An evening meditation for early sobriety.
Find somewhere comfortable to sit or lie down and allow yourself to relax and reflect for a few moments before you go to sleep on what a wonderful thing you have done today.
Close your eyes and turn your focus inwards.
Take a deep breath in and as you exhale allow your body to calm.
With each inhale imagine bringing in warm,
Loving energy and surrender to the feelings of support and relaxation.
With every out breath allow your body to relax even more,
Going deeper into a blissful state of calm.
As you continue to breathe deeply surrender more fully to the words coming to you now.
I see you,
You did it.
I am so proud of you.
I am so proud of you.
I am so proud of you.
You are brave and you are strong.
I know that today couldn't have been easy.
Today was the day you decided to do something different and put yourself first.
Today you showed courage and you chose love instead of fear.
And I know that it took a lot for you to get here but here you are.
Let's focus on that for a moment.
Reflect on your day.
These first few days of early sobriety are not always easy so I want you to take some time and connect to what it feels like.
What emotions are you experiencing at the moment?
Let's focus on your energy.
Notice any thoughts flowing through your mind and let them flow through your mind.
What emotions are you experiencing at the moment?
How is your energy?
Notice any thoughts flowing through your mind and let them go.
What sensations do you notice in your body?
Breathe deeply into those feelings of joy and happiness.
Hold on to them for a moment and allow yourself to feel gratitude,
Pride and love for what you did today.
Today was the first day of the rest of your life.
You did it today and you can do it tomorrow.
You made the decision.
You are here already living the life you've always wanted.
How does that feel?
You are here already living the life you've always wanted.
How does that feel?
You have already done the hardest part.
Committing to being where you are is the first step,
The hardest step and you did it.
You should feel proud of yourself.
You should be proud of yourself.
I am proud of you.
As you lie here just allow the feelings to wash over you a little longer.
Even if today was hard or difficult or painful you did it.
You are amazing.
Take a moment and think about tomorrow.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
You can do this.
Take a moment and think about tomorrow.
You can do this.
I'd like you to think of a mantra that will help to inspire you as you go to sleep.
Something that will be there for you in the morning to guide and support you.
As you think about your mantra what will your life look and feel like when we get to this point again tomorrow?
Repeat your mantra three times to yourself either out loud or in your head and let it go.
Breathe deeply now knowing you did your best.
You were there for yourself.
You got through the day.
You got through the day.
You are strong.
You are wonderful.
You are amazing.
I see you and I am proud of you.
