You Are Awareness

Let's practice present-moment awareness. In this meditation, we are going to notice that we are not our thoughts, feelings, sensations, or emotions, but awareness itself. It will silence the mind, leading us to be aware of the deeper levels of the being. Background music: Clairvoyance by Syntropy

Hello,

And welcome to this meditation.

Let's start.

So close your eyes,

Take a deep breath in,

And release.

Take another deep breath in,

And release.

Now just allow your breathing to happen naturally,

Inhaling and exhaling through your nostrils,

And just be aware of the breathing.

Notice the air coming into your nostrils,

And the air coming out of your nostrils.

Just relax and be aware of the breathing.

And to be aware of the breathing,

Or to be aware of something or of anything,

You don't have to think.

You don't need to analyze it,

To control it,

To describe it,

To judge it,

To criticize it,

To have an opinion about it.

To be aware of something is not to think about that something.

It's just to notice that something is happening right now,

Or that something exists right now.

So just be aware of the breathing for right now.

And you are always aware of the breathing that is happening right now.

And it's natural for thoughts to arise.

That's the nature of the human mind.

That's the purpose of the mind,

To think.

So if that happens,

If a thought is happening,

Just be aware of that thought.

You can be aware of the thoughts.

So now,

Just be aware.

You can be aware of whatever is happening,

Or you can just be aware.

So you can be aware of thoughts,

Feelings,

Sensations,

Emotions,

Sounds,

Noises.

Whatever is happening now.

Or you can just rest as awareness.

You are just aware.

There is no specific object in your awareness.

You are the awareness that is aware of the present moment.

And to be aware,

You don't need to,

You don't have to do anything,

Including to think.

You just are.

You are not awareness because you are doing something.

You just are awareness.

And if there is a doing happening right now,

And that includes thinking,

You are aware of that doing,

Of the thoughts.

The awareness comes before any doing,

Including thinking.

So just rest as awareness.

And as you stay as awareness,

Everything just passes by.

The feelings come and go.

The emotions come and go.

The thoughts come and go.

And you,

As awareness,

Remain.

Just be aware.

Just rest as awareness.

And by staying as awareness,

You let go of any thought.

You let go of any feelings,

Emotions,

Sensations that come with a thought.

You are not the thoughts.

You are not your thoughts.

And as awareness,

You realize that they are not really your thoughts.

They are just thoughts.

And you are not these thoughts.

And it's natural to identify with a thought.

It's natural to think that.

It's my thought that's mine.

I'm thinking those thoughts.

And that's how we perceive the world,

Through our identified thoughts.

And those thoughts usually come with feelings,

Sensations,

And emotions that make the thought look really real.

Just be aware of this play of existence.

Just be aware of this play of the human mind.

Just rest as awareness.

And when you stay as awareness,

You start not to react instantly to what's happening.

You naturally create space between what's happening and your judgment,

Even if that's for a second or just seconds.

You start to create space between action and reaction.

So let go of any need to react to what's happening right now.

Just stay as awareness.

Just be aware of the present moment.

If a thought is happening right now,

Just be aware of it.

And by staying as awareness,

You naturally are in harmony with the present moment.

You naturally accept what's happening in the now.

And by doing so,

You create space for everything to come and go.

You create space to let go of anything that you hold on to.

So you create space to let go of resentments,

Regrets,

Grudges,

Anger,

Wrath,

Sadness.

It's okay to let go of all of that.

Any of this.

You are not the thoughts that are attached to all of this.

You are not the identity that carries all of this.

You just are.

You just rest as awareness and watch everything coming and going.

And you don't have to think about it.

Just be aware of any thoughts because they're not necessary for you to be aware.

It's okay to let go.

It's okay to rest as awareness,

To stay still.

And you let go of any needs to be right,

To understand,

To worry.

You just let go of all of that by just being present.

By just staying as awareness.

You just are.

And you don't have to do anything to be.

You just are aware.

And you don't have to do anything to become awareness.

Just stay as awareness and let go of the need to think.

Not that you will not think,

But you let go of the need to think.

Thoughts can happen and it's okay if they happen.

You are just aware of them.

Just stay as awareness.

Now we're coming to the end of this meditation.

So slowly start to come back.

Take a deep breath in and release.

Feel your body.

If you want,

You can start moving your body.

And whenever you're ready,

Just come back and open your eyes.
