Welcome.

Thank you for allowing me to participate with you in your journey to internalize the simple science of smiling.

Make yourself comfortable by sitting still or laying down.

Close your eyes.

Allow the muscles in your face and in your neck and in your shoulders to fall.

Help relax your body and mind by just listening to your breathing.

Breathe very deeply and very slowly.

Quiet your mind of any questions,

Responsibilities,

Thoughts,

And desires by just breathing deeply,

By staying relaxed and still.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Let's begin.

Genuine smiling is useful at any time,

Whether it's during times of personal and worldwide upset.

Smiling helps to release endorphins and serotonin.

Together,

These natural brain chemicals make us feel good.

Not only do they elevate our mood,

But they also relax our body and mind,

Which can help lower our blood pressure.

Realize this means that smiling can help us to control our physiology whenever we want or need.

Take a slow deep breath in and out.

As we know instinctively,

Smiling is infectious,

And this is the kind of infection we want to spread because helping others to smile amplifies feelings of fulfillment within ourselves instantly.

Have you ever noticed that when someone smiled at you,

You couldn't help but smile back?

Smiling makes us look younger.

Smiling helps elevate our mood and therefore lovingly improves the way we treat one another,

And more importantly,

The way we treat ourselves.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Here is a simple technique to help you smile.

Imagine yourself as a newborn infant seeing your parents smiling down at you for the very first time.

Their smiling causes you to smile,

And within seconds,

You notice a warm and relaxed feeling washing over you.

Right now,

Let this imagery put a genuine smile on your face.

Note how powerful the smile feels when it is based in love and happiness.

This is what a genuine smile feels like,

And this is how a genuine smile is created.

Take another deep breath in and out.

Think of smiling as an endless resource to help you during times of personal and worldwide upset,

Because it helps us and others to be put at ease whenever we want,

Wherever we want,

With whom we want,

And for as long as we want.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Please take a moment to appreciate and thank yourself for taking time to listen to this meditation.

Take all the time you need to just breathe,

And remember you can return to this meditation whenever you please.

Remember that the more you practice this meditation,

The faster and easier it will work for you.

Thank you for beginning your journey to internalize the simple science of smiling,

And when you're ready,

Slowly open your eyes and let me leave you with these words,

It's a great day to be alive.

Sweet reflexion on the power of smiling. Very relaxing... plus, it made me smile all the way. Yesterday, for some reason, the meditation wouldn’t load, I’m glad I tried again today.
