Breathe in and fill your elastic lungs.

Let the energy of the in-breath dislodge the tiny bricks of tension that have wedged themselves inside of you.

Breathe out and cleanse your life-giving lungs.

Allow the out-breath to flow out of you like a river,

Carrying with it the crumbling,

Bones and sediment of tension,

Stress and worry.

Let your natural current dismantle your walls,

The ones you build inside throughout the day.

Gently,

Wave by wave,

In and out.

Let the tide of your breath break down the rigid,

Unyielding mortar and rock,

And in its place,

Tenderly deposit pliant layers of resilience,

Wisdom and calm,

Like billowy gobs of muslin.

Allow them to expand with the breath,

With the teachings and learnings of this life,

And allow them to settle with the nurturing rest that is vital to growth.
