Good morning.

Happy Thursday.

I hope everybody is having a decent week,

Decent morning or day,

Depending what time you are tuning into this.

This morning we are talking about overcoming obstacles.

We've been touching on obstacles throughout the week,

Overcoming them,

Running into them,

What it kind of looks like,

How they can appear,

Ourselves being often one of the biggest obstacles we're running into,

The beliefs we hold,

The patterns we've created throughout our lives and figuring out when they stop working for us,

How do we change that.

So I wanted to touch base today on simple steps to overcoming obstacles.

And I say simple.

I don't mean easy.

They are not the same,

And overcoming obstacles is definitely not an easy process most of the time.

Occasionally we get lucky and it's like,

Oh,

That's an issue.

And as soon as we see it,

We make it go away because that's the first step that I wanted to touch base on is acknowledging it.

The first step in addressing anything,

Especially obstacles of blocks within ourselves,

Is acknowledging that it exists because we can't deal with something if we're pretending it's not there.

So the first step is to acknowledge it.

What is it?

What does it look like?

What problem is it causing?

And what do we want to do about it?

Because sometimes we'll see it and be like,

No,

I'm not ready for that or I don't want to deal with this right now.

And that's fine.

That's where we are in that moment.

But if it's something that's blocking us from getting where we want to go or moving towards a goal,

Then we have to take the next step and start addressing it.

So the second step is picking the right tool for the problem.

This can sometimes be a process of trial and error because if it's something that's new or at least seems totally new to us,

We don't necessarily know what the right tool is.

But it's picking one to start with and trying it.

So if it's overwhelming your head,

Maybe it's running,

Maybe it's yoga,

Maybe it's chatting with a friend,

Maybe it's a long hot shower,

Whatever that might be for you.

I don't have all of the specific answers,

Obviously.

I know some of the stuff that has worked for me in the past and worked for people I've known,

And it's all a learning and unlearning process,

Right?

Which brings us to our third step,

Which is leaning on your village.

So leaning on your community,

Looking to others for support,

To friends,

To family,

To coaches,

To teachers,

To whoever that might be for you that can potentially offer you some different insight or some different tools to try,

Knowing that we don't have to do everything alone.

We are not meant to be in complete isolation trying to figure this all out.

Learn from others' experiences,

Learn from the stories that others have,

And be willing also to teach.

So it's like we all have our innate personal magic that we bring with us,

The uniqueness that is us,

That brings something special to those around us.

And we can also then,

On the flip side,

Learn from and lean into and benefit from the special aspects that others bring to us.

So yeah,

That's just my few thoughts kind of this morning with obstacles and ways of overcoming them,

And it's just this ongoing process.

And knowing that it's not going to be perfect.

Some days it's going to be super messy,

And that's okay.

It's life.

It's not Hollywood.

It's not the perfect Disney happily ever after,

Where they don't tell us how that happens.

It just does,

And life doesn't work like that.

It's work.

It's a learning and unlearning process that's ongoing,

And I hope that you can just enjoy the journey and have some fun along the way,

Pick it yourself up,

Maybe laugh a little when you do stumble and fall down,

And just be like,

Okay,

So that didn't work.

What's next?

And just keep going,

One foot in front of the other,

And we'll see where the journey takes us.

I hope you have a beautiful day,

And we'll chat soon.
