This is the series immunity.
Part 2 is about the air,
Your lungs,
As a defense system.
Our lungs are vital to our energy,
But also all other systems of the body.
Even the mentioned skin depends on it.
The lungs take in all the air we need.
But with that air a lot of dangers are able to enter our body.
Our lungs are part of the whole respiration system that starts in the mouth and nose.
The first part of the air defense starts in the nose and the mouth.
In these parts the air is cleared of large particles and as far as possible cleaned and heated to an acceptable level.
But to be clean and clear we also have to realize that our nose and mouth should be clean as possible and not carry too much pathogens that are able to infect our lungs.
Until a few years ago most doctors were not aware of the importance of a clean mouth and nose and the effects of infections in those areas on the respiration system.
As a part of your immune system it is important to keep the teeth and the gums in good shape by cleaning it regularly.
You also should clean the nose and keep it open for the air and use blowing it as one of the measures to ensure good access.
After the mouth we enter the windpipe with its scientific name the tricha where other important organs are located such as the focal cords.
These focal cords can easily be affected and irritated by the wrong use of breathing and the use of our voice.
The moment the focal cords are infected it takes a real long time to heal.
When irritated they make breathing,
Coughing and sneezing rather painful.
On its turn the coughing makes the irritation even bigger and will enhance the curing time or will even irritate the vocal cords more.
Sometimes the vocal cords can grow cusps which must be surgical removed.
During the way down to the lungs the air passes a lot of cleaning places like the blankets of slime covering the whole tricha.
All this cleaning gives pathogens the possibility to create an infection if the slime is not thick or strong enough.
In my movie available on youtube I show breathing exercises to make the respiration system stronger and more resilient.
As a former asthmatic patient I am an asthmatic patient it is very important to know how to use the breathing and breathing exercises are a part of your life.
Finally the air enters the lungs which is an incredible network of affiote which look like tiny grapes like bunches and a very thin layer between the outer world and the inner side of your body.
It is nearly one cell thick layer.
The oxygen and the carbon dioxide exchange of place and the oxygen is taken in the blood while the carbon dioxide leaves the body through the exhaling and at the same breathing system as where the air came from.
Our lungs are not a two way pump but an extremely complicated natural exchange system where each part is carefully designed to interact with each other in a form of harmony.
But it is also an extremely sensitive system and easy to enter for pathogens and harmful elements.
These elements can be dust,
Smoke particles,
Bacteria or viruses each with its own harmful effects on our fragile system.
Some parts can be removed by breathing training such as dust and smoke particles which stay inside the alveoli and did not have entered the bloodstream.
Due to that fact that the air exchanges through a one layer cell directly in the blood you can understand that the effect of breathing contamination is stronger than skin contaminations.
Around the lungs are tiny and large muscles that are needed to keep the respiration system active.
Each of these muscles is able to work due to the oxygen it gets from the same lungs and the blood.
To protect yourself from sickness through the air you should consider different options depending on the place of environment you live.
Some places really need to wear a mask for filtration of the air from larger contamination particles and other places you need protection against pathogens such as water carrying bacteria or viruses like what happened during the corona crisis.
It is very important to use the mask as a protection system for in and outgoing water.
These masks are not only for personal protection but also to protect others from you.
The masks have a two side effect.
It is still a question but due to the crisis it would be logical that wearing a mask will become a new normal even during other activities.
The best and the strongest way to protect yourself and others is by using the following tips.
Breathing exercises to make the lungs stronger and better functioning.
Seek environment with clean air.
Avoid high concentrations of O3 or ozone.
Breathe through the nose as often as possible.
Do not use medicine that free the nose on airways too often and too long.
Avoid coughing often or too hard or clear the throat like ahh ahh.
Smoking is bad for the health but even more irritating for the windpipes and the lungs.
These are the tips.
This is the end of this story but the beginning of the next and the many who will follow after that.
Life is a chain of events which never ends.
We are that switch that can make the difference.
Let us follow a way of positive interpretation of progress and togetherness.
Keep moving on and let we make it a better world.
Thank you for listening and keep following or even better responding because only together we will make it happen.
My name is Arnold van de Vere and let me know you.
It is my happiness to be united in destiny.
