Welcome to a meditation to explore resistance.
There are many forms of resistance.
It could be resistance to a person,
A thought.
It could be resistance to doing something.
It could be resistance in the form of procrastination or indistraction.
Maybe it's some annoyance,
Tiredness.
Maybe there's a thought that you can't let go.
Take a minute to think and feel into what type of resistance occurs for you that you would like to work on.
There is no right or wrong.
It's really just about choosing something,
Going with it for this short span of time.
Find a quiet space.
Take a few deep breaths.
Take a few moments to settle.
Now whatever that sensation you chose is,
We're going to do something different and let it expand and grow and become bigger,
More amplified in thought or feeling,
However it comes up for you.
And see what it has to say through curiosity as if it were not really a part of you,
But something that comes through every now and again.
See where in your body it might be shifting something or in your emotions or thoughts.
Step away and observe within a range that feels slightly uncomfortable but not too uncomfortable.
Exploring how it feels,
The textures,
The colors,
Any type of description you could give it.
Maybe it's a younger part of you.
Maybe it's somebody's voice in your head.
Whatever it is,
What does it have to say to you?
What does it need from you?
See what comes.
Maybe just allow your body to move in a way that would feel like you are expressing what this feeling,
Sensation,
Emotion,
Thought needs to express.
With action,
Slowing it down.
Bringing yourself out of it just a bit so that you're observing it and not becoming it.
We are giving it a stage to allow it to express so that it will not be underground,
Coming out in mischievous ways.
The resistance in some way is your friend.
It's trying to keep you safe.
It's trying to keep you comfortable.
Maybe it's okay to be a little bit uncomfortable.
Maybe it's okay to feel what's there,
To be with it,
To listen to it,
To understand what's going on underneath the surface.
If there's anything else that you'd like to explore,
Take some time now to do that.
As we close,
I'll invite you to take a few deep breaths to come back.
Maybe wiggle your fingers and toes.
Maybe stretch a little.
Maybe wiggle,
Take a look around the space you're in to ground back into right here,
Right now.
If you want to go back in,
Go back in.
And if not,
Then I would say that your resistance thanks you for giving it some attention today.
