This practice is designed for small business owners,
Entrepreneurs and anyone who is self-employed.
To begin,
It's best if you have your journal and pen handy.
Please make sure that you are comfortable and that you won't be disturbed for this practice.
Let's begin by taking some deep breaths.
Breathe in through your nose,
Pause at the top of the inhale if you can for a moment and let it go with the sigh,
Letting go of tension.
Breathing in again when you are ready,
Pausing at the top of your inhale and letting it go with a sigh on the exhale,
Letting go,
Letting go.
Breathing in again when you are ready,
Draw that breath in through your nose,
Pausing at the top and on the exhale letting go of all the effort required to bring you to this point in your day and letting it all go.
We're going to take a few minutes here to write.
Please write down all of the things that come to mind that you are putting off,
Delaying,
Procrastinating about.
I'm going to give you some time here to write down as much as you can.
Keep going,
We have a few more moments here.
Take a look at your list.
Is there anything that you can simply cross off?
And if so,
Do that now.
I'd like you to take your pen and place a number next to everything you have written down,
Starting with the number one for that which you feel the most resistance towards,
That which you procrastinate about the most.
And then the next with number two,
Making your way through your list of whatever is on your page.
Once that is complete,
For anything that remains,
Take a moment to consider why they are on your list.
Do they serve a purpose?
What will they help you achieve?
Does it feel like something you should do?
Does it feel like obligation?
Take some time to reflect here.
You are welcome to make any notes that you feel called to make.
Placing your pen and journal down,
Make sure you are comfortable and your spine is supported.
Close down your eyes and take a deep breath.
Breathe in through your nose and let it go with an audible sigh.
On your next breath,
See if you can let go of the heaviness that comes with this list.
Perhaps it feels like a burden.
Perhaps it's a weight on your shoulders or a monkey on your back.
Take some deep breaths and let it go on the exhale.
Allow yourself to be audible in your exhale as you let go of the heaviness.
That's it.
Keep going,
Letting go of that sense of should.
Letting go of the weight,
The pressure.
Making the most out of these last few breaths,
Really letting go on that exhale.
And now that you have released that weight,
That burden,
That sense of heaviness,
It's time now to lean into our intuition.
To gain a deeper understanding of our procrastination.
We're going to take some time here for guidance and wisdom to come to you.
If you would like to use a prompt to support your intuition,
Simply ask this one question.
What do I get from procrastinating?
What is my payoff?
There will be something that you get from procrastination.
Perhaps you get to stay comfortable,
Safe.
Perhaps it means that you do not have to venture into territory that is unfamiliar.
Perhaps a part of you knows that without that procrastination you will create a life of abundance.
Perhaps that's scary.
There will be a payoff and it is our job to explore what that is so that we may no longer be at the mercy of this negative self-belief.
You Take a moment to look to the future.
See if you can imagine how it feels to have achieved what is written on your page.
What would it feel like?
Would it be heavy or light?
See if you can allow yourself to feel what that future looks like.
Allowing your imagination to support you.
And it is my great hope that that future vision is filled with feeling states like success,
Accomplishment,
Pride,
Joy,
Progress,
Determination and perhaps even excitement.
Let's take some time here to build these feeling states whatever they are for you.
Looking to the future and feeling what that future experience is like when we no longer give in to procrastination.
We no longer avoid the things that will bring us that which we ultimately desire.
Let those feelings grow.
Visualize yourself doing and completing what is written in front of you.
Visualize the person that you are when you do them.
How it feels and what that experience is like.
Let's take a moment to feel into this,
To visualize,
To imagine that future reality so that we may draw it closer to us.
I'd like to invite you to join me in feeling accomplished now.
If you'd like to place your hand over your heart please do so.
Bringing ourselves into a feeling state of accomplishment.
And now switching to a sense of pride,
Feeling proud of ourselves for that which we have done.
And lastly switching into a feeling state of completion.
That feeling of having something on a list and crossing it off.
The satisfaction that comes from completing something.
That sense of achievement.
Perhaps allow it to bring a smile to your face,
A lightness to your heart and a weightlessness to your shoulders.
No tension to be found.
Just holding this feeling for a little longer.
And now we take a deep breath and let it go.
If your hand is over your heart return it to your lap or anywhere that feels comfortable for you.
And it is time to bring this practice to a close so that you may start to create the reality that you have just envisioned.
Start to bring some gentle movement back into your body.
When you are ready blink open your eyes,
And let's get to work.
