Now,
Let's begin our self-acupressure practice.
Locate the acupressure points for today's session,
Bladder 23,
Also known as the Sea of Vitality.
This point is found on your lower back,
About one and a half inches away from the midline of your spine,
Both to the left and the right of your spine.
As you locate this point,
Later on I'll guide you through a breathing practice where we press on these points as you inhale for three breaths,
And slowly as you exhale and release for six breaths.
Then we'll repeat this for five times.
Are you ready?
Let's give this a try.
Gently apply pressure on your Bladder 23 points,
One and a half inches away from the midline of your spine,
At the level of your waist.
You can do this with either your thumbs or your fingers,
And we'll press as you inhale for three,
Two,
One,
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Press to inhale,
Three,
Two,
One.
Slowly let go,
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Press,
Inhale,
Three,
Two,
One.
Release,
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Press,
Inhale,
Three,
Two,
One.
Release,
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Press,
Inhale,
Three,
Two,
One.
Release,
Exhale,
Six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Now you may wish to keep your thumbs or your fingers on the Bladder 23 point.
And feel this connection with the reservoir of your inner resources.
And feel that through this practice,
You are recharging your internal batteries.
Feel this energy circulating within you,
Like water filling a deep well.
Now we'll add a circular back massage using your hands for this point.
Begin by letting your hands come into two loose fists.
We'll then gently massage around the Bladder 23 area using your fists.
And you can either let them move in the same direction or in the opposite direction,
Whatever feels nice for you.
As you gently massage your fists around this point,
Letting the hands move either in a clockwise or anticlockwise motion,
Feel that this gentle massage is slowly releasing tension and activating the energy in this region.
As you gently circle and massage with every exhale,
Visualize that you are releasing fear,
Uncertainty,
The need to know,
Control,
Or explain,
As well as any blockages that might be holding you back.
And with every inhale,
Welcome spaciousness,
Inviting insight,
Inspiration,
Fresh ideas,
And answers for your unanswered questions to inhabit and saturate your consciousness and your being.
As you continue to slowly massage this area,
Feel the warmth and the energy flushing and spreading in your lower back like a bubbling spring of potential.
Keep your shoulders relaxed and your head in a straight line.
And let this sensation from your lower back begin to spread throughout the whole of your body,
From the depths of your being to the surface of your awareness.
You may wish to also gently tap on this area with your fists,
As if you're knocking on the door of someone you love,
Gently awakening your inner batteries,
Charging them.
You may wish to tap both of your fists at the same time,
Or alternate tapping them,
Whatever feels right for you.
This could be a gentle massage,
A gentle massage,
Whatever feels right for you.
This could be a gentle tap,
A slow tap.
It could be a slightly faster paced form of tapping,
A more firm tapping,
Whatever feels right for you.
Let this tapping movement awaken your connection with the source of all insight.
Ideas and inspiration.
Now gently release your fists and place your palms around the back,
Letting your hands support these points.
And if accessible to you,
See if you could allow the center of your palm to gently mirror the two bladder 23 points in your back.
As you let your warm healing hands connect with these two points,
Maintain a gentle pressure,
Feeling the touch of your skin against skin,
The warmth and heat of your palm against your waist and your inner batteries.
As you inhale,
Let yourself inhale trust and inspiration.
As you exhale,
Releasing fear and resistance.
Inhaling trust and inspiration.
Exhaling fear and resistance.
Inhaling trust and inspiration.
And exhaling fear and resistance.
And now let's inhale deeply once more.
Fill the reservoir of your inner wisdom and inspiration.
Fill it to the brim.
And then as you exhale,
Releasing any lingering fear,
Resistance that's holding you back.
And as you let it go,
Feel a sense of relief.
Feel a sense of serenity and calm.
Knowing that you have released what no longer serves you.
If and when you begin to feel ready to let this practice come to a close,
Gently and slowly release your palms from your bladder 23 points.
And then slowly and gently allow yourself a moment.
Observing these points in the back of your body,
Feeling their connection with the whole of you.
If your eyes are closed,
Slowly and gently may wish to let your palms rub against each other and cover them over your eyes.
And then slowly in the darkness of your palms,
Let your eyes blink open and allow yourself to return to this present moment.
