In session three, we explore Dirgha Pranayama, or Three-Part Breath. This is a gentle practice that guides the breath into the belly, ribs, and chest. It helps release shallow or chest-dominant breathing patterns and reconnects us with the full capacity of the lungs. This practice is both grounding and expansive, calming the mind while creating more space in the body. A beautiful way to deepen your breath and your presence.

Welcome back,

Today in our third session we're going to be working on something called the three part breath,

Durga Pranayama,

Breathing into space.

So this beautiful breath practice,

Durga Pranayama or three part breath,

Is a gentle way to awaken the full capacity of your lungs,

Starting in the belly,

Rising through the ribs and then into the upper chest.

Many of us breathe just into the upper chest,

Especially when we are stressed or holding tension.

This practice helps us reclaim the whole breath,

Layer by layer,

Gently expanding our awareness and space within.

Let's begin,

Find a comfortable seat or lie down with your spine long,

Let your body settle.

You might place one hand on your belly and one on your chest.

Take a moment to notice your natural breath,

Just feel the air moving in,

Continue with this three part structure and allow the Pranayama,

An invitation to breathe fully and live more spacely.

Thank you for being here.
