Hello,
Today I'll be leading us through a grounding breath meditation.
It's important that we set our foundation up and we inhabit our body with compassion to claim agency over our lives,
To gain confidence and open up to the present.
We use the body and the breath to connect to the earth,
Encouraging our bodies to self-regulate.
This is a great practice to start your day or end the day as a transition.
Find a comfortable seat,
Laying down,
Whatever position feels good for your body.
Using one hand on your heart and one hand on your stomach if available to you.
Taking a few breaths in and out your nose to settle in.
Noticing the quality of your breath.
If your breath is in your chest or your belly,
Tuning in.
Knowing that each inhale is nourishing the body and each exhale you're releasing.
Bring your awareness to the soles of your feet.
If you're sitting and your feet are flat on the floor.
Notice the sensation of your feet being supported by the earth.
If you're laying down,
Feel your full body be supported.
Being held and nourished.
Imagining your roots growing deep into the earth.
Feeling your inhaling from the feet all the way up to the crown of your head.
And as you exhale,
From the top of your head,
Grounding down in through your feet into the earth.
Starting to imagine the inhale from your feet to the crown of your head,
This grounding filling you up.
And as you exhale,
Grounding even deeper.
Inhaling,
Filling up,
Exhale,
Grounding further.
You can even say to yourself,
I am deeply rooted.
I am deeply rooted.
Trying to use your breath to anchor,
To ground,
To find stability.
You can continue if you'd like,
But if you're ready to be guided out,
Placing your hands,
Palms face up on your legs or palms face up,
Taking a big breath in through the nose and a deep exhale out the mouth,
Letting it all out.
Inviting movement back into your body,
Maybe giving yourself a stretch and sending yourself gratitude for taking the time to practice.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
