Take a moment to settle into your space.

I invite you to close your eyes if it's comfortable for you.

Start to notice your feet on the floor,

Your legs on your seat,

And your hands in your lap.

Maybe taking three big deep breaths with an audible sigh to signal to your nervous system that it's time to take a pause.

Again.

And another.

Returning now to a normal pace of breathing in and out through your nose.

And notice if there's been a slight shift.

And imagine now that we're at the beach.

The weather is perfect.

Your temperature is comfortable.

The sun or shade that you have is just what you need.

And as you walk or sit or lie there,

You feel a sense of peace wash over you.

Starting at your toes and traveling all the way up through your calves,

Knees and thighs.

Past your hips,

Swirling through your torso and your internal organs.

Up through your shoulders as you feel them soften.

Down your arms to your fingertips.

And lastly,

It washes over your head and your eyes soften even more.

You feel like you're absolutely able to let go and release in this moment.

You continue to breathe at a natural pace as you feel your body fill with peace.

And you notice that the tide seems to be driven by your breath.

As you deeply inhale,

The tide comes up closer to you.

And as you exhale,

The tide goes out.

And as you slow your breath,

It gives a sense of even greater rhythm to the waves and water rushing in and away from the shore.

You breathe for a few moments,

Just feeling that sense of power,

That power of your breath and its ability to calm the waters.

In and out goes the breath.

In and out goes the tide.

Very rhythmically.

And in tune.

And you realize that any given point when the waters get choppy,

When the waters seem rough,

That you have the power and the ability to influence them.

And your feeling of peace grows even stronger.

In and out goes your breath.

In and out goes the tide.

And you stay there for a moment,

Enjoying the sense of peace and this knowing of your own personal power to calm the waters.

In and out goes the breath.

And whenever you're ready,

You can bring your attention back to the space around you.

The contact points on your chair,

Your feet on the floor,

Your hands in your lap.

Taking one last deep breath here.

I invite you to open your eyes.

My favorite part was โ€œyou have the power to calm the waters when they get roughโ€ I donโ€™t have to let rough times control my state of mind and being, ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ
