Transcript

Hi,

As you close your eyes and you settle on a position that is comfortable for you,

Take a few moments just to notice how you feel.

Notice the energy that you showed up with.

Maybe notice the mood that you're in.

Notice how your body feels.

Notice the thoughts that may be present.

Now take a deep breath in and slowly breathe out.

Let's do that again.

Inhale deeply and exhale.

A third and final time together.

Deep breath in and with control,

Breathe out.

Continue to breathe in this way for the next little while.

Notice how your belly rises every time you breathe in.

And notice how it falls every time you breathe out.

Focus all your attention on the rise and fall of your belly with each in-breath and out-breath.

See if you can slow down your breathing as much as possible.

And whenever you notice that your attention has gone away from your breath,

Take a moment to notice where you are.

And without judging yourself and with lots of kindness,

Guide your attention back to your breath.

Feel free to let go of your control over your breath and allow your body to breathe however it wants to.

Giving your mind time to settle down.

The mind is an incredibly powerful tool capable of solving many problems,

But in the present moment there are no problems.

And so the mind may get bored and may try taking your attention back into the past or into the future.

Can you accept the nature of the mind and simply observe it?

This practice is about moment-by-moment awareness of what is.

Not about what will be or what was,

But about what is.

The present moment may seem uninteresting to the mind,

But it's in the present moment where you can experience yourself as you are.

It's in the present moment where you have access to the you beyond your thoughts and feelings and sensations.

So stay here.

Stay with your breath.

And notice what happens when you let go of doing,

When you let go of striving and straining.

Knowing that in this moment,

Whatever needs to happen is happening.

Knowing that in this moment,

You are enough.

Moment-by-moment awareness of what is.

Without the stories,

Without the judgment,

You bring an openness,

You bring a curiosity to what is here and to what is now.

So that no matter what arises,

You're able to hold it and be with it for as long as it's here.

The mind may try to tell you what it is and why it is,

But can you set that aside and come back to your breath and notice what is here and now?

The music will stop shortly,

But I invite you to stay in this space for as long as you can.
