Let's start just by noticing how you are in this moment.
How are you feeling?
Physically?
Emotionally?
Mentally?
Energetically?
Notice what your attitude is to your experience.
How do you feel about how you're feeling?
Thinking?
Being?
Is it possible to welcome in your experience and let go of any need to achieve anything or to get somewhere and just to rest in the openness of what's here and your innate capacity to receive it all equally?
What would it be like to offer that invitation towards welcoming,
Opening,
Receiving?
Offer that to the breath.
Breathe a welcoming breath.
A receiving breath.
How does it feel to receive this breath?
To receive it in the body?
Right down into the belly.
Down into the place of contact on the cushion,
On the ground.
And how might it be to offer this breath to the ground?
To the sense of the earth somewhere below you and to imagine that in turn the earth is receiving you.
Receiving your breath just as you receive your own breath.
Resting in this receiving.
Receiving this restful breath.
And we can be very comfortable in this quality of resting and receiving and at times that may be just what we need and our systems may be just yearning for more rest,
More receiving,
More opening to the support that's here in the breath,
In the earth beneath you.
This earth that holds you,
Supports you.
And there's other times that may be that what's needed is a little more alertness,
A little more wakefulness.
And it's really for you to tune into yourself and to feel what's needed.
To find that equilibrium between comfort and alertness.
Between rest and wakefulness.
Finding the middle way.
And it's not even that you need to do anything or correct or fix because your system has its own intelligence.
Your energy knows what's needed.
And when you need more wakefulness,
Your system will provide that.
Providing you're open to that.
How do you feel available to your own wakefulness?
That subtle spring within you gently bubbles up.
At times,
This energy within you of wakefulness,
Of presence,
Of deep-rooted awareness.
At times,
This energy will just be very gentle,
Very subtle.
Just purring away in the background.
Like an undertone,
A hum that evades your experience.
And at other times,
It'll be more active.
At times,
It may be gushing forth.
The present directly saturating the foreground of your experience under its vitality,
Its aliveness,
Its presence.
And there's really no right or wrong to how it is.
However it is,
Is just how it needs to be.
And if you feel that there are tensions and contractions,
Flinchings in your energy,
In your body.
If you feel that there is this tense conditioning holding it back,
Well then that's what it's meant to be too.
And where this energy,
This inner spring,
This babbling brook within you begins to spill out and make contact with those tensions and contractions.
That's the edge of awakening.
That's the meeting point of your karma and your dharma,
Your conditioning and your awakening.
And in those two qualities meeting,
Those two energies of stagnation and flow meeting,
That is the healing,
That is the awakening.
So notice where you feel those edges,
Those tensions and contractions,
Those areas of stagnation and numbness.
And there's space here for them.
And then welcoming in this inner flow,
In this divine spring to gently work its magic and so can saturate your being with divine presence,
Divine awakening.
So that each area of tension or numbness,
Rather than being a problem to solve,
Is simply a reality to experience.
An opportunity to experience the richness,
The aliveness,
The vitality of the healing awakening process.
Stepping into the journey,
Turning to face catalyzation,
This process,
This unfurling,
This healing awakening.
And miraculously,
There's nothing you need to do.
This process is unfurling all by itself.
And even the act of resisting it or contracting around and against it is part of the process.
Beyond you and your reactions,
There is just this field of openness and welcoming,
In which the spring within you continues to unfurl.
And this divine presence that you are continues to expand and include,
Open and embrace.
Welcome home.
And then we can rest in the silence and stillness,
Out of which and through which this process,
This unfurling is appearing.
Stillness moving,
Emptiness dancing,
Unknowable divine mystery unfurling as healing and awakening.
Reactions and preferences,
Meeting the field that offers no reaction,
No preference.
It simply is,
Open to what's unfurling.
In this field,
This boundless open field of welcoming,
Of divine presence,
It is already your nature.
It is already who you are.
Prior to any effort to make it so,
You are this.
And this is everything.
This is all there is.
This is it.
Wherever you are,
However you are in this practice,
An invitation to bring the qualities of openness,
Beingness,
Presence,
That have been allowed to spill out from within,
Splash out into your system,
Soak in your experience and your perception of your experience.
Welcoming this quality of field,
Presence,
Awareness.
And welcoming it more and more into the body and the breath and the bones of your being.
The physicality,
The viscerality of this body,
Breath,
Being.
Such that presence and body are not two,
But one being,
One experience,
One unfurling,
Alive presence.
And then softening your focus,
Your attention.
And just consciously allowing a little movement in the body.
And welcoming a more comfortable posture,
Settling in a little more deeply into the cushion.
Letting go of any need for alertness.
And just resting more deeply into comfort.
And into this field of blessings.
The fruits of this practice.
Inviting and receiving blessing for these last few moments together.
