn't happen.
Why?
Likes and dislikes.
Did you get an answer?
Think of this.
It's because of the likes and dislikes.
I like you,
I always love your company.
I dislike you,
I don't love your company and you are with me.
You have to contemplate and reflect.
Self-inquiry means listening,
Getting the principles and then you contemplate and reflect.
Why you contemplate and reflect?
The mind does not continue to live with those impulses,
Habit and behavior.
We are putting the knowledge into it.
Knowledge drops,
Dissolves,
Likes and dislikes.
Terry has dropped all the reactions against her maid.
She already shared a couple of times.
I can talk about it.
Terry said,
You know,
This maid makes me crazy.
It is in my head.
Preference of likes and dislikes.
I like the maid should perform the job this way.
But she or he does not have an ability to do that.
I'm asking from a situation,
From a people,
From a relationship much more than they have.
Go to the Coles and ask donuts.
It is not available.
Why you are pushing yourself?
Did you understand that?
I'm just talking the likes and dislikes.
We are discussing on the inferiorities of the mind.
We have a strong reaction due to the likes and dislikes and when the reaction reaches to a saturation point,
What is the result?
Anger.
Anger to whom?
Mind already assesses that if the person in front of me is weaker than me,
Then I get angry and is stronger than me,
Then I react myself.
I burn myself.
It's very difficult to fight with the boss.
After all I'm getting the money.
He is crazy but everything is okay.
Let me continue my job.
Do you see that?
All these thoughts are coming because of likes and dislikes.
And now you can be angry over your subordinate and juniors.
What the hell you are doing?
Who created these patterns?
My mind.
Why?
Impurity of the mind.
What we are learning?
Self-inquiry.
How?
Listening and learning the principles,
Follow the knowledge,
Contemplate and reflect and get out of it.
At the same time we apply the conventional methods in our lives.
Now conventional methods help me to respond to a situation.
How?
Respond to a situation,
Not react to a situation.
What solution society offers?
Take one pack of hard drink.
Why?
So that even in a waking state I am sleeping.
Sleeping is not the solution.
Did you understand this point?
Even in a waking state society pushes me to sleep by taking a drink.
By changing the direction of the mind.
But continue to keep that problem as it is.
Where the problem is?
Problem is in the mind.
What causes the problem?
The impurity of the mind.
You have to hammer your mind on these small easy principles again and again and again.
Until the mind declares that yes,
Now I understand.
That this world outside of people,
Of place,
Of time,
Of location,
Of situation is not at all responsible for my suffering.
That is the principle.
I have to hammer my mind.
Mind is not going to listen to you.
What is self-enquiry method?
Again let me make it simple.
Very simple.
You have a thought of likes and dislikes.
It is gone.
It causes attachment and detachment.
It is gone in the mind but the impression is present.
Now the guy comes whom you dislike.
That reaction comes into the mind.
But first there is a thought,
Then there is a reaction.
You have a feeling,
Isn't it?
So that thought coming from the past impression converting into a reaction being expressed outside,
You see.
Conventional method is applied.
But before that,
What is the self-enquiry?
The mind is obsessively thinking you are crazy.
I say let him or her be crazy.
Let me change my track.
Mind,
Why you are crazy?
Are you getting it?
I take over the mind.
I don't allow the mind to take over by consciously thinking.
That is one way to explain the self-enquiry.
But if you are applying the conventional methods,
It will help you.
If you are not applying the conventional methods you are in constant seesaw.
They still remember what we are discussing.
We are talking about the enemies of the mind.
Instead of the enemies of the mind,
I based a title,
Enemies of the Mind.
Who created these enemies?
My own mind.
That is why we have a lot of challenges.
If you created a problem for me,
There is no problem at all.
Do you see the enemies of the mind is created by the mind and those enemies takes over the mind.
It changes my behavior,
My attitude,
My thought,
My speech,
My action.
But as long as I am blaming the world outside of situation,
Of people,
Of location,
Forget about it.
You cannot get rid of it.
I have seen a lot of programs on anger management.
How can you manage the anger?
As long as your mind is constantly keeping at the root the likes and dislikes,
Think.
You should be ready to oppose these principles.
They have been tried and tested for more than 10,
000 years.
So when you oppose it,
You should give a valid reason.
This is the way the Master says.
Give the valid reason,
Prove it.
So what you will prove?
Anger is my nature.
Ultimate goal is that.
What will you prove?
Do you see the truth in it?
What is it you are going to prove?
Anger is my nature,
Stress is my nature,
Reaction is my nature.
So live with your nature.
Do you see how the knowledge,
How the Masters are teaching us?
They don't leave any chance for us to live with these enemies.
We don't manage it,
We transcend it.
Maharajan Saikalaji will always teach you how to manage it.
Manage it at minimum.
Manage your poison even if it is very little.
We transcend it.
I am not criticizing Maharajan Saikalaji.
We are just doing a critical evaluation.
These enemies which are impurities are like a war.
We cannot fight neither in dream nor in sleep.
We find an excuse.
I have strong likes and dislikes,
I have taken a hard drink and now I am still abusing others and then I fall into sleep.
Sleep is not a solution.
You have to face it.
Are you getting it?
I have to face it.
If I don't face it,
I have a sense of emotional bondage.
I told you last year that this guy who was a computer,
Who became an IT expert because he did not like nursing.
We are very clear about the journey of the Eastern Wisdom.
Even if we get a little money,
It's okay.
At least I am able to feed myself.
So one day I saw him.
One day I saw by the side he has a whiskey bottle.
So for a couple of sessions I was thinking that he is taking a sip of water because you know,
He might be feeling the dryness in the mouth.
So he heard me and I said,
The way I talked to you,
Do you agree?
Yes,
I agree 100%.
And then he took a sip of that hard drink.
What was his question?
I said,
Are you taking a hard drink?
Yes,
He said.
I don't remember the brand.
Then he told me that,
You know,
He asked a question that,
Is it not possible,
Can both the things not go together?
You take it outside,
It's okay.
You are learning consciously and I had a simple question,
Why you are taking it?
Especially during the session,
What you do after the session,
I don't care.
Do you recognize the very deeper level of ignorance?
Being rationalized by my intellect and that intellect is not following the path of the right knowledge.
That is why I said,
We have to,
We cannot wage a war against these enemies and the impurities of the mind and sleep and the dream.
No chance.
We should not perform any activities that brings my consciousness down.
If there is a fall in consciousness in my thought,
In my speech,
In my action,
It is because of the impurities of the mind.
Are you getting it?
Say yes.
You have not said yes.
So the entire self-inquiry means that there is a rise in consciousness.
What do you mean by rise in consciousness?
Let me give you one example and then we will start with our practice.
You are on the 50th floor in a New York City.
You can see the entire New York City.
You are on the first floor.
You have a limited perception.
That is what the fall in consciousness is and that is what the rise in consciousness is.
So the self-inquiry helps you to rise in consciousness and when you have a rise in consciousness,
You are able to see,
Oh,
This is false,
Drop it.
This is true,
Take it.
What do I have to do with the likes and dislikes?
You drop it.
I believe you all got it.
Rise in consciousness,
Fall in consciousness.
So self-inquiry.
I should not say but you know,
I have only one,
That example is coming to my mind at this time.
Analyze the statement,
I live a loveless life for 27 years.
Is it a statement coming from fall in consciousness or rise in consciousness?
Simple.
I hate you.
Is it fall in consciousness?
It is rise in consciousness.
God has made you to hate others.
You are such a wonderful creature.
That is how we have to hammer the mind by another thought.
So we will understand a little more deeper in the next session.
Close your eyes.
Again we will go to the practice.
Eyes are closed.
Body position,
Adjust the body position of the body.
You are doing it consciously,
With a rise in consciousness.
You are not doing it habitually,
My friends.
I believe,
I believe,
I believe all of you 100%.
Do you believe me?
I mean to say you believe the knowledge that I am passing on.
So that is your goal.
What is that goal?
Real Self is of the nature of peace and happiness.
And that is what I am searching.
Position of the body.
Do you see the struggle of the mind inside keeping the body comfortable and steadiness?
If there is a struggle,
Just give one name,
Recognize in it.
Oh,
This is because of the impurities of the mind.
And then start working consciously.
And that becomes our second step.
Being comfortable.
Where is that second step?
What to do there?
As far as doing is concerned,
You will see it's not doing.
You look at the neck joint mentally.
So when you look you are aware.
When you are aware it means rise in consciousness.
My friends,
You pick up any simple principle.
So yes,
Neck joint,
Awareness and feeling.
Now the mind moves into subtler level.
You experience sensation,
Comfort and steadiness.
Sensation,
Comfort and steadiness.
And this experience is subtler than looking purely at the neck joint.
So when I see anything that is subtler,
That is rise in consciousness.
You are not attached to it.
Where is after that?
After that there is a space,
Emptiness or blankness.
Why there is a space emptiness?
Because every rise in consciousness drops the duality,
The multiplicity of the world.
I believe you are getting it.
Shoulder joint,
Being there.
Yes,
Being there.
Sensation,
Comfort and steadiness.
Good.
And after that there is a sense of emptiness.
The mind returns again to the same thoughts.
It repeats.
You can check it is because of the impurities of the mind,
My friends.
The entire body.
Entire body from the top of the head to the toes.
Where is our experience?
The mind naturally wants to move into the subtler layer of our consciousness.
So this mind moves to the sensation,
Comfort and steadiness.
And then it says there is an emptiness,
Blankness.
If it declares,
You are there.
But at the same time now the third step is embedded in it.
What is the third step?
The mind is still running.
Running means what?
You have unwanted,
Unwelcome thoughts.
So what is the solution I told you?
That like the highway,
You have three lanes in the highway.
So the mental highway,
You have three lanes.
Lane number one,
Unwanted,
Unwelcome thoughts.
Lane number two is the intellect,
Conscious awareness.
Conscious awareness looks at unwanted,
Unwelcome thoughts.
It doesn't create any problem.
You have a thought against anyone.
You are not reacting.
You have a thought in favor of one.
You are not attached to it.
Why?
You have two different lanes.
What it means?
You have separated yourself from what is coming into as unwanted,
Unwelcome thoughts.
That is extremely important.
One master has written the entire book on this principle.
Known as Dhrig Drishya Viveka.
So now but still the mind is obsessed with those unwanted,
Unwelcome thoughts.
So we change the direction.
How?
By the mantra Sarvesham Swasthar Bhavatu.
Say in your mind.
It's better to say in your mind.
If you don't want to say,
You can just repeat the meaning.
Sarvesham Swasthar Bhavatu.
Simple meaning.
Let everyone be happy.
The translation of that Sanskrit verse,
Let everyone be happy.
But we have to go deeper into the knowledge in it.
How we get the knowledge?
By self-inquiry.
What is the part of the self-inquiry?
Contemplation and reflection.
So why you say let everyone be happy?
Is it possible?
It is possible because happiness is our essential nature.
How can you say everyone is seeking happiness?
Someone seeks happiness by anger,
By reaction.
And I am seeking happiness by discovering that it is my essential nature.
What it means?
I am a seeker.
So the moment you have those movements of the thought based on the knowledge of the mantra,
The mind full of impurities gets a shock.
Sarvesham Swasthar Bhavatu.
Let everyone be.
Let there be peace for everyone.
So Eastern psychology begins with a premise that peace is our essential nature.
Until we discover peace is our essential nature,
We do not stop the inquiry and the practice.
And all those nine steps which I discussed at the beginning.
Sarvesham Poornam Bhavatu.
What it means?
Let there be a completeness in all,
In everyone.
So this hits the first of the trio,
The desire.
What are you saying?
Desire in the mind means I am lacking something within me and I want to fulfill that lacking.
That is why I am seeking something outside.
So mind goes outside,
It becomes a desire.
And then the mind seeks happiness and peace from the people,
Situation,
World outside.
Not possible.
Sarvesham Mangalam Bhavatu.
Let there be a speciousness for everyone.
That is what the existence is offering to us at every moment in our life we don't recognize.
How you will recognize?
Purify the mind.
You will discover that our speciousness is present at every fraction of a second.
And we will apply the conventional method.
The breathing is one of such method to purify the mind.
Looking inside where you look.
You look inside the forehead,
Gently drop Om Shanti and start breathing.
Quick and short breath from the ribcage.
You inhale the chest expands,
You exhale the chest squeezes.
If the mind is extremely full of impurities,
It will react to it within few seconds.
The mind will say,
No I cannot do it,
It is too much.
But if you are doing it consciously,
Three minutes is not a big deal.
You are enjoying doing it.
Keep on.
Continue my friends.
Om Shanti continues,
Body remains steady except there is a movement of the ribcage here in the first type of the breathing.
No other part moves except the entire ribcage from the collarbone to the last rib,
Front and the back.
You feel an expansion and contraction.
Keep on.
And stop it.
Do nothing.
Remain as you are.
Recognize and accept the changes.
What do you mean by changes?
You feel certain sensation,
Maybe tingling,
Numbness,
Hot,
Cold,
Vision,
Colors.
We just watch them.
We will take those visions and colors and other experiences.
What is that understanding?
Later.
Now Om Shanti continues inside the forehead in this space and start breathing from the belly.
It's a longer breath.
You inhale,
Belly becomes a balloon and you exhale,
You squeeze it.
The mind will object to it.
And you take that objection positively.
Oh,
I recognize now.
This is the way the mind is working on me.
And you keep on doing.
But don't force yourself.
Don't tire.
Because if you force and tire yourself,
The mind has already taken over you.
It has already created an impression not to do next time.
We are understanding.
How we are understanding?
I told you,
Rise in consciousness.
I,
You and everyone can understand that.
Forcing,
You are reacting.
Consciously you are doing,
You are responding to the practice.
I know you can understand that.
And stop this.
Do nothing.
Remain.
Accept Om Shanti continues inside the forehead.
Just gradually we will understand these mantras.
Ultimately we have to leave everything.
Om Shanti continues and now the third breathing.
Where is that?
That includes the belly and the chest breathing.
Om Shanti continues.
Start with that.
Means you consciously experience filling the air into the belly and the ribcage.
And exhaling from the belly and the ribcage.
I can talk at length about the respiration or the breathing.
And the center of the breath in the brain.
And then peripheral and chemoreceptors.
And then how it helps me in neurogenesis and the neuroplasticity.
There are a couple of research papers published but I am not talking.
We all are seekers.
We have to settle in the principles of Eastern wisdom.
Then we can complement.
Continue.
And stop this.
Do nothing.
Remain as you are.
So once you stop Om Shanti continues,
You recognize,
You accept the changes that is taking place.
Why?
We are on the 50th floor.
Let any experience come.
I am just watching and witnessing.
I am not getting carried away.
But why?
The mind will taste first time what is that emotional freedom.
I will talk about that later.
So looking deep inside now in the heart,
Cave of your heart,
A triangle pointing apart.
Equilateral triangle.
And the mind moves on each side of the triangle dropping Om Shanti.
Do you see there are three points.
One is the side of the triangle.
Second is the movement of the mind.
And third is dropping Om Shanti.
When all three sinks,
Moving and dropping Om Shanti clockwise and anticlockwise,
You can check the mind is now ready to go deeper.
So what we do?
We look inside the center of the triangle.
We sing Om.
Push the mind deep inside the cave of your heart.
And mind seemingly stops deep inside the cave of your heart.
You drop Shanti.
You are already self-absorbed.
And you stay there.
But if some thought disturbs,
You do it again on the triangle.
Go deeper.
Triangle,
Side,
Om Shanti,
Movement of the mind.
So the movement of the mind is conscious.
You are living into that awareness.
When you discover it is just a play and a fun.
Driving the Om Shanti deep inside.
That mind is pure.
Now leave this.
And the last step is almost a non-step.
What we do there?
The mind's eye looks at one segment of the finger.
Mind's skin touches.
Mind's tongue says Om Shanti.
So every finger has three pointed lines.
And the fourth is the tip of the finger.
It's better to start from the lower end of the index finger.
You look.
Mentally you feel.
Om Shanti.
Then the mind moves on to the second line.
So it's the mind's eye,
Mind's skin,
Mind's ear,
Mind's tongue.
Om Shanti.
Third segment.
Om Shanti.
So what we are exploring is how much the mind is sensitive.
One.
How deeper the mind has gone.
I believe I made it clear.
Going deeper in the mind is rising consciousness.
Rising consciousness has two elements.
Expansion and a natural focus.
Om Shanti.
You are continuing with the Om Shanti.
What's going to happen?
Where the mind is,
There the prana is.
According to this principle,
The prana,
The life force or the energy,
Envelops these points of the fingers.
And we actually feel as if we are physically touching.
That's the beginning of a story.
We rise in consciousness.
Keep on.
Continue.
What a beautiful state.
No one is moving.
Om Shanti.
Bring your mind on the right hand.
Your mind on the left hand.
Lift your both the palms.
Place it on your eyes.
Open the eyes and slide the palms.
Know your experiences.
And bring the hands down.
We share our experiences openly,
Bluntly.
How are you Steven?
Good.
Thank you.
My takeaway from today's lesson is that we are not in search of the real self.
That we are already the real self.
And through awareness and the principles that you are teaching us,
Is what we use to protect the real self from the enemies or impurities of the mind.
As far as my meditation goes,
It was deep and effortless.
I could have probably stayed in it for who knows how much longer.
The big shock to me was when you started chanting at the end.
It was like an explosion of golden light above my head.
And that's what brought me out of my meditation.
It's so beautiful.
We'll talk about,
As I said,
We'll talk about how these experiences we have during the meditation.
So I,
Steven and Sam are editing one book on Hatha Yoga.
So yesterday you must have some idea that how those experiences takes place.
You know that part of the summary.
Page number 292.
Do I remember?
The best part in understanding is that we are already real self.
Means we are consciousness.
We are not the body.
We are not the mind.
We are not the intellect.
Including we are not the anger.
We are not the attachment.
We are not the likes and dislikes.
So what should we do?
So the mind's Eastern wisdom says it's a part of the ignorance and the impurity.
And that is what we are learning how to purify it.
And I appreciate the total self absorption in meditation.
Thank you,
Steven.
And how are you,
David and Jerry?
Thank you.
So I love the constant addition of new tools that you introduce.
And it was interesting because the enemy tool today made it very binary for me relative to thoughts in my mind.
Because if it's an impure mind,
You can let them in a little bit.
And they can have a cup of tea.
But if they are the enemy,
It's binary.
It's like you are not crossing that threshold.
So I love that.
And then secondly,
I just want to acknowledge this month,
It's been three years that we've been doing this.
So I just want to thank you and acknowledge that.
It's made a significant difference.
So thank you.
Wonderful.
Thank you.
In fact,
You are supporting me rather than I'm supporting you.
But he made a wonderful point,
Binary.
There is a whole topic on binary.
Binary means two.
And two means on one side impurity and other side is the purity.
Purity is already there.
I have to remove the impurity.
So when I have that awareness,
What happens?
According to the teaching of the Master,
And we will understand that later.
That once you have,
Your mind is in a binary format,
Your ego melts away.
And when the ego dissolves,
The impurity is already gone.
I'm just,
You know,
Picking up the higher principles that we are going to talk about it.
How are you,
Jerry?
Sir,
I'm good.
Thank you.
The meditation for me went right,
I guess,
The takeaway or even just during it,
My mind,
The mind went right to the mind that is permeated with the consciousness is very aware that everything outside is constantly changing.
So that mind actually looks at everything outside as an opportunity.
No matter what it is,
Every transition,
Everything,
Nothing set in stone because that mind knows that it's all changing,
That everybody is changing,
Everybody is changing,
This world changing,
Everything.
So everything is an opportunity for that conscious level.
Yes,
The who recognizes that everything is changing,
That entity is never changing.
That entity is consciousness.
You rightly said that is how the consciousness is separate and different from the mind.
The modern science doesn't agree.
Let them not agree first,
Find out and then tell this is my experience.
One more point that I just want to,
Those who are,
No,
Everyone is reflecting on it.
What is changing is perceived by the mind outside because the mind itself is changing.
The water is not changing,
The manifestation is what we perceive as a change,
As a waves.
And once we discern this,
We are already there,
We recognize the real self.
Thank you,
Wonderful.
How are you,
Brandy?
Good morning,
Thank you,
I'm fine.
My meditation was really focused and absorbed and peaceful and as far as the lesson,
I honed in on what you said about you can't deal with it in your dream state or sleep state.
My dreams have been really active lately and some stuffs come up and I'm like,
I got it,
Right?
Okay,
So this is like this mind stuff that presents the enemies,
The impurities need to be dealt with in the waking state.
Beautiful,
You see that when we give a label,
They are the enemies,
Impurities becomes a little loose.
Okay,
Impurities,
I will purify,
I will take a bath.
But when we say enemies,
We have to get rid of it.
So the mind must settle into this understanding.
And the second point coincides with what David says,
You know,
We always think,
You know,
Let me have a cup of tea.
No,
I have to deal with it here and now.
How to deal with it?
By thinking consciously.
That is a part of the self-inquiry and the life changes.
Otherwise we say I'm angry over you,
So I keep that impression all the time.
And that continues days after days,
Weeks after weeks.
Who has changed?
I have changed my behavior.
The other guy,
You know,
With whom I am angry,
He is sleeping.
He is not at all worried.
He doesn't know whether you are angry over him or not.
That is the impurity.
How are you,
Barbara?
I'm very good,
Thank you.
I was just thinking that we really should not fear adversity because adversity should be taken as an opportunity to love.
Because if life was perfect,
I mean,
You would be status quo,
You wouldn't change.
What a beautiful.
.
.
You have expressed in one way and what Jerry was saying in another way.
It is the same thing.
That whatever I perceive as a change is only a manifestation.
Like the waves manifest,
Like the mirage water I see them.
It is also a manifestation.
So if you compare the two,
Mirage water does not exist.
So that manifestation which is a different and separate from me keeps my mind always pure and the purity of the mind reflects the real self.
I have a realization.
I am already a real self.
You rightly.
.
.
It's a wonderful thought.
You know,
Inspector,
You don't believe me.
I use all of your expressions in my private and other sessions.
I'm learning from you.
Thank you.
How are you,
Vaibhav?
Thank you,
Sir.
Sir,
I am good.
My practice was absorbed and in that silence I could see that the complaint,
The reason for that complaint,
It's all actually happening in the mind and I was just behind it to observe it and it can drop very easily.
There was no challenge in that.
So all the keenness towards that thought or that complaint,
It was just again another thought for that and it was very quiet and peaceful.
Beautiful.
Do you see why we share our experiences?
Not because that I will get many likes.
It has nothing to do with it.
I just put the video and it is done.
We are learning from one another.
Everything is moving eye witness by being separate behind it.
So then only I can take care of the outer situation,
The people,
The relationship much better.
But if I'm already engaged and involved,
I am a part of the change.
I cannot do that.
It's a beautiful way.
How are you,
Terry?
Hi.
Krishna,
Terry is your neighbor.
She is in Brooklyn.
Yes.
During the practice,
I didn't have,
I didn't think I had any thoughts.
Good.
I didn't know whether I had any or not because I would let go of them.
Yeah.
And likewise,
Question.
Also,
I have it but then it's immediately gone.
So and then eventually they get answered anyway.
Beautiful.
But then I just have to say that some of these dogs was barking and it struck me.
It just made me laugh.
And I thought,
Why am I laughing?
I like it.
You know,
I don't know.
Something about the dog and it just doesn't know what's going on.
So it just doesn't care.
It's barking and that was really nice.
I remember what my master used to say.
When the elephants are moving in a forest and the dogs are barking,
Nothing happens to the elephant.
Elephant doesn't care as if it's not listening.
Elephant is listening but not listening.
It's not worried about it.
So when that mind becomes an elephant,
It is a purity of the mind.
Yes,
You got it.
How are you,
Krishna?
Thank you.
So I appreciated today about the piece about anger and the struggle as much practice as I think I've had.
And I can notice during the meditation,
The breath work and my struggle,
My mind's struggle with it.
And the curiosity and being able to observe that and notice that.
Ah!
So that was great.
It is always good.
You know what she is pointing that if I summarize,
It is always good to follow each step consciously.
The moment it is a habitual,
It goes into the dreamland or the sleep.
Unconscious.
And that from the unconscious all of the reaction comes.
Did you get it?
Even if you tend to be angry,
If I ask you just become angry over me,
You are conscious,
You cannot.
And that proves our principle that habitual impulsive nature causes those impurities to manifest in our life.
I think you all remember.
Can you plan to be angry tomorrow at 10 a.
M.
?
Come on,
Leave it.
It is not possible.
So you raised a wonderful point.
How are you Ashok sir?
Thank you,
Sir.
Thank you,
Sir.
Sir,
Very nice practice and peaceful,
Calm.
And more clarity comes regarding the likes and dislikes.
Like mirage water,
That is impurities we can say.
I assume that is an impurity of the mind because only then we are able to see that.
So for that purity it has to come.
That is for the real self as well.
Beautiful.
So one thought is the mirage water is impurity because of likes and dislikes inside my mind.
So when the likes and dislikes disappear,
The mirage water is still seen.
Last session I said that I still like a cup of tea.
I have to express what I like.
But now that does not have an element of impurity.
I believe it is not as deep as you cannot understand.
That's beautiful.
And Sangeeta,
Anastasia you have attended last but you can obviously,
That's very good that you have started attending this session even late because,
Maybe because of the internet.
How are you,
Sangeeta?
Sir,
Very peaceful time.
I am absorbed,
Sir.
It's very good.
It's very peaceful.
She is already peaceful but sometimes she becomes otherwise.
So how are you,
Anastasia?
Namaste,
Thank you.
I was struggling with connection.
Yes,
I was trying and trying and I got only at the end.
I am very happy to be here even for a while.
I will re-watch and do my practice right after.
Wonderful.
That is the approach.
That is the right approach.
But where our friend has gone,
Sam has left.
Sam has left.
No worries.
We will share our experiences.
That is all for today.
Sam has left,
You know.
Namaste,
Thank you.
Namaste,
Sir.
Namaste,
Everyone.
Thank you.
Namaste.
