And now let us practice a brief Ignatian daily examine.

We begin seated in an upright position,

Dignifying our posture to be one with self and one with God.

Find your breath.

Inhale and exhale.

Recognizing the pauses between the inhalation and the exhalation.

Exhalation and inhalation.

And now the practice of appreciation.

The positive moments,

The gifts you have received today.

You may choose to welcome these gifts,

These positive moments with a smile on your face.

Even after this time of appreciation,

We center ourselves on God's grace,

God's unconditional love,

God's forgiveness for us and for the world.

We prepare to review our day with the sense of God's forgiveness.

Breathing in the grace of God,

An exhalation of gratitude.

And now we begin to review our day.

Breathing in the grace of God,

An exhalation of gratitude.

If your mind wanders,

That's just fine.

Your mind is doing exactly what it's designed to do,

To think.

With deep compassion,

Give thanks for the moment of recognizing that your mind has wandered.

Bring it back to your breath,

To the review of your day.

Inevitably,

Something comes up during our review.

A mistake,

A misstep,

Even a failure on our part.

Find a moment now to ask for forgiveness,

And in receiving that forgiveness,

Also take a moment to forgive yourself.

Living lives of forgiveness and grace is what we're called to do.

So now,

Ask for that forgiveness.

Lean into that unconditional love of God.

And now,

Recognizing that forgiveness is for ourselves,

We set an intention.

An intention to focus our lives on God,

Focus our lives on our faithfulness in Jesus Christ.

So set your intention for greater discipleship in connecting with the one who created you,

The one who liberated you,

And the one who sustains you.

Release.

Resetting.

Restarting with God.

In praying the prayer,

Jesus taught us to pray.

Our Father,

Who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

And forgive us our trespasses,

As we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

And the power,

And the glory forever.

Amen.

Amen.
