Hello and welcome to your evening meditation,
Preparing you for deep sleep.
As we begin this meditation,
We will draw our attention to the physical body,
Beginning with a scan of awareness at the top of the head.
Rather than judging yourself for the state your body is in right now,
What if you chose a non-judgmental awareness?
Noticing where the mind is at this moment as you scan through the head,
Allowing the facial muscles to release,
Allowing the jaw to relinquish that tension.
Maybe your shoulders begin to drop down into the bed beneath you as your heart begins to lift and become buoyant.
This awareness begins to drop down from the heart space into the lungs as you receive your next inhale,
Naturally breathing in that fresh air and releasing your exhale,
Becoming more connected to your physical body than before.
Allowing the soft scan of awareness to go down the belly and digestive tract,
Down the hips and legs,
Into the knees,
The shins,
The calf,
The ankles and the feet.
And as you take a moment to pause,
Recognizing that you are shifting from this state of yang energy action into the yin of rest,
Of ease and of peace.
You can give your body and mind permission now to arrive here.
The busyness of our mind can draw us away from the current moment,
Thinking about our tasks we have to do for tomorrow,
Things that were said or done in the day that feel unfinished.
But there is nothing that you need to do about that right now.
Your focus right now is to allow your body to recalibrate so it can easily transition into deep sleep.
With your next inhale that you receive,
Allow this fresh breath to be like the inner wind clearing out the mind,
Clearing out any obsessions of the past,
Releasing any cravings for the future,
And choosing with your awareness to arrive right here,
Right now,
In presence with your body,
Your mind and your spirit.
Each inhale allows the muscles in the body to relax,
To let go,
Allowing you to breathe deeper,
Allowing you to release.
When a thought arrives,
Offering an opportunity of fixating on that thought,
Allow yourself to choose to see that thought like a cloud passing in the sky,
Not ignoring its presence,
Nor fixating on it,
Just allow it to pass,
Always returning to your breath.
Your focus right now is to allow yourself to receive this ease as each soft inhale and soft exhale drops you deeper and deeper and deeper into peace.
With your next inhale,
Allow that awareness to travel into the belly.
This space of rising and falling breath allows you to see the ease that comes as you allow the body to disarm,
Connecting here to your life force energy,
Allowing it to recharge.
With the next inhale,
Allow that breath to expand all the way through the belly and as you exhale,
Connecting to that inner wind and releasing any energy that is not yours,
That you have gathered through the day and allow that to be like dust lifting off of you,
Creating a weightlessness in your spirit.
And through the breath in the belly,
Seeing a golden cord that has connected you to your physical body,
That although this weightlessness may be present,
You stay grounded in this peace and ease.
You are learning now that it is safe to be in your body.
It is safe for you to empty your mind.
Each breath roots you deeper into this safety.
As you begin to drift deeper and deeper into the dreamtime state,
You are safe.
You are safe to rest deeply.
You are safe in your body.
With each soft inhale and easeful exhale,
You find yourself releasing more than ever before into this deep,
Deep sleep.
