Welcome to this sacred tea meditation.
I invite you to take a comfortable seat with your tea.
As you clasp your hands around your cup and hold it up to your heart space,
I invite you to take three deep breaths,
Inhaling through the nose and exhale creating some sound sighing it out.
Two more times inhale filling up the lungs,
Pausing at the top of the breath.
Exhale to release.
One more breath inhale.
Now as you continue to breathe now in and out through the nostrils,
Feel the warmth of the cup and handle in your hands.
Notice and feel the structure and the shape of the cup.
Close your eyes and take a deep breath in and out feeling the warmth travel through your hands.
Slowly guide the cup up to your nose and breathe in deeply.
As you sit with the aroma,
What does it smell like to you?
With each and every inhale the scent connects you deeper to this present moment here,
Just you and your tea.
You allow your thoughts to melt down into your heart space and feel a sense of peace within.
When you are ready to take your first sip,
Slowly and mindfully draw the cup up to your lips and start to feel the heat of your tea enter your mouth.
Allow the tea to sit in your mouth for a small moment and notice the first note of flavor As you swallow your first sip,
Follow the journey of the tea down your throat and into your body,
Nourishing and heating up your internal organs and insides.
Connect to this feeling,
These bodily sensations happening inside of you as you continue the slow process of being intentional with each and every sip.
Feel grounded in the moment here,
Just seeing how simple you can make this moment here right now with your tea,
Enjoying this process of taking each sip mindfully and intentionally.
With each sip the essence of the leaves are becoming a part of you,
Receiving their healing herbal properties.
On your next exhale gaze down into your cup and notice the color of your tea,
Perhaps you also notice any loose leaves floating on the surface.
Notice the pace at which you are drinking your tea,
Do you feel the urge to quicken your pace?
And if so,
Stay curious what could be causing those feelings,
Perhaps you are feeling quite content in the pace that you are going,
And without judgment can you allow yourself to notice the feelings that are arising in your body during this process,
Notice the temperature change as time passes.
Take your time here until eventually there is no tea left to drink.
Once you are finished I invite you to now rest your cup on the table or on your lap,
And as your tea meditation comes to a close,
Take a moment here to express gratitude towards yourself,
And gratitude for all the people who put in work to grow,
Harvest and bring you the herbs infused in your tea.
And lastly gratitude for this present moment of solitude,
Inviting you to take a nice deep breath in,
Feeling the ribcage expand,
Feeling the chest and heart space open,
And open your mouth to let out a deep sigh,
Allowing your body to sink into the ground,
The chair,
The floor,
And taking your time to open your eyes and come back into the space,
Into the environment around.
Thank you for meditating with me,
I hope you have a beautiful evening or day ahead.
