Welcome.
Thank you for turning on this five minute gratitude meditation.
It doesn't really matter if you're sitting on a chair or if you're lying down.
If you are sitting on a chair,
Make sure your spine is nice and upright,
Your eyes are closed and your shoulders are relaxed.
If you choose to be lying down,
Make sure your hands are resting by the side of you.
Now you could be listening to this in the morning to welcome the day,
During the day for a little boost or at night to reflect on everything,
How the day has gone.
Take a couple of seconds to bring to mind some things that you're grateful for.
How does your body feel when you bring these things to mind?
Do you feel lighter?
Observe your breathing,
Your breath,
How it goes in and out naturally,
How your belly rises,
How it goes down and up.
Observe your breathing,
Your breath,
How it goes in and out naturally,
How your belly rises and then falls again.
It rises and then falls again.
Be grateful for that,
Be grateful for your breath that gives you new life all the time.
Be grateful for the fact that as long as you can focus on the breath,
The mind is not going to uncontrollably go wherever it likes.
This gives you awareness.
Breathe in and breathe out.
Now can you feel grateful for the things you have in your life,
For your friends,
For your family,
For the food,
For the water that nourishes you,
For the roof over your head that keeps you dry,
And for your body that is doing miraculous work,
Keeping you going without you having to do a single thing.
I'm so grateful for that.
And even your mind,
Although sometimes it likes to run around and sometimes it can get a bit messy.
But how powerful is the mind to solve problems in your life,
To let you experience this life to the fullest.
Be grateful for body and mind and everything that is present in your life.
Don't forget the breath.
I'm grateful to you for listening to this meditation.
See you again soon.
