Try to look at the mirror deep.
Do you see a wolf or a sheep?
Is there a lion?
Or do you feel some fear?
Or a rowing bear?
Or a running deer?
Your attitude is all what counts.
It makes you talk in sounds.
Every individual has an attitude toward people and things in life.
So what is your attitude,
Your position to the outside world?
This attitude is a behavioral expression of liking or disliking.
It's expressed in body language,
In your speech or actions.
An attitude is created by observation of others and their behavior.
Children start to have an attitude at around the age of one year old already.
This they learn it.
How to behave by the observation of the actions and reactions of parents and siblings.
An attitude consists of a conscious and an unconscious component which both are charged right from the beginning.
In the first year of observation it is the unconscious that is taught what is actions and what creates reactions such as crying,
Laughing,
Mumbling,
Smiling.
The physical condition of a child also has an influence on the forming of an attitude.
Children with pain and discomfort complain more by crying and overactivity which result in restless behavior and often irritated caretakers.
When children suffer their caretakers suffer with them which results in specific behavior registered by the unconscious mind of the child.
In a society where the caretaker has little time to take care the pressure on the child rises with the year.
This has a negative effect on the development of the mind and attitude of the child.
In general we can say that difficult children are not born but created.
There are exceptions for sure but that is because there are exceptions.
Another influences of importance on the development of attitudes are culture,
Traditions,
Language,
Family status and in the group or in the society emotional stability,
Intelligence,
Religions,
Yes even objects and animals.
This is an important teacher of the attitude which leads us to the important components of the overall attitude which are number one in relation with others the use of emotions and feelings.
Number two cognitive or thoughtfulness which refer to the belief and opinions held by your conscious.
Number three cognitive or motivational behavior which urges us to action.
Number four evaluation of your responses on the internal and external stimulations.
The attitude consists of two different aspects such as explicit attitudes which are at the conscience level that are intentionally created and to recognize and the implicit attitudes that are at unconscious level they are involuntary formed and are often hidden from the conscious mind.
This implies that we are all not fully aware of parts of our personal attitudes in society.
Some parts are even hidden from us and we do turn a blind eye to it.
We discover positive or negative parts in our attitudes by remark of others.
Often people who are not familiar to us mainly strangers they observe a particular behavior which is peculiar to them and they remark on that.
Of course there are other parts of our attitude which are more visible or obvious to ourselves and others such as attitude to use specific language.
Do not like one or more objects or animals or even dress in special way and so are many different ways how you can express attitude.
Many people use copy act attitudes.
They observe a movie star or other famous person having a certain attitude and they will study it and to take it over.
These observations are seldom complete as what they see is only what they can see from the public in media and so on.
From what they observe they create their own attitude by filling in the blank spots with what they consider is possible.
This personal touch give the whole attitude something fake and not in line with the real character of the personality.
In daily language the word attitude has a negative sound which is not right as we all have an attitude.
How do we know the difference between a positive,
Negative and other kinds of attitudes?
Positive attitude promotes an active lifestyle,
Clear mind,
Energy and it makes it possible to reach goals open to relationship and interactions,
Have a wild interest in life and other positive features.
The negative attitude promotes living in fear,
Narrow division and mind and makes you living in a constant ready for action lifestyle stress which is exhausting and only can lead to depression and worse.
Odd attitudes are people who seek a different lifestyle,
It is their ego to be different for less and be special and have a different behaviour,
Dress style or often also complete different expression.
It's up to us what we choose but also we have to keep our basic characteristics in mind when we consider our attitude.
No matter what kind of attitude we have it is always possible to change it or at least a part of it.
The goal of my lectures is self-improvement and this is where we are heading for now.
What can we do to enhance our personal attitude and let others experience a better me?
How can we improve our attitude?
After analysing our personal attitude we seek the possibility to improve what we already have.
To get up and a me we have to look around for opportunities.
These opportunities are number one.
Our life is owned by us as long as we are able to arrange it,
Try to stay on your own feet,
Do not rely on others more than is needed,
Be independent and self-sufficient.
Independence is not lonely but strength and when you are strong enough it is possible to share everything with others.
Number two.
Take responsibility for your life and behaviour and stay firm for the consequences.
Life comes with ups and downs and is never in a straight line.
Change is only constant factor that we will keep us alive long.
As you keep that in mind you are able to face all problems.
A responsible person attracts others that are the same way and you may need help for that.
Number three.
As independent person keep in mind that nobody owns you anything and you own nobody anything.
What and when you do something for others do not expect a reward or a return favour.
You do it because you want to do it and not because you need to do it.
Distinguish yourself what is business and what is private.
Business is to make money,
To survive.
It is what you do for yourself and what you love.
Number four.
Give up complaining about others or situations.
Review all positively and independence of your mind.
No matter things go right or wrong measure the result and be glad with it and try it again.
It is no use to complain over spoiled milk even when it smells.
Clean it and take it away to a place to dispose of it and never ever look back.
Number five.
To strengthen your attitude is to create a routine.
If possible a daily,
Weekly or monthly routine.
Routine can be things like going to sport,
A dance or theatre but also daily cooking,
Monthly check of birthdays and congratulate the happy person.
Make routines stick in your life and let them have that slightly little difference every time you can perform it again.
Never make routines rock solid,
Programs and set before chains is the only constant in life.
Number six.
A very important and often neglected topic is the use of language.
Your language is an important part of your attitude and communication to others but also to yourself.
Writing and writing the right way is not as easy as it looks as you have to think and consider words,
Sentences and pronunciation.
Articulation in the right way of your language is an expression of positive attitude and it brings you a lot of positive energy and also to others.
Number seven.
Surround yourself with positive persons.
Positive energy flows and has the effect that it pulls other positive energy toward yourself.
The same accounts for negative energy.
Equal energies support each other and strengthen the working of the total.
If you share your energy with other positive people it will multiply your own and has a long term effect on the mindset.
Number eight.
Check your body language.
Spend time to see how you move,
What you express and how others see you.
Body language is over 70-80% of your total communication and taking care of your right physical expression is very important.
Train yourself in using the right way of sitting,
Walking and body position in general.
Make a movie of yourself during conversations,
A party or event and also in private matters.
Review your positions as a third party and see what you express.
After taking care of these points on a regular basis it is important to enjoy achievements and celebrate them.
A celebration should be simple and enjoyable.
Whether it be a cake or a special drink or an extraordinary meal.
All is good as long as you can afford it and it is easily in a positive way.
Having the right attitude depends on the people you would like to associate with,
Your own vision of life and your future goals.
A right attitude is different from everybody.
If you take a sports person,
An artist or a politician,
Everyone has distinctive differences.
They need to be that kind of personality in what they want to do and what they want to reflect.
In every step you do to have the right attitude there is a confirmation and communication with the inner self through our well-known internal communication system which I let you before.
Be yourself by always trying to make a better self.
Question and answer.
Question 1.
Is depression an attitude or a disease?
Answer 1.
This is a very difficult question and also very hard to answer.
Depression can be a disease but also an attitude.
We should not consider it lightly as a depression in both ways.
It can have serious consequences for the individual.
At first it starts always with a tendency of the mood or body.
It never starts with an attitude that wants to be depressive.
Depression can be caused by many different things such as an event,
A chemical disturbance of the brain or a physical trauma.
For this lecture I only focus on the attitude and not on the other parts.
My apologies for that.
When a person has a negative attitude due to a starting depression it is very likely they will seek like-minded people for conversational purposes or a company.
The problem I mentioned before is that equal energies support each other.
Negative will pull more negative and both will strengthen each other.
This results is a deeper and often more severe depression which can lead to a serious event or death.
My advice is always to visit qualified professionals for good treatment.
Question 2.
I often read and hear that a person has the right or wrong attitude.
What does that mean?
Question 2,
There is no accept right or wrong attitude as it is a personal belonging and can never be generally qualified.
But people judge others from their personal point of view.
When you read or hear that statement it is made in the moment and the vision of a person who say it.
It is not permanent and it is surely not a declaration of the truth.
In the martial arts we often encounter this statement when a new person enters the gym and behaves aggressively or antisocial.
When the person has the right attitude for the sport we see a difference in a very short time.
The change in attitude comes from learning the rules and regulations,
Understanding the right behaviour and all over and all often again this will be done in a hard way.
In a real gym this person learns by facing the fact of life like a real punishment,
Exhausting training and the pain of hardening the body.
If the person can pass all these trials we say that they have the right attitude for the sport.
But it can be very easily the wrong attitude for a sport like hockey,
Darts or chess.
Question 3 In the literature and the lecture it is mentioned that you have to surround yourself with positive people.
In my experience that is not easy at all.
I am often depressed and can hardly find ways to meet positive people.
Do you have any suggestions?
Answer 3 Positive minded people are often found in art related activities such as singing,
Dancing,
Music and other artistic expressions.
Other ways are to seek people who work with animals or in gardening.
It is important to seek for places that people come in groups and not work as individuals.
In a group you often can find people to connect with.
And when you are depressed it is often a little bit easier.
Question 4 Is arrogance an attitude or a misbehaviour?
Answer 4 In my lecture about arrogance you will hear that arrogance is partly an attitude.
But it also can be a mental problem.
Arrogance can have a relationship with some mental disorders which are not easy to cure or check.
Check the podcast for more information about it.
Question 5 I live in a countryside and need to move to the big city for my study.
Me and all my friends have a country attitude and behaviour which conflicts with the city folks.
What do you suggest?
Answer 5 It depends on the distance between the countryside and the city.
In some countries the distance is very big and hard to bridge.
My suggestion is to start at a university that is known to have countryside people and to be countryside friendly and to study specific directions of your interest.
Another important part is to move to the city a few months ahead of your study.
To learn the city more and in its heaven tense.
Get used to the environment.
Before the start of the year try to meet like minded people,
Get a room or house mate.
Take city language lessons by listening around.
Train yourself in slang and idioms to suit in with your age level and also to understand what they say.
Become a member of chat groups of the university and others which are related to the city you live in.
Study the attitude of the city people and compare to what you learn in your countryside.
But never leave your roots to dry.
And these are all your foundations and the new environment is just for your experience.
Thank you for listening and I hope you enjoyed the topics.
