This guided meditation is a gentle invitation to step out of the spiral of overthinking and return to yourself. When the mind feels crowded with looping thoughts, worries, decisions, or endless what-ifs, it’s easy to feel tense and stuck. This calming practice helps you soften mental noise and reconnect with clarity—not by forcing thoughts away, but by learning to notice them without getting carried away. Through grounding visualisations, gentle breathwork, and supportive affirmations, you’ll begin to experience thoughts as passing moments rather than problems to solve. As the mind settles, space opens for calm, perspective, and ease. This meditation offers a quiet pause—a place to slow down, breathe, and loosen the grip of overthinking. Use it whenever your thoughts feel overwhelming, and you need to reset, release mental clutter, and realign with calm.

Welcome.

This meditation is for those moments when your mind feels too full,

When thoughts spin round and round,

Pulling you in every direction.

It's okay,

You're not broken.

When overthinking is something we all experience and you're not alone in it,

This is your space to pause,

To soften and to return to what really matters.

Find a comfortable position,

Either seated or lying down,

And gently allow your eyes.

Take a long,

Deep breath in and exhale slowly through your mouth.

Again,

Breathe in deeply and let it go.

Feel your shoulders drop a little,

Your hands soften,

Your jaw relax.

Now,

Allow your breath to find its own rhythm,

Smooth and steady.

Let each breath guide you into this moment,

Here and now.

As you breathe,

You might notice your thoughts are still busy.

That's okay,

You're not trying to stop your thoughts,

Just shift your relationship with them.

Imagine each thought as a cloud drifting across the sky.

You don't need to chase them or hold on to them,

Just notice them and let them pass.

Say quietly to yourself,

I am not my thoughts,

I am the one who notices them.

Let that truth settle in,

You are not your worries,

You are not your overthinking,

You are the quiet awareness beneath it all.

Now,

Bring your attention to your mind,

Your mental space.

Imagine it as a spinning wheel,

Fast and full of energy.

With each exhale,

Visualize it slowing down,

Not forced,

Just gently easing.

Inhale,

Exhale and the wheel slows a little more.

Inhale,

Exhale and the thoughts begin to space out.

There is room now,

Space between the thoughts,

And in that space,

A quiet clarity begins to appear.

You don't need to think everything through right now,

Some things work themselves out when you stop gripping them so tightly.

Let these next affirmations flow gently into your awareness,

You can repeat them silently or just listen and receive.

I am not my thoughts,

I am not my worries,

I can let go of what I don't need to carry.

I return to stillness whenever I choose.

I focus on what truly matters.

One moment at a time is enough.

Feel the truth of each phrase,

Let them settle in like soft ripples over a lake.

Now,

Gently return your awareness to your body.

Feel the ground beneath you,

Your anchor.

Notice your breath,

Steady and calm.

If you'd like,

Place a hand on your heart and say,

Right now,

I am here and that is enough.

Let that be your guide today.

When your mind starts to spiral again,

Pause,

Breathe and remember this.

This space,

Come back to your breath,

Come back to you.

Gently begin to move your fingers and toes,

Stretch if it feels good and when you're ready,

Open your eyes.

Take a moment to notice how you feel,

Lighter,

Quieter,

More present.

You can return to this practice anytime you need it.
