Buddhists are vegetarians. This story still goes around the world. It is not true. Buddhists, even the monks, are allowed to eat meat. Food has an important function in our life, it affects our body and mind all the time. When we look at the neurobiological side of the digestive system we find that science slowly gets convinced that it has a “mind of its own” In other words, science slowly starts to accept that the digestive system has some kind of brain function in the body.
