Okay,
Good morning,
Good morning,
Good morning,
Good morning.
So today I want to talk about something kind of personal,
Which you guys know if you follow me at all,
If you've ever followed me,
You know that I bring my life to my work.
And so I had something happen and I thought,
You know,
Because you know me,
I have to make a lesson out of everything.
So I was made to,
Made to,
And there's a reason why I'm saying it this way,
I was made to feel less than over the weekend.
Okay,
So lots of problems with that statement,
Right?
Made to makes it feel like it's somebody else's fault,
But it never is,
Right?
And then the idea that I was feeling less than isn't that great either,
Right?
So it's just so fascinating.
I love how spirit works in my life.
And you guys have probably heard me talk about that many times,
Right?
I love how spirit works in my life.
Everything is a lesson,
Obviously,
For me,
Right?
And you know,
I don't like the idea of being made to feel less than or even feeling less than,
Right?
So I started thinking about why I was feeling this way.
And you know,
I'm not gonna get into the circumstance,
Of course,
But,
But,
You know,
I remember and this quote comes to my brain all the time when I'm feeling not so great,
Which isn't very often,
By the way,
You know,
I mean,
Like,
I'm pretty,
The reason why they call me the happy medium is because I'm just pretty much happy and go lucky or whatever you want to say for most of the time,
Right?
But the Eleanor Roosevelt quote came to my head,
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
No one,
Right?
So here I am feeling sort of sorry for myself and feeling a little less than because I,
You know,
Some things were said to me that made me feel pretty lousy.
But again,
Once I started thinking about it,
I thought,
Okay,
I have a choice as to how I can react to this.
It's all our own choice.
And that's the beauty of it.
It's a blessing and a curse,
Right?
So then I started looking and I thought,
You know what?
I know Eleanor Roosevelt had other stuff to say about this.
So I found another quote by her and she said,
You can often change your circumstances by changing your attitude,
Which is basically sort of the same thing said in a different way.
But if you,
It's all in our own minds,
We have so much power in our minds.
We have so much power.
We can,
We can,
With that little flick of a switch in our brain,
We can feel fantastic or we can feel really,
Really lousy.
It's our choice.
It's our choice,
Right?
So I flipped that switch in my head and I started realizing that I have a choice in how I can think of this.
Just because somebody feels,
Here's the thing,
And I was told this from a very young age,
Not everybody's going to like you.
Not everybody is going to want you to feel 100% happy and uplifting,
Uplifted all the time.
There are some people who are just,
And they might be people that you love.
So it's all our choice.
And guess what?
Today I allowed myself yesterday,
I allowed myself yesterday to feel kind of lousy because as I was thinking it through,
Because that's how I do,
You know,
But today I choose happy.
I'm back to happy.
I choose happy because I don't like walking around feeling junky all the time.
So today our meditation is going to be based on that.
I want us all to feel,
I want us all to feel like we have a choice because we do,
Right?
So let's get ourselves,
Let's get ourselves comfy,
Get your blanket.
I have my little scarf thing.
It's not really a scarf.
I don't know what it is,
But I have my,
My little thing that I wrap myself in.
And today it's just going to be beautiful.
So get yourself comfy.
Put your feet either on the floor or cross legged.
It doesn't matter.
Whatever feels good for you.
Let your eyes gently go closed.
Let's take a really beautiful,
Deep cleansing breath in.
So let's breathe in through our nose.
Really slow,
Really slow.
Making sure that that air gets every cell and release.
Doesn't that feel good?
That felt so good.
We're going to do that again.
So let's breathe in really slow.
And let it out.
I don't know about you,
But that makes me put a smile on my face.
Getting rid of that bad air and breathing in the good air.
Beautiful.
So as we have been doing,
As we get ready to sit in the silence and stillness,
Let's start the day out again by thinking of three things that we are grateful for.
It's so beautiful to start a day out that way.
And again,
Like I say,
It's,
It sets the trajectory of your day.
So what are three things?
I can tell you one of mine.
I didn't have cream for my coffee yesterday,
Actually for several days.
And I got cream yesterday.
So I am thankful for cream.
Thankful for the beautiful mattress that I have.
And I got a really good night's sleep.
I am so thankful for friends.
Friends who love me unconditionally.
What are you thankful for?
And to further that thought of gratitude,
What is one thing that you love about yourself?
What is one thing that makes you feel like you know your stuff?
What is one thing?
Beautiful.
When we start our day out thinking of these things that we're grateful for,
And that we actually know that we love about ourselves,
That's when you know the day is going to go well,
Right?
So as we get ourselves relaxed,
Let's start with our head and our neck.
Start to relax ourselves.
Relax our neck and shoulders.
Our arms and our torso.
Our abdomen.
Our hips.
And our legs.
Let's relax all of the muscles in our body.
Today's mantra is Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
And that is Sanskrit for I am compassion.
What a beautiful way to start out our week.
Meditating on compassion.
Compassion for ourselves.
Compassion for others.
Compassion for the world.
Karuna Hum.
So if you find yourself drifting away,
Just be very nice to yourself and gently come back.
Have some compassion for yourself and gently come back to the mantra.
Karuna Hum.
I will keep the time.
And let's begin.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
Karuna Hum.
I am compassion.
Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.
Start gently moving around a little bit.
Let's take one last nice long slow deep breath in.
And release.
And whenever you feel comfortable,
You can open your eyes.
That was beautiful.
And I want to end this today by telling you again the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt.
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.
We have control over this.
So that being said,
I wish you all a beautiful beautiful day and a wonderful evening today.
And it's going to be beautiful outside hopefully everywhere where everyone is.
It's beautiful if it's beautiful in our minds.
So until next time,
Until tomorrow,
Every weekday,
Namaste everybody.
Thank you for joining and I appreciate you.
