Hi there,

It's freedom.

I'm so happy that you're here.

I've been thinking a lot about the state of mind that's become socially acceptable in our culture.

And the state of mind that I'm referring to in this case is busyness.

And so somehow we've started to glorify being busy.

And this has led to a very subtle but very potent rise in the sense of competition and also dryness.

So there's a rise in competing for being the most busy,

Which leads to comparative experiences which are far less authentic than non-comparative experiences.

And so a non-comparative experience would be using your own experience to understand the world instead of comparing something that you see outside yourself and then deciding whether or not what you're experiencing is true.

And so Carl Jung said that the people that look outside themselves are dreamers and the people that look inside themselves are awakening.

And so the practice of meditation in these busy times is an effort to look for the stillness instead of observing the busyness.

One of the main symptoms that I see from not being able to commit to looking inside oneself is anxiety.

When we constantly look outside ourselves for reasons or approval or evidence,

We lose a sense of trust in ourselves and we start to get very anxious.

When we consider our technology and the impact that it has in quickening the pace of life,

There's even more of an argument for this.

And so I understand that the train has left the station on our devices,

But I think that it's really important for us as a collective,

United consciousness and source energy tapped in beings to begin to ground down into our individual experiences so that we can see how we connect to the whole.

And so this morning,

I would love if you could find a comfortable seat.

As you find your seat,

If you notice a sense of deep fatigue,

You might decide to lay down,

But make the choice to remain awake,

To stay conscious,

But with the eyes closed.

And so as you find your seat or as you find your supine position on your back space,

Let the eyes come to a close.

Let the hands start to soften.

Let the soles of the feet start to soften.

And then noticing if there is an expression around the eyes.

And so allowing the muscles of the face to release anticipation and soften.

And so getting very soft in the body.

This is a feminine quality,

Becoming soft,

Allowing for your breath to become noticed.

And so oftentimes we don't really notice that we're breathing at all or that the breath is often trapped only in the chest.

And so here with the eyes closed,

The beginning of our practice,

We're just going to observe the breathing.

Taking a few moments to notice the depth of your breath in and the length of your breath out.

And so your instinct might be to try to alter it,

But instead try just focusing on the breath itself.

As you focus on the breath itself,

It will soften.

If you look for it to soften or you try to make it softer,

It will harden.

Because that's part of the irony of the universe.

There's really no other explanation.

We have to get out of the way of the source within by regretting the busyness without.

And so here noticing if the mind has started to list off tasks in the day or goals that need to be achieved or any sense of ambition.

Just let that go.

And starting to count the breath to the count of three.

And so wherever you are,

Let an exhalation go.

And then as you're ready for a breath in and inhale through the nose to the count of three and then pausing at the top.

As you exhale counting to three,

Pausing at the bottom.

As you breathe in three counts to the inhalation and then pausing at the top,

Lengthening the exhale to the count of five.

Pausing at the end.

As you breathe in to the count of three,

Start to imagine vitality coming in.

And as you exhale to the count of five,

Start to imagine releasing stale energy.

Pausing at the bottom.

As you breathe in,

Imagining vitality coming in through the nose,

Charging the body.

And then as you exhale to the count of five,

See that old energy leaving the body through the skin.

Give it back to the earth below you.

As you breathe in to the count of three,

That vitality.

Pausing as you breathe out,

Let go of that ambition.

Five count exhale.

Three more times as you breathe in vitality to the count of three.

As you breathe out,

Releasing to the count of five anything.

Pausing at the bottom.

When you breathe in vitality,

When you breathe out,

Resting.

Last time,

Your breath in to the count of three,

Fill the body with vitality.

As you exhale,

Releasing everything,

No longer serving,

You're resting.

Back to the earth,

The earth will recycle it for you.

Releasing the counting.

And just noticing the style of breathing and maybe a softening inside the body.

Just noticing everything about how you're feeling.

It's okay if you're thinking,

Just letting go of the sense of standing.

And for these last few breaths,

You might choose to repeat a mantra.

I'll offer one.

As you're ready,

You might start to repeat internally.

I am charging my battery.

I am connecting to the source energy.

I embrace my vitality.

It's allowing this notion to repeat inside the body.

I am recharging my battery.

I am connecting to the source energy.

I embrace my vitality.

Checking in with any expression developing in the face.

Noticing if the jaw has tightened,

Softening the whole body.

As you're ready,

Deciding if you feel like moving or if you feel like resting.

If you feel like resting,

You're just going to continue doing what you're doing.

Letting this sense of softness continue to connect you to your vitality,

To your wellspring within.

If you're ready to start moving,

If you've got some things happening,

Feeling like waking,

You start to invite really small movements into the fingers and the toes.

The eyes stay closed.

You start to roll the ankles and the wrists.

Maybe bend the elbows.

Prepare yourself for the impact of light.

Then as you're ready,

Using an exhale,

Let the eyes blink open.

Just taking in the magnificence of everything around you.

Everything around you.

Just take it in.

The aliveness.

Noticing your breath.

Maybe looking around.

Ending your practice.

A very nice meditation. However, it seemed to be of poor quality audio-wise (if that’s even a word). Very appropriate for my life. Thanks

Dearest Freedom 🌸!! I so enjoy your soothing voice and guided meditations, they inspire me and draw me inward with graciousness. I loved your opening thoughts on busyness, I completely agree. I have one note regarding this particular meditation πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ, it seems that there is some sort banging going on in the background. I found it to be a bit distracting. It would be helpful to have a clean recording, so as to really drop in to your guidance. πŸ’žπŸ™πŸ»
