Welcome to this visualization exercise about finding inner peace.
I should better say creating inner peace because it is a combination of self-reflection,
Acceptance and conscious effort.
There is no pause button for life,
It keeps going on.
The same goes on for your thoughts.
And sometimes we just need calm,
A quiet moment,
A peaceful mind.
The majority of people live in a constant state of overwhelm and try to distract themselves from the mental shatter and the weight of their worries and regrets without processing them.
Yeah,
A glass of whisky might bring your temporary illusion of relief,
But as I said,
It is temporary and an illusion.
I acknowledge you for being here today.
It's not the easiest way,
But it is one that works.
Peace is an active process,
A discipline.
I'm going to ask you to close your eyes and slowly breathe in,
Breathe out.
You decided to be here,
So choose to be here fully,
As there is nowhere else you should be right now.
Take a moment to consider the weight you've been carrying,
The burden of trying to control everything,
The discord,
Disturbance and unrest where there is a lack of order and stability.
Picture it in your mind,
Give it a shape and a color.
Keep breathing in,
Breathe out.
On the next inhale,
I want you to contract every single muscle of your body.
Contract your core,
Your legs,
Your arms,
Your fingers,
Your toes,
Your face.
Come on,
Keep contracting.
Hold your breath,
Contract as strong as you can and put all that tension in the shape that you visualized and release.
Let it out of your body.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Okay,
Let's do it one more time.
Breathe in,
Visualize that shape being a bit smaller than it was just before.
Contract every single muscle of your body,
Your core,
Your legs,
Your arms,
Your fingers and toes,
Your face.
Come on,
Keep contracting.
Hold your breath.
Now you're going to dissolve it,
Let it shatter in pieces while it's leaving your body and release inside.
Good.
We often get caught up in reviewing the past and rehearsing the future.
We keep thinking about our life and we end up stuck in our thoughts.
It's great to learn from past experiences and have goals for the future,
But we can only experience life in the present moment.
I know you know,
But admit it,
We all forget that from time to time,
Don't we?
Stop dwelling on what's behind you,
Quit rehearsing the future.
Life is unpredictable,
Accept that.
No focus,
Right here,
Right now,
This moment,
Feel your breath moving in and out,
That is life in its purest form.
In this very moment,
There is peace.
It's not in what was or what might be,
No,
It's here.
Breathe in peace,
Breathe out worries,
Breathe in peace,
Surrender.
Life might not give you what you want,
But it damn sure gives you what you need,
Even if it doesn't seem like it at the time.
What if from today,
You would trust life just a little bit more?
Yeah,
Life is not just a fairy tale,
The reality is that it can be unfair and brutal.
I mean,
Natural disasters,
Wars,
Accidents,
Inequalities,
It's tough out there.
The problem is that we believe that things should be the way we want,
And if it doesn't,
We think something is wrong,
So we end up fighting with our individual will against the inevitability of life,
And we lose our peace.
I am not telling you to give up,
To stop fighting.
Giving up is when you lose hope,
And there is a general feeling of defeat.
Surrendering does not imply defeat or weakness,
It is about letting go of control in a way that opens doors to freedom and inner peace.
It's the act of releasing our grip on situations,
Emotions,
And outcomes that are beyond our control.
We all seek to influence our lives positively,
But there comes a point when our desire for control starts causing more stress and resistance than growth.
The paradox here is that the more we try to have control,
The slower the progress and the lower your happiness.
You can only change the context in which you experience your problems.
They will fundamentally stay the same,
No matter what,
You can't completely remove them from your life,
So no need to fight it.
Do you feel that peace?
It's right here,
Right now,
In this surrender,
In this trust.
Begin to bring your awareness to the sounds around you.
Can you hear cars passing by in the street?
The sound of the wind in the trees,
Maybe some birds,
Or the rhythm of your own heart?
Just let these sounds come and go without getting caught up in them.
Feel the touch of your body against whatever you're sitting or lying on.
Notice the sensation of your clothes against your skin.
Take a moment to really feel the textures and the temperatures.
Give your fingers and toes a little wiggle and feel the awareness of your physical presence.
Even though your eyes are closed,
Notice the play of light and the shadow behind your eyelids.
It will turn your attention to your sense of smell.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and notice any scents,
Whether it's the smell of fresh air,
A familiar scent,
Or even the subtle aroma of your surroundings.
What do you taste?
Let's take a few more deep breaths together,
Soaking in the richness of each of these senses,
Bringing your awareness to all of them simultaneously.
Hear,
Feel,
See,
Smell,
Taste.
As you keep breathing,
Just let yourself be right here,
Fully in this moment.
Take pleasure in the simple yet amazing experiences that your senses are bringing to you.
And as you stand in the present moment,
Ask yourself,
What if this moment right here is enough?
What if you didn't need to achieve more,
Acquire more,
Or control more to be at peace?
What if,
In this very moment,
You are whole and complete just as you are?
What if every challenge you face is an opportunity to discover your own resilience,
Your own power?
What if the universe has a plan far grander than you can imagine?
What if everything that happens,
Every twist and turn,
Is guiding you to where you're supposed to be?
Can you trust in that process,
Even when it feels difficult?
How would it feel if you fully trusted the journey of your life?
What does it free you to do,
To be,
To explore?
What if peace is not something you attain,
But something you are?
What if it's not a destination,
But a state of being?
Can you allow yourself to simply be at peace right now,
Without needing to change anything?
Now,
As you continue to breathe deeply,
Visualize the rest of the day where you carry this peace with you,
Where you face challenges with a calm heart and a clear mind.
How would that change your approach to difficulties?
How would that impact your relationships?
How would it shape your overall experience of life?
Now take a few moments to sit in this feeling of peace,
Before slowly opening your eyes.
Carry this sense of tranquility with you as you step back into your day,
Knowing that you can return to this peaceful state whenever you choose to.
Hey,
You've got this!
