Finding your why meditation.

Start with the why.

Before we begin,

You might want to get a blanket to wrap around you for extra warmth and comfort.

Light a candle to begin the ritual and set the tone and your intention for this practice.

Have a notebook or journal and pen by your side so you can write down anything that comes up when you finish this meditation.

Why is the most important question you can ask yourself.

Your why is your lighthouse,

Your North Star,

Shining the way to peace and freedom.

When you know why you want to live your life free from alcohol and by know what I really mean is feel.

Feel it in your bones,

Deep inside to your very core.

When you really feel it,

When your whole body,

Your heart and soul tingle with this clarity,

This deep inner knowing,

Then nothing can shake you from your path.

Your why is the fire in your belly.

It's the warm hug of contentment.

It's your inner compass,

Your reason for being.

It's like an invisible thread,

Keeping you centered,

Secure and lovingly grounded.

Your why is part of you.

It's who you are and when you connect deeply with your why,

Nothing can sway you or tempt you away from your choice to live your life this way.

Alcohol free and feeling good.

No party or argument.

No stressful situation.

No holiday or grief.

Upset.

No fancy work lunch.

No dinner with friends.

No commiseration or celebration.

Nothing can pull you off course.

You can have the greatest of days or the worst of days but still,

Your why,

Your deepest resolve will anchor you to your core and keep you safe and strong as you walk your path.

Grounded in confidence and trust,

Trust in yourself.

Your why is powerful and together,

We're going to connect to that power.

The power you already have within you.

This meditation is going to help you to cut through the noise,

To settle in,

To focus and find space within your heart and soul.

Here you will experience peace and stillness so you can connect to your heart's desires which is where your why lives.

You will uncover your unshakable truth and your reason for being here on this path.

If you've never allowed yourself to align this way,

Then please take it easy and slowly.

There's no rush so take your time.

I want you to feel safe and comfortable.

I know it's not always easy to sit in stillness and listen so if you need to stop at any time,

Then do so.

Just take a moment for gratitude and then carry on with your day.

If you're ready though,

If you're ready to open up,

To go within and find your magic,

Then allow me to guide you towards your inner wisdom,

Your truth,

The shining light that will guide and support you on this wonderful journey to living a life of alcohol freedom,

To living the life you deserve without alcohol holding you back.

So now you're here and ready,

Let's get settled in.

Sit or lie down with your back straight and well supported,

Palms facing upwards or relaxing on your lap.

I like to sit cross-legged on the floor to really connect,

To feel grounded and supported by the earth.

So you might want to do that.

So whatever position is comfortable for you,

Take a moment,

Get settled in and close your eyes now and turn your focus inwards.

Take a deep breath in,

Hold it and then slowly release.

With each inhale,

Imagine bringing in warm,

Loving energy and surrender to the feelings of support and relaxation.

And as you exhale,

Allow your body to soften and calm.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Drop your shoulders,

Relax your jaw,

Softening the muscles around your eyes and sinking into the earth as you relax even more.

Let go completely as you go deeper and deeper into a blissful state of peace and stillness.

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

As you continue to breathe slowly and deeply,

Surrender more fully to the words coming to you now.

You are here for a reason.

You want things to change and now is your time.

This is your moment,

Your opportunity to finally make the changes you've been dreaming of.

If you'd like to see how to change,

We must begin with inner change and knowing why you want to change is the key.

It's the key to aligning your heart and your head so you don't want to drink.

You don't need to drink and we do that by connecting to ourselves.

Connecting to that beautiful future vision you have of yourself who is strong,

Happy,

Healthy,

Alcohol-free and feeling good.

We're going to tune into that version of you now because that is your why,

Your future,

Your dreams and desires.

That is your why and your why is strong and powerful,

A loving force to guide and support you.

As you focus on breathing slowly and deeply,

Tune into yourself and begin to listen.

Start to feel and see and imagine and experience your own alcohol-free future.

It can be a moment,

An image,

A snapshot of a day.

It may simply be a feeling,

A memory or a deep sense of knowing.

This is your why.

As you focus on your why,

I want you to feel into the answers to these questions.

What do you want?

What does living alcohol-free mean to you?

How do you want to feel?

What does your life look,

Sound,

Taste,

Smell and feel like without alcohol getting in the way?

As you ponder the question,

Not with your head but with your heart,

Just listen and notice whatever comes up for you.

I'll give you some space to feel into that.

Keep breathing slowly and deeply as you let your mind wander.

Allow your thoughts to guide you as you experience the emotions that come up.

Allow these emotions to connect you to your dreams and desires.

What does it mean to you to live alcohol-free?

Why are you here?

Keep asking and keep listening.

Allow the words to flow and the images to come.

Feel into your reasons.

Feel into your why and stay open to your experiences.

Feel into the joy,

The happiness and the excitement.

Feel into the peace and the calm and the contentment of your choice.

This is who you are.

This is what you've been dreaming of.

Connect to the vision.

Connect to your emotions.

Connect to your why.

Stay here,

Still and calm,

Excited and alive.

Keep breathing and allow.

Just allow the experiences,

The memories,

The emotions and the feelings to flow.

Stay here,

Listening and feeling for five more minutes and I'll gently bring you back when it's time.

It's time now to bring this practice to an end.

It's time now to reconnect with your body,

Still holding on to the emotions and the images,

Still connected to your why.

Focus again on your breath,

Breathing in deeply and slowly,

Exhaling completely.

Breathe in and breathe out.

Bring your attention now to your hands and feet,

Wiggling your toes,

Wiggling your fingers as you slowly start to become more alert and more aware of your body.

Feel the weight of your hands and feet.

Feel the weight of your legs and your arms.

Gently move your head side to side and you might want to stretch,

Stretch out.

And reconnect to the here and the now.

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes and come back to the room.

Well done.

This is a profoundly deep and powerful practice and one that you can enjoy again and again.

Now take your pen and your notebook if you have them and just rewrite for a few minutes about what came up for you in this meditation.

Because this is your why.

This is your reason for being here and this is what will carry you through and guide you on your path.

Repeat this practice whenever you need to and carry your dreams alive inside of you.

Let them guide you,

Let them support you as you go about your day and as you take the steps to your alcohol-free life.
