Good morning everybody and welcome to Monday morning meditation.

Yeah,

I know sometimes I sound a little too up,

But that actually kind of goes with what we're talking about today.

So that's actually kind of cool.

Today I want to talk about affirmations.

Now some of you may absolutely know exactly what I'm talking about and some of you may be like,

Wait what?

So today's meditation is well actually what I'm going to talk about what I'm going to talk about before the meditation is affirmations.

I use them a lot and an affirmation is really just like kind of honestly nice things that we say to ourselves.

It's really that simple.

The sort of the person that made this sort of hip and cool is Louise Hay.

If you've ever heard of her and if you haven't you can go ahead and Google her.

I'm not getting into too much about what who she is and stuff,

But she's sort of the the founder one of the founders of like the self-help movement.

So she created this publishing house at age 62 which gives me hope.

But anyway she uses and her use I guess I could say of affirmations has changed people's lives.

So basically what it is is that you say nice things to yourself,

But you say you have to be sort of empowering.

I start every day.

I try to start every day.

I'll be honest if I'm nothing if I'm not honest about this.

I wake up and I say thank you.

I try every morning.

I try to do that.

It just sort of gets your mind set in this different place of like I have to get up.

If you can do that it starts your day on a different trajectory.

Anything really though that makes you feel good and uplifted is key,

Is fantastic.

I wanted to tell you a couple of the things that a couple of these are mine that I made up and some are hers,

Meaning Louise Hay.

One of my most favorite ones that she says is all is well.

When you say that to yourself you kind of think wow all is well.

You know I talk a lot about living in the present and all that kind of stuff.

All is well is like right now all is well.

We're sitting here if you're listening to me talk or you're watching me talk or whatever all is well right in this present moment.

I love that.

Another one another really great one is I love myself just the way I am.

Then a couple others I'll just say thank you and I am loved.

My all-time favorite one is that I love and accept myself.

If you just say it over and over again and today what we're gonna do is we are gonna use one of these and I'm gonna allow you to choose of course.

We're gonna use one of those as our mantra for today during our meditation.

Here's the thing when we say it over and over again sometimes right when we first start saying I love and accept myself or if we do the mirror work that I've talked before about.

I love you in the mirror can be daunting a daunting thing to do but if we say it over and over again at first it doesn't feel like you believe it.

It doesn't feel it doesn't feel that great at all.

It doesn't feel real doesn't feel truthful but the more you do it the longer you say I love you in the mirror you kind of start to believe it and that's the key.

That right there is the key to the whole thing.

Today for meditation I'd like us all to choose a mantra.

Let's not go easy here.

Let's go a little deep.

Let's like challenge ourselves a little bit.

My normal mantra affirmation that I usually go with is I am courageous because even though I've got you know an online presence and I've got this podcast and all of that stuff I still deal with fear.

I still deal with being scared about life stuff like what people think about me.

I mean I'm human we're all human right.

So my go-to affirmation is I am courageous because it like it helps me to sort of live into it if I can.

You can say I am love.

You could say I love you.

You can say there is love all around me.

You can say that I am healthy if you're not really really healthy right now.

You can say I am healthy.

You can say I mean you can say anything.

What tweaks your melon?

I don't know where I got that one from but what tweaks your melon?

What makes you like what like what word makes you feel like oh wow I need to say that.

Thank you.

You can say thank you.

Right okay so as we're sitting here getting ready to meditate with our beautiful new little affirmation let's um let's gently let our eyes close.

Yeah get yourself comfy in a comfortable position sitting comfy because like davidji always says comfort is clean and what we want to do as we're creating our practice of meditation we want to get us keep ourselves comfortable so that we want to come back and do it again.

That's the most important thing right well always one of the most important things.

So okay so let's get ourselves comfy get your blanket if you want to just sit comfortable in your chair and let's take a nice long slow deep breath in so breathe in through your nose and hold it allowing the air to go through all your body and release.

Allowing yourself to exhale out any stress of the day that you've had so far.

Any anxiety.

Let's take another nice long deep deep breath in.

Breathe it in and release.

Beautiful beautiful.

So let's let our hands sit on our laps.

Let's do palms up today allowing the energy from the universe to come to us and always possible.

And as we get ready to begin our meditation let's consider our gratitude for the day.

What are three things that you are grateful for?

Think of three things that you're truly grateful for and you can play small or you can play large.

You can say the coffee I had this morning.

You can say that I'm alive or you can go really really deep and say I'm so thankful for where I am in my life right now.

Or you can say I'm thankful that for my health.

Whatever it is three things that you're grateful for.

And as we start on that note let's let's let's get together our affirmation that we've chosen for today.

Whatever it is I am love.

I love and accept myself.

Or I am courageous.

Or I free myself from all fear and doubt.

So choose your affirmation and let's begin.

I will keep the time so you don't need to worry about that.

If you find yourself wandering with your thoughts be gentle to yourself.

Be good to yourself and just gently bring yourself back to your mantra.

We all have thoughts and it's all it's absolutely fine to fall asleep or to drift.

Just bring yourself back and let's begin.

You you you you you you you you you you you you you you you Bring your awareness back to the room where you are.

Let's take a beautiful,

Long,

Deep breath in.

Breathe in.

And release.

Ahhhhh.

It's beautiful.

And please know that you,

This is your affirmation.

Whatever affirmation you chose,

It's yours.

And you can do it,

You can use it anytime you want whenever you're doing meditation.

Or just throughout your day.

It's all yours.

It's so funny because I try to keep it really real on my lives and stuff,

Right?

But I found myself in a place of fear.

And I was like,

Oh my gosh,

What if this happens,

What if that happens?

And then I thought,

You know what?

I am courageous.

I am courageous.

So that's where I kept thinking.

I kept bringing myself back to.

And that's who we are and that's what this practice is all about.

So,

I wish for you all a beautiful,

Wonderful day.

Filled with love and fun and joy.

So,

Until next time everybody,

Namaste and thank you for joining.

Take care.
