Can I ask a question?
Oh,
You already started.
Yeah.
Yeah,
You can ask a question.
So is it the duality?
When we were talking about like we don't want to meditate and then you do you meditate or the like and the dislike is that duality?
And just trying to Yes The battle with it.
Simple understanding is that knowledge desire and action So that knowledge comes from the intellect desire comes from the mind and Action comes from the body including the sense and the motor organs So the very knowledge that is it's a very famous principle jnanaati ichhati karoti means first to know it Then to desire based on what you know it But mind says no Mind even opposes the intellect So when the mind opposes the intellect then we have rajo and tamo guna in the mind Then the mind says I will do what I like not what is right and good So that explains the state of the mind we need not to go for applying the psychological batteries To know our state of the mind how much anxiety,
You know,
We have lot of batteries the depression inventories No,
We don't know we can easily know by our statement So what we are doing welcome Sam.
So what we are doing last week we said there are four Stages of meditation.
So now how I explain four stages of meditation with reference to variety of experiences So they are for these four stages of meditation are known as the lower Meditation practices In the Patanjali Yoga Sutra the 18th Sutra in the first chapter It says viram praktiya ya bhah spoorva sanskar sesho anya ha Means what by persistent practice by regular practice by becoming a seeker one attends objectless state which is known as the higher meditation or Ausamprajnaat Samadhi or Ausamprajnaat meditation Let us take a very simple example When the mind in the intellect knows Lara or do you know Lara?
Yes,
I know I know her So then the mind does not invite any other thought there is a clear knowledge But When the teacher says you have a real self behind the mind Then what happens to the mind do you know the real self as it is no why you don't know it So we can give many examples why you don't know it because there is still a doubt Do I have a doubt that you are Lara?
No,
Do I have a doubt that there is a real self?
Mind says no,
I don't have a doubt then you know it you are already in the state of meditation You need not to practice it.
Say goodbye.
Do you see that?
Do you see that?
I'm using a very simple Analogy because the mind is still in doubt of which I am not aware So what should I do?
I continue to understand and I continue to do the practice Everything is clearly explained by these great and crazy masters I'm only explaining what these masters are talking about.
So now see that now see another point here Should I do the practice according to what my mind likes or Should I follow a discipline as taught by the Masters?
Surely because my mind is still not very clear It still has many doubt it is not still there at that highest state of meditation Hence,
I should follow a discipline as taught by the Masters So there comes Mind says I don't feel like doing it.
Why because I feel stress that is why you must do it That is why I must do the practice I Was just talking to Lara many people say no,
Let us skip this week not feeling good If you are not feeling good,
You must do it In order to feel good.
So last week now see the other point of view so I we discussed First thing very important That we discussed that without the sense without the mind the sense organs cannot perceive anything It is the sense organ that perceived the world outside and it causes the duality Another answer Lara that duality in the mind Coming from the impression received from the sense organ.
You see a person the mind doesn't like it What happens?
We divide our mind that knowledge is a creates a division Now when the sense organs are absorbed into the mind there is no duality The first stage what happens then It instantly changes your behavior your attitude.
So it means Meditation must change my behavior and attitude Nobody's Leslie and Alex And you have joined in the middle.
So as you will continue you will understand Commitment is required not to me to yourself Why should you have commitment to so second level what happens The mind aligns with the Experiences That you receive in meditation for example Calmness,
No,
I experience calmness.
Peace very good meditation No,
So what is happening by regular practice the mind aligns with those Experiences of calmness peace silence and the mind awakens to one reality.
What is that reality?
The mind has been searching peace and calmness and happiness outside now I am getting it without any object person thing people outside That is Second level of the knowledge.
So what happens to the mind now see What happens to the mind by regular practice?
One day you wake up and the mind says your mind is crazy and An intellect says come on just practice meditation to remove that craziness Because I have experienced peace and calmness without any Object without the help of any object or a person or a thing Are you getting it Do you understand why meditation we say meditation?
Meditation leads to the permanent happiness,
Which is independent of Anything outside including our honey Including our wealth including our power Nothing outside is required.
So what What it gives to the mind a tremendous faith now Because of our experience it gives the faith to the mind and the faith must follow Together with the right knowledge.
So who gives the right knowledge the Masters Who has discovered this journey of yoga the science of yoga the third stage what happens?
Third stage the time comes in the life of a seeker that intellect in the mind is Allying the absolute knowledge To the intellect in the mind and to the body 24 by 7 and what is that absolute knowledge permanent peace happiness love wisdom The transformation takes place That Is what Patanjali is so that is the foundation So now go to the sutra of the Patanjali Patanjali says The lower level of dispassion leads to the fourth stages of meditation that we did last week and the higher level of dispassion leads to the highest the higher meditation state Now,
What is dispassion?
What is dispassion Dispassion in the mind means the mind is neither attached nor detached It does not like or dislike anything or any object in the world based on impulse based on habit based on instinct based on my preferences Now the mind is living almost in a sense of freedom So When the mind is living in the freedom you are a great seeker and you can easily absorb yourself into the meditation You can bypass the first four stages you can directly enter into the higher stage of meditation Dispassion Dispassion now dispassion comes by Discernment in the intellect what is discernment in Sanskrit it is known as Viveka And what is that discernment?
That you separate what is right and what is wrong?
You separate what is right and good from what is what you like and what is pleasant to you What is what you like and what is pleasant to you will cause desire?
And The desire is seeking happiness Outside desire simply means seeking something other than me for the sake of happiness Pasta gives me happiness pasta is outside For example,
Pasta is outside Pasta gives me happiness pasta is outside so What is discernment here that we ask the intellect to please examine if the happiness contains in the pasta Happiness is not there If the happiness contains in the honey say for example if the happiness contains in your honey I'm saying an example in your honey What will happen then to your honey?
So then everyone will like to possess your honey because happiness contains There Nobody is going to leave So so discernment is required in the intellect Now I am taking you to a little deeper That will make this sutra clear the cause of the intellect is three gunas Cause of the intellect Three gunas Inultness That is Tamaguna activity Always running.
Have you seen some people are always running excited?
Normally we say hyperactive people always busy They don't have time for themselves But they feel they are Lara is one of them,
Okay And the third one is the knowledge the intellect That is guided by the knowledge Balances the activity and also the lethargyness instantly So how I observed Terry and why I appreciated her simple Simple reason she said I was not feeling good Tamaguna The intellect said I must do the practice so she said I opened the previous the beginning of Are the lessons I heard it and then I did the practice myself I did the practice myself You see you have to understand simply in your head Say for example,
I have an anxiety Let me take a cup of coffee and then you start thinking about the anxiety and mind Mind is constantly repeating those thoughts then what is going to happen?
That activity in the mind which is Rajaguna will take you to Tamaguna It will make you inert it will make you obsessed with that feeling that thought So why the discernment I must take my mind to the Satuguna.
Satuguna means knowledge Knowledge So can you remind yourself that my real self is of the nature of peace and happiness It is the mind You are crazy.
I am not crazy how to go beyond the mind.
Let me start the practice Let me stop the thinking these thoughts Which creates a chain of thought pertaining to anxiety pertaining to anger pertaining to fatigue pertaining to Anything that you don't want in your life Are you getting it?
So the intellect the cause of the intellect is the three Gunas means three qualities means three Three types of thoughts mean three types of behavior means three types of action Lot of things,
You know,
We can just explain in this So you see that you have a pain and if the intellect is living in the inactivity Letrogynous with that opposes the knowledge then what happens the mind says who will do it?
You know who has to meditate let me Let me keep lying down Let me remain depressed then who is responsible you are Why don't you challenge the mind how dare you enter into my life By thoughts inside Because intellect must follow the right knowledge So when it follows the right knowledge,
It becomes what it becomes Satu Guna When it becomes Satu Guna then you are ready what happens in Satu Guna now the intellect is Intellect is inspired by the right knowledge.
What is that right knowledge?
The meditation Means discovery of our real nature and what is our real nature?
The real nature is full of permanent peace happiness love and wisdom So what happens if you if your mind is clear with the right knowledge it will inspire you to do the practice but if the intellect lays at the highest level of Of awareness and knowledge I started the same thing in a different way.
Do I know Lara?
Do I know Stephen?
Yes,
I know it.
No more thought is required.
I know it Do I know my real self?
I told you hundreds of times that real self is of the nature of permanent peace happiness love and wisdom Do you know?
Lara the way,
You know the real self.
No,
Why no because of the Factors I already explained Because the way the mind is acting The way the mind inside is behaving Invoking the thoughts we have to get rid of those thoughts How?
Not by force not by control but by understanding but by clarity How can I force my intellect Lara is still there in front of me you must know Lara no Can I do I need any action physical action to know Lara?
No,
I only need a knowledge Where in the intellect?
Same way clarity About my real nature will help me to get rid of all these crazy stuff of anxiety Duality conflict anger hesitation it really drops But when it drops then it must follow meditation practice if you don't practice then the result will not be there Clear so let us start our practice of meditation close your eyes and So eyes are closed body is steady So it means when the body is steady take your mind on the body first You know,
We have to continue what was explained in the previous sutra There the following we follow the discipline First we start with the body you look at the body Body seems to be steady.
The mind is looking within and is the mind cheerful?
What should be cheerful you are going to discover the permanent happiness Permanent love so that you don't need anyone You don't force anyone to love you Then once you discover that love you simply express that love to everyone That is the secret of building relationship in life So Looking at the body body is steady.
Let us follow the same Body is steady.
Let us follow the simple way again Be comfortable So don't think that when you become comfortable that's a lower step and we have already done it every time you do it If you are a seeker you find a deeper state And if you are a beginner You still Get the right so being being comfortable how to follow that The mind looks at the neck joint Mind is looking at the neck joint Mind moves to the neck joint not the neck joint moves to the mind when the neck joint moves to the mind Then what will happen?
You will move your body fizz it Then what will happen the meditation will fail?
So with that understanding the mind goes to the neck joint So when it goes to the neck joint,
Then what happens you feel the sensation?
Being comfortable and steadiness So what after What is inside the sensation being comfortable and steadiness?
Oh,
I see the simple blankness in the space be with it done shoulder joints Sensation being comfortable and steadiness and what is beyond that the mind goes deeper mind After feeling sensation being comfortable and steadiness does not start running outside How simple The entire body from the top of the head to the toes Sensation being comfortable and steadiness We will continue to follow the nyasa Uh today with the four point awareness,
So what we do Look at the breath in the state of steadiness in the body Then make the breath little deep silent and slow First point So we treat the breath as a car Yes your vehicle Mind is the driver Where we have to drive in the space inside the body With what we have to drive with the mantra say mantles mantra.
Oh How we do it?
As you inhale Move the mind Inside the right leg right arm from the shoulder to the fingertips Tips where you are moving inside in the space and as you move it mind resides mentally When the breath is when you exhale Move the mind from the fingertips In the space inside the right arm to the shoulder mentally singing and listening Um So it may be the five point awareness everything is already there in the practice What I do I?
Help you explore the mind week after the week Now move the mind inside the left arm you see how many points of awareness first point of awareness as you inhale the mind second moving with the mind moving with the breath where inside the left arm in the space or emptiness saying mentally the fourth point om and Singing and singing and listening so listening becomes the fifth point of awareness That is how We take the mind deeper and deeper Simple way everything is so simple.
Why when we have a clarity?
When we have an understanding So and Now move the mind inside the right leg From the right side of the waist to the toes You are following the five point awareness awareness what is first is Breath deep silent to lose the second is mind moving with the breath Third is the space inside or darkness inside fourth is singing om fifth is listening om So that is what we normally do while driving on the highway You can add the sixth one Any car you can change the lane depending on The thought enters to the mind,
But you continue the journey now inside the left leg You See you can go on go on go on and what happens in the end The mind says I got it Beautiful,
I appreciate you all So And now inside the spine From the crown of the head to the tailbone as you inhale The the mind drops moves down from the crown of the head to the tailbone singing om listening to it And as you exhale the mind moves from the tailbone to the crown of the head Did I explain the mind will play tantrum That is what is traffic on the highway And still you find the way you can change the lane means what?
You see the thought Wants to take you to the body No worries You say let me complete this breath and then I will do it the next moment that thought disappears A lot of subtle things that we are Understanding step by step according to the master patanjali And now leave this Do nothing Mind is living within in that state with the singing listening meaning And the knowledge we take the mind deeper by the mantra So first is singing and listening You need not to worry about the meaning so are you sing mentally with me?
First mantra is mentally with me first mantra is The mind will object to you no,
No,
I don't I cannot say you are listening don't you sing S S S Second stage is the singing,
Listening and meaning.
What is the meaning?
Well-being.
May there be well-being in all,
In everyone.
What we are doing?
We are asking the mind to drop the duality,
Even if there are differences in age,
Gender,
Caste,
Color,
Etc.
,
Etc.
But the well-being is one.
Sarvesham swester bhavatu So you are singing,
Listening with the meaning inside your head.
Sarvesham swester bhavatu So what about the applied knowledge?
Third stage is singing,
Listening,
Meaning with applied knowledge.
Now applied knowledge is wisdom.
Do I know you all?
Yes.
Do I have to do anything to know you all?
No.
So it happens in the deep inside.
Means not only you know,
You experience the state of well-being is behind all the challenges.
This is another way to put it.
You let us sing,
Listen,
Meaning and you live into that state.
Sarvesham swester bhavatu Sarvesham swester bhavatu Second mantra,
Simply singing and listening.
Don't ask the mind,
Don't push the mind,
Know what is the meaning,
Know,
Just sing.
Sarvesham swester bhavatu And second stage meaning.
What is the singing,
Listening and the meaning?
Meaning it means simply peace.
May there be peace in all.
So what is the pointer?
The peace is already within us.
We need to discover.
Sarvesham swester bhavatu When there is a singing,
Listening and the meaning go together inside your head,
Means inside the mind.
The mind will not go run after the other thoughts that causes you the duality,
The reason,
Anxiety.
That is the reason why we do it.
Sarvesham swester bhavatu And now singing,
Listening,
Meaning and applied null.
It is like a,
If you know,
I think you know it,
Russian doll.
So you remove the outermost,
Then you have the second layer,
Third layer,
Fourth layer.
So we are going into the third layer.
Singing,
Listening,
Meaning and the null is.
Sarvesham swester bhavatu Sarvesham swester bhavatu Third mantra is more beautiful than the other two.
Third singing and the listening,
We follow the same stages.
You know,
Instead of stage,
If I say the first doll,
Remove it.
That is by singing and listening.
Sarvesham purnam bhavatu And the second doll singing,
Listening and meaning.
Sarvesham purnam bhavatu Sarvesham purnam means completeness,
Sense of completeness.
Now just ask the mind to think you are complete in yourself,
Means whole.
So when I'm complete in myself,
Should I seek anything outside?
Should I get worried and anxious?
Because I'm not getting anything from the world outside,
From the person,
From the thing.
Etc.
See the meaning.
That is the second doll.
Sarvesham purnam bhavatu And third doll is the wisdom.
What is that wisdom?
A sense of completeness.
What is it?
It is simple awareness in the mind.
When the intellect is clear,
Guided by the sattva guna.
Sarvesham purnam bhavatu I am purnam,
Complete.
Why to worry?
No worry,
Hurry and curry.
Sarvesham purnam bhavatu Fourth mantra.
Singing and listening,
The first doll.
Sarvesham bhavatu I'm simply saying it.
In the first days of the mantra,
I need not to ask the mind confused.
Oh,
What is the meaning?
We must understand.
No.
Sarvesham bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Now comes the meaning.
The second meaning is mangalam auspiciousness.
So what happens when the well-being,
Peace and completeness merges in the mind?
It leads to auspiciousness.
I will explain to you when we are moved to the third stage of this mantra.
Let us do it.
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Third doll means applied wisdom.
Let us understand a little step further.
When I want happiness.
Here and now.
All the time.
In which location I want happiness?
In all locations.
Do I need happiness by running,
Being crazy,
Making an effort?
No.
I don't want happiness by making an effort.
I want happiness to be discovered within.
See that.
And where it is,
It is within us.
That is the meaning of auspiciousness.
Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu Sarvesham mangalam bhavatu And then comes mental singing.
Om Shanti,
Shanti,
Shanti.
Let us go a little deeper today.
So,
Om is a symbol of real self.
I don't know yet,
But I'm calling while keeping the mind within.
Simple.
First Shanti,
Shanti means peace.
So first shanti is to that darkness which represents the ignorance.
I intellectually understand the real self permanent peace and happiness is my nature,
But I don't have that point of awareness.
Instead of point of awareness,
I find only the darkness.
So first drop the shanti there.
Second shanti to the mind.
Continue the effort.
Third shanti to the body and the world.
Now let us sing.
Om Mentally.
Shanti.
You're hitting the ignorance.
Why?
To install the knowledge.
Why?
To discover that permanent happiness.
Second shanti,
Shanti to the mind.
We all are aware of that.
Third to the body and the world.
Continue.
Om Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Continue.
Om Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
Did you notice that the journey of Om Shanti Shanti begins from inside,
From the center outside.
What do you find at the center of the Russian doll?
Nothingness.
Emptiness.
See that?
Symbolically I'm explaining.
Continue.
So you start the journey from that mindfulness state and the first doll from innermost.
Second.
Om Shanti.
Shanti.
Shanti.
When the mind moves deeper inside,
Deeper inside means it moves horizontally.
Then we can start the vertical movement of the mind and the best movement of the mind vertically is starting from the top to the down.
Not very much down.
So what you do?
Walk down your mind from the crown of the head to the heart within.
Singing.
Only Om.
So Om singing from the crown of the heart to the heart and then go deep inside the heart by singing mentally.
Shanti.
Walking down,
Not changing the rate and the rhythm of the breath.
Just a stroll walking carefully.
I appreciate you all.
It's beautiful.
Walking the mind from the crown of the head.
Our last step to the heart.
Why to the heart?
We have already moved the mind inside the heart.
So it instantly recognizes that emptiness.
And then we sing Shanti.
You know,
That is why sometimes we say,
Oh,
I know you are talking about Lara,
You're talking about Stephen or David.
See?
We are translating everything in more simple way.
Continue.
And.
Do nothing.
Now live into the state of doing nothing.
So when you do nothing,
The experiences reveals from deeper within.
Simply,
You are aware of those experiences.
Why you are aware of those experiences?
To progress into meditation.
And to share it with our friends who are attending openly.
To deepen our understanding.
Shanti,
Shanti,
Shanti.
Shanti,
Shanti,
Shanti.
Shanti,
Shanti,
Shanti.
Bring your mind to the right hand.
Your mind on the left hand.
Lift your both the palms,
Place it on your eyes,
Open the eyes inside.
The palms.
Know your experiences,
Bring the hands down.
Now we will share our experiences.
So that we learn from our experiences.
How are you,
Sam?
I'm good.
It was another really deep experience for me.
Back to that,
Again,
I think it's been flowing similar for me where it gets really deep and then there's a point about halfway in where I kind of get that.
I think David described it a couple weeks ago.
Is that blank TV screen?
Yeah,
Yeah.
And then I just stay there and it's pretty relaxing and effortless and yeah,
I think that's it.
I mean,
It's great.
That,
Yeah,
That's a deeper experience.
Beautiful.
Continue practicing regularly.
But I tell you,
It will help you in your profession also.
It will make you more and more creative.
So how are you,
Stephen?
We have to ask David.
I'm real good.
I would describe the meditation as complete contentment.
Beautiful.
It was,
It was effortless.
It was,
I always have these tendencies of seeing things and then trying to figure out what it means while it's happening.
And in this case,
I didn't care about anything that was happening.
And I wasn't anticipating anything that was coming up.
So I was truly living in the moment of the meditation.
Beautiful.
And the only thing that I could recall from an actual incident was when you go into that final Om Shanti chant.
And I feel this,
This burst of energy from that starts inside my heart.
And then it just goes to my head and I saw multiple shades of red.
Multiple shades of red.
Beautiful.
You see that last week,
I think we discussed the four stages of meditation.
So the mind moved into the second and the third and the fourth.
Constantly.
So the contentment is all about what we say,
It was Ananda,
The sense of contentment.
Ananda means the permanent happiness.
It expresses in the experience of contentment.
That's a beautiful and the result is because you are doing it regularly.
So how are you Lara?
I am good.
I feel like I was just kind of flowing with you with the meditation today.
It wasn't like a lot of wandering thoughts or anything.
And then at the end when we were doing the Om and then the Shanti and the heart.
Yeah.
My heart was just like vibrating.
Vibrating.
Beautiful.
Yeah.
Beautiful.
It was again the fourth,
Third and the fourth was continuing.
Very good.
How are you Terry?
Most wonderful Terry.
Yes.
You see that?
No issue.
Continue.
How are you David and Jerry?
In the meantime you unmute it.
Yes,
Terry.
That's good.
That's good.
Calm and you didn't move also.
The body was not at all moving.
So that's a beautiful,
Beautiful.
You don't know whether the body is moving or not in deep sleep.
Let our meditation be like this.
We don't care whether the body is moving or not.
Your mind is totally centered within.
That brings the deepest state of the calmness.
How are you David and Jerry?
And then we'll go.
Yes.
Yeah,
It was a very,
Yet another good meditation for me.
It was,
It was thoughts but there was zero attachment to the thoughts.
So there was just this like wonderful freedom to just be peaceful and not have anything interrupted at all.
Beautiful.
Yeah.
You see that,
You know,
Now you can relate to the four stages of meditation with four different types of experiences.
So that's how I'm relating because I know that you understand,
You all understand these beautiful.
How are you Jerry?
I'm good too.
I think similar to Sam,
It was very quiet and focused and then in the middle it just got dark.
Just got dark.
And it stayed dark until the end.
Yes.
So totally dark obviously indicates a sense of blankness and emptiness.
So allow the mind.
Mind is not ready to accept that.
But when we settle into that,
Then another layer of experiences dawns.
Beautiful.
How are you Christina?
Today she's smiling.
Good.
Yeah,
I've been practicing so I could feel it pain like just putting forward to myself so I'm happy I could relate to everyone by practicing and today was one of my favorite practices I think I've had ever.
Beautiful.
I totally relate to Stephen with there's no anticipation,
Which usually that's my mind with the anxiety that I have had for first.
You don't have any problem.
I know.
I know.
So that's where I'm getting over.
I'm retraining my brain.
I'm having no anticipation and it was very warm and I forgot I was even like if I was to open like it was like my mind reminded me that I was in front of everyone like I was a part of this group that was so warm that it was like I felt like it was like I had a blanket on.
Beautiful.
It was great.
I loved it.
Beautiful.
That's how I feel very upset when younger people have all these challenges.
I feel why they have it.
They have tremendous energy,
They have intelligence,
They have only thing is no clarity and that clarity comes by the practice of meditation.
Beautiful.
How are you,
Alex?
I'm really nice.
I have a really nice meditation.
Really?
This is your first time?
No.
I've been practicing for a while.
With me?
With me it is your first time?
Oh yes.
Yes.
So don't get carried away by the experiences discussed by other people.
Don't believe them.
You have to tell your own experiences.
Of course.
I felt really warm.
I was really present.
I even had background noise going on with my family and I even in my daily practice I'll get carried away with that but I felt really content and present today.
Beautiful.
And I normally,
You know,
I don't meditate with groups or in front of people and sometimes I,
You know,
My mind get carried away with that but I had a really nice time today.
Good.
Tell your mind that you are practicing with me only.
You are the only one.
How are you,
Leslie?
Don't believe them.
Don't believe.
I know,
Right?
Because obviously you know I'm going into the mode of comparison.
Yeah.
So I was able to,
I mean I stayed present.
My monkey mind was on the jungle gym so we're playing with that and I was able to just keep returning,
Keep returning,
Keep returning.
Good.
Good point.
Yeah.
Keep returning.
I want to move.
I always feel like my spine wants to.
Yeah,
Yeah,
Yeah,
Yeah.
So you don't move the body but you move the mind.
When the mind wants to go out you move the mind inside but with awareness,
Not by force,
Not by control.
So when you do it without control it takes you to a meditative state.
Beautiful.
That is all.
If you have any question you can ask the question.
No question.
That is all.
Thank you.
I have one question.
Yeah.
I'm sorry.
So I've been meditating for years and I've done vipassana retreats and I've done different,
And you were saying,
Okay we follow the master.
How do I know what,
I don't know if this is the right question but there's lots of masters,
There's lots of techniques,
There's lots of different ways to do this.
How do I know which one to follow even for myself?
Good question and simple answer.
You follow the Eastern wisdom.
I am not the master.
I am teaching what masters have already passed on this wisdom.
The moment I say this is my meditation then I create a follower,
I create a curve,
Dogma and belief.
So which master to follow?
We say Eastern wisdom.
What is that Eastern wisdom?
We say it is 6000 years old.
What is Eastern wisdom?
It is an instrument of knowledge.
Are you paying attention?
It is an instrument of knowledge,
Leslie.
Are you paying attention?
Instrument of knowledge is different than the teacher.
Are you getting it?
Instrument of knowledge is different than the teacher.
The Einstein theory of relativity is different from Einstein.
Are you getting it?
I am and the instrument of knowledge has a lot of different techniques.
So that technique for that you have to go to that teacher who is well versed with these techniques of the Eastern wisdom to see which technique is most suitable to you.
Not,
Not I prefer,
Oh there is a big,
What is that?
What did you say?
Intense retreat.
Oh there is a retreat,
Why don't you join?
So you joined it.
Did you find out are you eligible to join that retreat or not?
So ask the teacher,
How do I know I am capable,
I am qualified?
So not there are,
How do you choose iPhone versus Android phone?
How do you choose?
Based on your liking.
But here we choose based on our temperament,
Our level,
What problems we are.
Are we eligible?
Are we a seeker?
So the Eastern wisdom says I have to become a seeker first and the seeker has certain qualifications.
And once you are a seeker you understand what I should be doing.
But still you need a live teacher who teaches you from the Eastern wisdom.
Who doesn't say that you know I know,
I will take care of you.
That is what the tradition is.
Did I answer?
You did and I don't think,
Because every,
So many disciplines in my experience say this is the way.
And nobody's ever actually vocalized,
You get to choose which one works best for you.
And they can all be the way under the umbrella of Eastern wisdom.
So thank you.
Not a single,
You see that if I see 100 watches in a mall,
I don't try each one every week.
But we can try,
Emma John gives you 90 days,
You know something 90 days free.
That will not help you.
So why you are looking,
There are so many watches,
So many practices.
What Eastern wisdom says,
Why don't you look yourself?
Where you stand.
That is much more important than any practice.
Last thing I must say that,
Now you have understood that.
You are a seeker.
And you find the craziest teacher you will succeed.
That is the knowledge of the Eastern wisdom.
You are not a seeker and the Buddha appears before you,
Nothing will happen to you.
Did you understand that?
Thank you.
That is all.
Thank you.
Namaste.
Happy Papa.
Isn't it Pongal?
Pongal,
Yes,
Happy Pongal.
Yes,
Yes.
Hello.
