Hi,

I'm Fimo and welcome to this meditative experience created specially for us.

Why don't we start with a moment of gratitude,

Giving thanks to all of those who have come before us.

All the women,

All the men,

All the children who sacrificed to ensure that we would be here today.

Feel free to call out the names of our ancestors who refused to accept injustice.

Perhaps call out the names of those who chose to walk in love and be warriors of love.

Give thanks to all those whose names history has forgotten.

Maybe there are individuals in your family that have made contributions to our community.

Give thanks for all that they've done and for the example they set.

Give thanks for the opportunity we have to continue their legacy.

The opportunity we have to fulfill their dreams and ours.

I invite you to give thanks for all that you are,

For all that you've been given,

And for all that you have in this moment.

Notice how it feels in your body to express gratitude.

Take a moment to connect with your breath and see if you can slow down your breathing as much as possible.

Every time you inhale,

I'd like you to breathe in ease and relaxation.

And every time you exhale,

I invite you to breathe out stress and anxiety.

Whenever your attention goes elsewhere,

Take a moment to notice where the mind has gone and then without judging yourself and with lots of kindness,

Bring your attention back to your breath.

You may have to do this several times during this meditation and that's totally fine.

Can you set aside your life situation and get curious about what is the reality of this moment?

What are you experiencing in the here and now?

As you continue to focus on your breathing,

Settle into that safe space within yourself,

Beyond the mind and body,

You are whole.

You are abundant.

You are boundless.

You are timeless.

You are limitless.

You are our ancestors' wildest dreams.

Notice what feelings and sensations are alive in you.

Notice the thoughts that may be present.

Take a deep breath in and slowly breathe out.

We are the first generation that has the time to focus on our healing.

And so if we're going to break the chains of generational trauma,

We're going to have to adopt a practice that allows us to look inward.

With equanimity,

We'll have to sit with ourselves and learn how to recognize,

Allow,

Investigate and nurture.

We'll have to practice forgiveness,

Which starts with self-forgiveness.

We'll have to commit ourselves to compassion,

Which starts with self-compassion.

In a society that often denies our full humanity,

It's important to affirm who we are.

I'd like to share 10 positive affirmations designed to fortify,

Encourage and inspire.

You can repeat each affirmation with your full voice or quietly to yourself.

You'll hear each affirmation twice,

And I will pause in between the affirmations so that you have time to sit with each one for a few moments.

Let's begin.

I deserve to move through life with ease.

I deserve to move through life with ease.

I know that I'm worthy.

I know that I'm worthy.

I give myself permission to create boundaries.

I give myself permission to create boundaries.

I release feelings of shame around my identity.

I release feelings of shame around my identity.

I use my voice to speak up for myself and others.

I use my voice to speak up for myself and others.

I make time to process strong emotions.

I make time to process strong emotions.

I am safe and supported.

I am safe and supported.

I live my truth.

I live my truth.

I am evolving.

I am evolving.

I love and accept myself as I am.

I love and accept myself as I am.

Notice how you feel in this moment.

I encourage you to come back to these affirmations as much as possible.

The music will stop shortly,

But I invite you to stay here in this meditative space for as long as you can.

Until next time,

Take care.
