Inner Stillness

Keeping our body and mind tense doesn't let us access our inner stillness. This short practice aims to help in releasing the tension from anything that is holding us back from centering ourselves and feeling calm and present in the moment.

Welcome to this meditation for letting go and connecting to the stillness within.

Sit or lie down in a comfortable position and when you are ready close your eyes.

Take a deep breath sending it all the way down to your belly and when you breathe out let everything go and relax.

Take another deep breath and on your out breath just let yourself surrender in this moment.

Now drop your awareness in your body and notice if there is any tension stored there.

You can start by scanning your body from the head to your throat to your chest and then continue by bringing your awareness to your belly,

Your pelvis and your legs to check if there is anything stored there in terms of emotions or tension.

It might come up as just a feeling of energy floating in that area or it might be causing you to feel a certain emotion when you bring your awareness to a specific body part.

Now send your breath to the area where you felt the tension,

If it is more you will do this for every area.

And when you take a deep breath imagine that you are sending it to the area that you felt tension and with your in breath you are increasing the tension and when you breathe out imagine you are letting it go out through your mouth.

Take another deep breath send it to the area where you felt tension,

Increase the feeling of tension with your in breath and then when you breathe out imagine all of this tension is just leaving your body through your exhale.

Do this for all the areas where you felt that there is tension,

Send the breath,

Increase and let go.

Now,

If there is anything or anyone with whom you might be feeling tension either when you are with them or when you think about them or a specific situation that you can feel that it causes you tension,

Bring that to mind,

The situation or the person.

Take a deep breath increasing the tension that you feel with them and when you breathe out imagine like having a pair of scissors with which you are cutting the cords of tension between you and them,

Either the situation or the person and let the feeling of tension go as you are cutting the cords.

Take a deep breath again,

Send it in your awareness and then imagine the tension being caused to you by a specific situation or person and imagine as you are breathing out you are just cutting this connection that causes this tension.

Feel free to do this as many times or with as many situations as you wish.

Now,

Let's take a deep breath in and out.

Now imagine a healing light that is coming all around you,

Circling you and as it is coming with its lightness and its healing energy is melting away any old tension.

It is cleansing your energy field and you are feeling all relaxed and calm.

Now sink deeply into this stillness and let yourself completely let go,

Enjoying this peace.

Let this light surround you and get into every cell of your being along with the stillness that it brings to you.

That stillness is coming from you.

Now bring your awareness to your heart,

Go inwards and feel gratitude for the things that are helpful and positive in your life.

Feel the energy of love expanding in your heart as you are thinking of all of the things that you are grateful for.

Now slowly bring your awareness back into the room where you are at and start moving your fingers,

Being aware of the room around you and when you are ready open your eyes.
