Duty,

A force or option?

Is it a duty or is it force?

Does it empower us or make it worse?

Are we all under this joke?

Does it make us choke?

Or is it a need to survive and makes humanity drive?

What is the meaning of duties and responsibilities?

Duty is a moral commitment of something,

Whereas responsibility is a condition of being responsible.

What is an example of duty?

The definition of duty is something that is required by one's religion,

Job,

Position or the law.

As an example of a duty is the act of a student to complete homework assignments.

Cicero,

An early Roman philosopher,

Suggested that duty comes from four different sources.

First,

As a result of being human.

Second,

As a result of one's particular place in life,

So one's family,

Country or job.

Third,

As a result of our character.

And fourth,

As a result of one's own moral expectations of oneself.

In Asian philosophy we also can add some other duties which are considered important.

For instance,

The filial pity in Chinese qiao is a virtue of respect for one's parents,

Elders and ancestors.

Most people do label the word in a negative way,

But does it deserve it?

I refer to the word duty.

Is it negative?

In all religions there are rules and regulations stating what you are allowed to do and what you must avoid or even do not do at all.

These are the rules and regulations which are considered the duty of the believer.

In most religions the good people have the duty to help the poor.

The sick and suffering,

This is in my eyes an honourable duty.

Duties are needed in our life for many reasons.

First of all,

Duties give us structure.

They show clearly what we have to do.

Our duty is to take care of our and maybe even other children.

It is our duty to take care of the elderly,

Even when they are not our own.

When we work our duties are often stated in a work contract.

If we own a business and work,

The customers are also part of your duties.

Some of the duties are mentioned in a contract or are stated in the law.

Finally we end up with the law.

Our laws are mainly statements of our duties towards society and they are made with the experience how people get around it and in society.

From unwritten duties we are now in the time that most of the duties are formulated in laws and orders.

It is our privilege to know that there are books in large volumes stating all our duties of which many we are even not aware of.

Only when we enter courts in conflict situations it is likely you are confronted with duties you have never even heard of before.

From a simple system we are evolved to a very complex duty oriented society which are often more duties than freedom.

Most of us do not like the fact that our life is ruled by duties and resisted.

In my political career I did seek for a solution of this dutiful life where stress is standard and relaxation is just a dream.

But every part of the system,

No matter what country and what system you are in,

You go to even every other political ideology it is based on obedience of the majority which is ruled with the minority.

This is a system we get and only effort and time can change that.

But the bigger question is can we,

Human beings,

Live in a duty free society?

The answer is we cannot.

At least most people cannot.

Duty and rules are needed and regulations are comfortable frames to live with.

Most people consider the borders an important protection of their personal life and of their society.

In fact the majority strives to get more rules and regulations,

Clarify old and forcefully imposed other rules and regulations.

Do we really need these duties?

Duties are a form of organization.

They give us structure.

Most duties are not random.

They have a strong foundation in experience.

The source of a duty is something we did consider important and needed to regulate.

This regulation did start first on a personal level.

One of the first duties we had was to take care of our newborns.

The babies could not live without our support.

They would not survive.

This was considered the first rule which is accepted also by the animals and we considered that still very important.

A second duty was to deliver food and a third is shelter.

Even a fourth came around,

The duty to dress ourselves against the weather.

You can see that duties are the same as needs in the beginning of humanity.

The change came when our wild life became organized in a society and when people live together it's important to know the duties clearly and even write them down.

At the introduction of religion we accepted more duties and rules and regulations.

The scriptures knew the human mind very well because it was written by humans and that's why they created many duties to fill up the minds and time of these tiny creatures of humanity.

God needed to be taken care of like a little baby.

We had to give him food that were the offerings.

We had to pay respect,

The praying and the parties.

We served them with say the buildings,

The churches,

The monasteries,

Whatever,

Moscow temples.

All these duties were imposed to us under the threat of punishment.

Nobody can not stand without punishment so it's the balance party.

People need to consider the punishment more dangerous than the obeying of the duty.

Perform the duty and have no punishment,

Deliver salvation.

Salvation is peace of mind and with that we're happy.

This did result in the strange face,

Duty make happy.

The reality is that this sentence is true for most people.

Give them duties and they're happy.

And what about you?

Can you imagine yourself without duties?

Can you solve your problems with duties?

Most people have problems with the fact that they are suffering under the mountain of duties they have to perform every day.

It's a natural reflex to resist against anything that places and forces you to do something even that orders you to do.

The first reaction is to resist.

Resistance brings a lot of stress and often the unavoidable collision of opposing parties.

You get two sides and when they oppose each other you have a problem.

Most duties led to conflicts before understanding.

Accepting the duty before resistance is an option.

When you try to understand the duty then it becomes much more likely you stop resisting and start accepting it.

Acceptation does not imply you agree with it.

Acceptation opens the way to fight a duty or rule from a point of understanding and not from a point of conflict.

The acceptation will take away the stress which comes with the duty.

If the end result of the duty is a punishment you accept the punishment but try to find a way to argue the severity of the punishment.

Sometimes it's possible to avoid punishment by understanding the reasons and use the same reasons to explain why you do not need a punishment but equal understanding.

This helps you to solve conflicts and avoid stress.

Accept that our life is both many duties and we must learn to get around with each other in our personal way.

Question and answer.

Question 1.

You argue that I must accept the duty to pay my taxes but I consider it unfair and very high.

Do you suggest me to pay what they ask me to do?

Answer 1.

That is not my suggestion.

The first rule is to understand where does it come from.

Go to the source.

Second try to follow these rules and regulations to see how they get to the amount that they charge you.

Use assistance when necessary because you are probably not a tax lawyer.

Use the same rules and regulations to fight the height of your payment.

If you fight well with reason and arguments it's very likely you pay less.

Finally you do know that you have to pay only you can argue the amount of it.

That's all.

Accept,

Relax and fight with reason.

Question 2.

It's against my nature to follow orders of others.

I think I am capable enough to follow my own way of life.

What can I do to avoid duties of society?

Answer 2.

An interesting question and it shows a bit of your age group.

When you are young we do consider to fight the system,

Escape the rules and regulations and fight them wherever is possible.

When you are single it's possible to live in that dream.

The moment you start a serious relationship the society starts to rule your life.

If you have children your life becomes even more restricted.

Owning a house,

Having a car or get a job and you are bounded to the duties and rules of society.

It starts at that moment to be impossible to avoid it.

When you are single and alone it is possible to escape most of the duties by immigrating to the coldest or hottest part of earth,

Live in isolation and be a free person.

Only then you can really live that dream.

Start your practice of survival in the wild right now and over a few years you can fully fulfill the dream of freedom.

Before that obey,

Make money and buy your needs to set up that freedom.

Question 3.

Is it possible to be a free spirit in the midst of a duty oriented society?

Question 3.

Currently it's a time where we have to fulfill our duties to make time to create a free spiritual life.

It has become near to impossible to be completely free on earthly events.

Even monks do feel that pressure all over the world.

The only way to become a free spirit is to find people to take care of you while you are in fact letting them down who take care.

You have all your time on becoming an enlightened being but finding the people to take care of you is really not easy.

It will take you a lot of effort I guess but if you are facing the facts,

Organize your life,

Keep all things simple and clear.

It's very likely you create time for evolving your mind and physics to a very high level.

Question 4.

As a rich person I can spend all my time on anything I like.

This is in contradiction with what you say.

We rich own the world and it does not own us.

Don't you reply on that.

Answer 4.

Living in a dream is my reply.

Being rich means that you have to take care of your wealth.

This takes you a lot of energy.

Most rich and wealthy need to spend hours in meetings with lawyers,

Accountants and others just only to protect their assets.

To be rich in this world is to know your duties,

Your rules and regulations and you have to know how they work,

How they are applied and what effects do they have on your wealth.

You do not escape the duties.

You just deal with them.

Now I'm living on the poor side of society and all these duties have tremendous pressure on me and my family.

How to deal with that?

Answer 5.

It's never easy to live under the pressure of poverty.

The only solution out is not to fight the duties with aggression or anger.

Accept the situation and ask for help.

Keep asking,

Never give up.

Do not demand.

Ask and try to make people understand the situation.

Fighting the system will only put you more pressure and as you are on the side where the hits come,

You will be the loser.

Set yourself a winner by accepting the situation and deal with it.

Struggle and never give up.

Never expect a wonder to happen,

A fortune to drop down or a miracle to take place.

Ask for your rights,

Your honour and your rights for space in life.

Never give up and let nobody look down upon you.
